United States Air Force Security Forces: The Unites States Air Force is a huge organization that employs a huge workforce annually who works as its security forces. The organization's mission is to fly, fight, and win all battles in the air, cyberspace, and air. As a huge organization, it acts as one of the most attractive options for individuals who are seriously considering a career with the security forces. However, such individuals should conduct an adequate research before choosing to seek for job opportunities with the organization. This is largely because individual responsibilities in the United States Air Force contain various risks that are associated with different jobs. One of the most dangerous jobs at the United States Air Force is Outside the Wire Patrolling which is normally geared towards securing base. In most cases, these jobs include combating offensive ground combat operations while taking the fight to the enemy, which is not an easy task. The main goal of Outside the Wire Patrolling is to drive the enemy out while conducting these operations. As the security forces carry out Outside the Wire patrol, they usually experience numerous fatal attacks from their enemies. Serving the United States Military comes with many responsibilities as well as pressure and accountability. However, the military isn’t for everyone, but it offers so much for those who serve. One thing that must be known and dealt with is that this career could be a life threatening one, and there are many obstacles one must go through beforehand.
Military discipline and effectiveness is built on the foundation of obedience to orders. Recruits are taught to obey, immediately and without question, orders from their superiors, right from day-one of boot camp. Which is why we work so well by following orders from the more experienced leaders who have been doing this for years. We have plenty of obedience in Charlie company and I feel it is one of the best units I have been in. It has made me want to persue a carreer in the military and I no rules and regulations is what is going to make me move up the ranks and make me a all around better soldier. Because of the wide gap in educational requirements between each purpose the military fulfills, mission completion has necessitated the recruiting of both active duty military members, and specialized civilian employees and contractors. The increasing advanced requirements for cyberspace defense and weapon research cannot be adequately met through an organizational model dependant on the recruiting of enlisted members, who usually have an educational level no higher than high school, and officer members, who often have not obtained an educational level higher than a baccalaureate prior to service entry. The Air force needs traditional military members to maintain proficiency and command during standard warfare operations. It needs highly technical positions, which the government can only hope to effectively obtain from civilians, who naturally expect better pay and treatment
Given constrained funding and the requirements of short-term national military objectives and longer term operations, the Army should balance the Total Force as follows: first, decrease the Active Component deployments and increase the Reserve Component, specifically the National Guard. Second, assign National Guard units to specific regions and/or missions so that their training can be focused on these conflicts. And third, increase the use of National Guard units to reduce active component use particularly for low-intensity conflict and short term missions.
Although kinetic fires are used to physically destroy enemy capabilities, “the greatest effect of fires is… not the amount of physical destruction, but the effect of that physical destruction on the adversary’s moral strength” (MCWP 3-43.3, 1-1). Fires play a vital role in supporting a commander’s plan to preserve his force. This is achieved by utilizing the targeting process to identify high payoff targets and utilizing fires to destroy or degrade the enemy’s capabilities, interdict their air and missile capabilities, and eroding their will to fight. Specific force protection measures can include counter battery fire and the jamming of electronic surveillance to deny the enemy information about friendly forces. By focusing fires assets on creating disproportionate results through psychological effects, a commander can increase his unit’s productivity and combat effectiveness while simultaneously safeguarding U.S.
When a service member is addressed with the question, “Why do you want to be a military officer?” One should reflect fully on his/her decision to integrate into the position of an Officer in the United States Military. Each field within the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines, has their specific Officers, who are expected to conduct certain responsibilities within their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). Being that each branch of military holds its historic position on the battlefield i.e. the Navy and Marines defend the beaches and land, the Army defends the land and the Air, and the Air Force secures our skies, every unique officer within our military must still adhere to one standard, a constant professional.
