Writing Prompt Caden Everingham 11-03-17 This picture in the middle ages shows how the side attacking the castle could win by using catapults to knock down the castle, But the side defending the castle, on the other hand, might be able to pull off a win because they have the high ground and protection from castle walls. Based on my observations, I believe that the side defending the castle will take the win.

The use of the counterweight trébuchet, which had been in existence in Roman times, failed to decline until the 1380s and was still listed as an active weapon in some French arms inventories until the 1460s. This shows the gradual nature of the introduction of gunpowder artillery (perhaps caused by shortages of materials for the cannons or unwillingness to invest in them when a prince already owned trébuchets), but there was little doubt that guns were becoming by far the better siege weapons. Their importance gave rise to a kind of 'arms race' in France in particular, with cities in the contested areas of the Hundred Years War assigning the acquisition of guns a high priority. Charles the Bold's army included a substantial artillery element in his war with the Swiss (although he was perhaps not a good enough general to make effective use of it), while in 1494, Charles VIII invaded Italy with "...an army of 18,000 men and a horse-drawn siege-train of at least forty guns. Even contemporaries realised that this marked a new departure in warfare: in 1498 the Venetian Senate declared that 'the wars of the present time are influenced more by the force of bombards and artillery than by men at arms'."
They are in a forest like area with a castle in the background, a castle which has a few noble looking men with a knight guarding them from any intruders. The battle shown is a small depiction of what happened at the battle between Hercules and the King of Troy. The small plants and trees all have small red flowers. The weapons being used are slightly curved one handed swords that come to a curved tip, almost like a tooth, and long shafted hammer like weapons with a spike jutting out the top of the hammer or some kind of variation of said hammer. None of the people fighting within the battle hold a shield, and they have three different types of armor. The three different armors show three different sides fighting. The different armors show on the people winning, the people losing, and the people already

Diana Lee, I think that a majority of significant issues that many people tend to run into is poor leadership skills and abilities. Moreover, a lack of respect for one another and sometimes lack of respect for ourselves. Although, the lack of communication has become problematic in itself. The essentials to having a good healthy company have to have an abundant of leadership skills and abilities. Once the leader fails, the followers will gradually have failure as well. Similar to the same "when the blind leadeth the blind all will fall into the dark hole." Without having trust and honesty what does a group of people have? The group has a massive pile of poop and failure. Repetition is how we learn and sometimes repeating what has become said
A trebuchet is a siege weapon most commonly used in the middle ages. It uses gravity to propel an object. There are competitions held today called "Pumpkin Chunkin '" which use trebuchets to launch pumpkins as far as possible. The common question is what the dimensions should be when making it. Should the arm be longer or shorter? Should the counterweight be heavier or lighter? These questions have been asked by competitors in trebuchet competition as well as engineers. And this is why the project is in the field of mechanical engineering.
In response to the use of castles and fortresses, siege weapons were created. Siege weapons ranged from short range weapons such as the battering ram to longer range ones like the trebuchet or the ballista. The battering ram was usually a big shed with an armored roof and wheels to protect the men inside operating a thick beam with an iron head hung from the roof that was swung into enemy walls to bring them down. The siege tower, a wheeled tower filled with men that would be used to get over the walls, also saw its use during this time. The trebuchet was used for longer range, the missiles launched by the trebuchet ranged from using dead bodies of animals or people to spread disease, a primitive example of biological warfare, to using large boulders to take down fortress walls. In response
The introduction of gunpowder revolutionized medieval Europe and hastened the decline of the knight and the end of the medieval style of warfare.
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." A. C. Clarke (Clarke). Throughout history, people have relied on technology to aid them. Technology has played an important role throughout time as a tool that has allowed people to achieve accomplishments never before possible. Technology has been crucial to survival as it has been used in warfare. Technology was used for both offensive and defense systems during times of siege, and could determine the fate of entire empires. Siege engines were some of the most important technological advancements of their time and could drastically sway outcomes of battles. Of the siege engines, the trebuchet played a very influential role in history for nearly two thousand
The Siege of a Castle was a guarantied victory, but it took a long time of patience. Patience was the key to victory with this strategy, however it was scarce in the battlefield, because of the angry, impatient soldiers waiting to get home to their families. The city walls were suppose to be fortifying a position that could not be easily overrun, and that it could be strong enough to enable the defense to maintain that position for a long period of time. Siege of a fort, castle, or city walls had four basic concepts. The Sieging technique was directly directed towards these four. In order for the attackers to get inside they would have to go over the wall, tear a passage through the wall, dig a tunnel underneath it, or just wait until the defenders surrendered.
The Middle Ages which was known to be a very violent era in our world consisted of multiple weapons. The weapons that were used in this era were determined by the social class that you belonged to. These classes consisted of the lower class which would be the foot soldiers and then the knights. The weapons these two classes had though differed from one another. What types of weapons did each class have and how would these weapons have looked back in the middle age time period?
In the 1500s, a clash between two worlds occurred. Although the French and the Spanish had the same religion and economic ideology, their treatment of the natives were vastly different. The Spanish used their superior military to commit atrocities against the natives, while the French allied their military with the natives. The Spanish used their religious zealotry to justify their heinous crimes, and sent missionaries to completely convert the natives, the French, meanwhile, believed the natives should have their religion if they wished, but still sent missionaries to the natives willing to convert. At first contact, the Spanish began to enslave the natives and put them to terrible labor, the French also desired materials from the natives, but they traded goods with them rather than kill and loot them.
During the 16th century England and much of Europe found itself in turmoil and in a constant state of war. The outbreak of fighting led to the invention and development of new weapons and the growth and change of weapons of old. The development of weapons was a trademark of the time, with a sort of renaissance, or re-birth in the field of weaponry (Miller). The technology was highlighted by the invention of gunpowder by the Chinese which eventually found its way to England (Grolier). However, the use of gunpowder was minimal, because the use of had yet to be perfected. The technological advancement most useful during the period was progression of the metals used in weaponry. The new forms could
