Unemployment is a major issue in almost every country in the world, it comes from the state of being unemployed, being unemployed means you are willing and able to work but cannot find a job for job related reasons. There are many causes of unemployment but the main ones are cyclical, frictional, structural, seasonal (Gillepsie, 2011). Cyclical unemployment occurs from economic downturns such as recessions, when there is a recession a company might want to eliminate some workers so that they would cut down costs so that’s how the unemployment occurs. Seasonal unemployment is unemployment due to variations in the seasons, for example, farmers who grown strawberries, because strawberries are summer fruits they only grow in the summer so the farmers would be unemployed throughout the whole year except for the summer and they wont be able to help it only if they start farming crops that would grow throughout the year. Frictional unemployment occurs due to “moving from one job to another” (Pennington, 2008). Structural unemployment happens when there is a change in the economy for example a change in technology; technology plays a huge role in our lives today and nowadays machines are replacing human labour so that causes unemployment. Unemployment results in discouraged workers and marginally attached workers. Marginally attached workers are people who once held productive jobs but have stopped looking for work and discouraged workers are a subset of marginally attached workers
There are three different kinds of unemployment that affect our economy: frictional, cyclical and structural. Frictional unemployment occurs when there is a time laps between being employed and looking for work. This term can also be referred to as search employment because it is the time spent searching for a place of employment. One example of this would be a student taking time off of work to finish college and get a 4 year degree. Usually, it takes a lot of time and dedication to finish the last years of school, so some students tend to go to school full time and work part time or not at all. This type of unemployment is also classified as voluntary unemployment because this period of unemployment is at the discretion of the person to some small degree. Secondly, there is cyclical unemployment which changes depending on the business need; for example, workers are laid off when business is bad - then

Immigration is a major issue in the 2016 presidential election. Millions of undocumented immigrants live in the U.S. and border agents spend so much time apprehending illegal immigrants that agencies cannot focus on criminal and terrorist threats. The growing awareness that our immigration system is dysfunctional has affected the candidate’s position on the issue. The candidates I have chosen to highlight are Democrat Hillary Clinton, Republican Donald Trump and Libertarian Gary Johnson.

The largest cause of unemployment can be attributed to recession. The term recession refers to the backward movement of the economy for a long period. People spend only when they have to. (Nagle 2009). With people spending less there would be less money in circulation therefore, enterprises would suffer financially and people would suffer too. This is so because recession reduces the fiscal bases of enterprises, forcing these enterprises to reduce their workforce through layoffs. These enterprises lay off their workers in order to cut the costs they incur in terms of wage and salary payments.
Every year, the unemployment rate is measured in the United States. The term unemployment refers to the group of people who are actively searching for work and do not have a job. Certain groups of individuals, however, are not factored into the measurement of unemployment on an annual basis. People who are under the age of sixteen, are institutionalized, or are not actively looking for a job are not added when counting unemployment. There are four major types of unemployment, and they include frictional, structural, cyclical, and seasonal.
Another reason for unemployment is automation of some work routines that replace person workforce. Factories are replacing workers with robots, there are systems that perform repetitive tasks and, as a consequence, it eliminates some employees. For instance, nowadays we have been using our smartphones to do many things that, in the past, we couldn’t do such as bank payment system and assembly of cars. However, countries significantly reduce barriers between them such as cultural, professional and technological. Thus, globalization makes countries familiar with factors that are helpful in the long run. It not only is replacing workers, but also creating new careers. For instance, nowadays international business requires qualified workers in the field of trade management, which was not required in the
