Unit #11-21 Overview Journal What I have learned throughout units 11-21 is how to help motivate myself through positive self-talk. When it comes to self-talk, it helps to know that I need to focus on what is being said to me and change that to show positive reinforcement. What these units describe as positive self-talk is that I need to help the subconscious reaffirm that I am someone that is worthy of good thoughts, feelings, and actions. Another useful tool that I have learned with these units is the idea of affirmations. By having 10-15 positive affirmations that I can say to myself at least twice a day, I know that I can refocus my energy into pushing forward with the goals that I want. I believe that the decision to return to

Scene one(describing character and exposition): I have recently been asked to participate in a time capsule that will placed in a cornerstone of a public building and will be opened in the year 2100. I am a girl currently fifteen years old living in Edison, New Jersey and enrolled in the Ogburn School. In this capsule I am supposed to include information about my current generation that I want the generation that will read is to know and be informed of.
For many of us, our self talk or inner dialogue interferes with our performance. We often set ourselves up to fail even before we have tried.

The equality act 2010 provides a modern single legal framework with clear laws to be more effective in tackling discrimination and disadvantages.
Through reading this week's chapter I learned the development of a child can impact their whole life. I enjoyed learning the different levels of domains and how they impact every milestones each person goes through as they develop. The explanation of how a mother can impact their child's ability to give love and accept affection from others. It helps understand why some people second guess or unsure of themselves when in an adult relationship to where they settle even when mistreated by their significant other.
2.2 Reflecting on my practise by identifying personally what I found hard and how I could improve and gain more knowledge and extend. Also by completing a SWOC analysis(see attachment 2) for my own feelings and what I as an individual would like to gain more knowledge on and what current opportunities would be available to me and what may prevent me from turning my weaknesses into strengths. In class I also answered some questions on what I have learnt about myself as a TA and what were my highest/lowest emotional moments in the current week this was a good way of reflecting on my practise as made think on what my strengths and weaknesses are and what I need to progress on (see attachment 3) In my place of work we also every 6-8 months have a performance management meeting with our line manager to discuss what courses we would like to attend and what we would like to progress on(see attachment 4). During the course of Unit 332 we complete a PDP (personal development plans) by using SMART targets to address development/learning we want to improve on ( see attachment 5).
It is not mentally not looking at circumstances with eyes that see only what you want to see”. In other words using Positive Self-Talk shows us the truth on real situations. For example: you were trying out for the school volleyball team and you messed up on bumping the ball, when the negative thoughts occur that is when the positive self talk will take place “ok I’m now going to focus on what I need to complete in order to make it on the team.” There is a way in which you can develop a positive self talk habit, there are 3 steps and the first one is “Mantra”, choose a mantra and find a positive self talk for example; “I feel strong”. This positive self talk will encourage you to feel motivated. The second step is “Practice Multiple Scenarios”after using the positive self talk from step one, repeat the line so you can practice having it sink in your brain. It will help you during real situations in sports a example for this step is “Anything can happen, and I’m definitely not out of this, Don’t let up”. Finally, the last step called “Creating A Positive Mental Image Or Visualization” this technique can help you create a visual picture on what you are doing and saying This powerful combination will create a positive message.
Strengthening of the self-concept could be brought on by using processes such as the five core aspects of self-awareness:
There are many resources to fall back on that I now understand more fully. Many of them I have been told about; however, they were never explained to me. Therefore, I had heard of a few of them; however, I had never used them because I didn’t feel comfortable in my understanding of how to use many of them. Now, I feel assured that I know when and how to implement many of the worksheets and behavior modifications that are discussed within the
This is extremely crucial in the aspect of working out because results do not come instantly. This concept struck me during the first couple months of my lifting journey; nothing seemed to work, and I felt as if results were not coming. From there, I decided to talk with my school’s weight trainer. We diagnosed the problem: I had no stimulus for motivation which could push me through each lift. Goal setting is what I turned to, and, finally, results came. Having an end goal in mind is now what keeps me motivated throughout each workout. Not every day in the weight room is perfect, but accepting this and not letting my failures dictate my future workouts allows me stay true to my
The second concept I will be discussing is motivation, which is one of the five empowering activities
Many of us had been though a couple of rough times and some pretty amazing ones as well. Difficult times for most people can take away their energy, taken away emotions, and break a person’s spirit. The good times on the other hand can lift someone’s spirit up, boost their self-esteem, and show signs of our capability. This is called self-efficacy, it connects with four of the 6 dimensions of health mental, emotional, spiritual, and social wellness. These effects tell people to feel good about themselves, help them control their social anxiety, and maintain a positive lookout on life.
It may be naïve to focus solely on reducing negative self-talk as it is important for a balance of positive and negative thoughts for well-being and your state-of-mind (Schwartz & Garamoni, 1986). As research indicates that negative self-talk is not associated with reduced performance therefore there
Yet, I absolutely know from long experience that "true and enduring self-improvement ' can be achieved by well designed programs actually created for that end and which incorporates the specific psychological and physiological principles that I am going to try to illuminate here in this three part
