My friend Jonny T offered his seasoned MMA opinion on three fights for tomorrow nights UFC Ultimate Fight Night installment 15. His analysis:
Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer
Josh Neer is a tough Militech Fighter with good hands and a solid ground game. He has submitted some very dangerous fighters in Joe Stevenson and Melvin Guillard. Unfortunately, has been decisioned by the bigger breed of fighters such as Josh Burkman. This has ultimately led to sliding down into the Lightweight division where BJ Penn is king (if he can stay away from the buffet). Unfortunately for Josh, Nick Diaz has paved the way for younger brother Nate (submitting Josh by Kimura in the 3rd back in 06), with using a good stand up game to force the fight to go to the ground.

The only thing in question has been the quality of opponents that hes put down. On the other side of the cage is guy who always puts on a show and has no problem taking the fight to the opposition and brawling it out. If your not a believer, just ask Roger Huerta. Guida has good hands and solid wrestling, but most important, he embraces thewarrior spirit. If theres a fight, hes in the middle of it, making a war out of it and letting it all hang out. I see Guida by decision because hell be too much for Danzig. Danzig will have enough skills to go the distance, but Guida will be just too much for the TUF winner.
Houston Alexander vs. Eric Schafer
Houston Alexander is going to obliterate Eric Schafer. This fight is going to be short and violent with Alexander pounding out the back of Schafers head. Houston is coming off of two loses and is desperately looking to revive his career and get MMA fans buzzing about his power and viciousness in thwarting up and comers. Schafers wrestling skills are not good enough to take Alexander down to the ground, leaving the fight on its feet. This is a recipe for disaster for Schafer. Houston Alexander by KO in the
In Takedown, Darren is released from juvie and what his revenge on Diamond Tony, aka drug lord. He works as a CI for the police to infiltrate Diamond operation. While this is happening, he falls for a girl named Jessica and a turf war breaks out against Diamond Tony and the Blood. Now Darren has to protect Jessica and if he can, take down Tony. What I like about this book was as I read, I can imagine the action scene like in a movie. Going deeper into the book, it gets more intense and plot twist begins to occur. One thing I dislike about this book is the beginning of it, it wasn’t great to read and get my attention. It talks about school and trying to get back to his daily life after he came back from juvie. I would recommend this
Holly Holm came into UFC 193 as the underdog, but the preacher's daughter shocked the world as she KO'd Ronda Rousey, who previously had a perfect UFC record.
"This is a great matchup between two veteran heavyweights who can show a lot of the younger kids how it's done," said Oscar De La Hoya, president and founder of Golden Boy Promotions. "I'm really looking forward to this one and as far as picking a winner, it's a toss-up."
“My partner (Casey Sparkman), he’s already stepped up this year and won big duals,” Miller said. “He’s a guy that’s going to step up. (Jairod James), he’s going to step up. He’s won two out of the three of his MAC starts. Our heavyweight, (Devin Nye), he’s gotten some big wins when we needed them.”
Less than one month later, Oscar knocked-out Cliff Hicks to improve his professional record to 2-0. Oscar continued his busy schedule over the next few years, fighting a total of eighteen times. He made positive progress in 1993, as he quickly climbed the ranks and turned into as a top boxing star. His biggest victory came against former champion Troy Dorsey, with a knock-out in the first round.
“I'm probably not fighting again,” Malignaggi said, as reported by ESPN. “You hate to make an emotional decision. My career started in Brooklyn 14 years ago. If it ends in Brooklyn tonight, then at least I ended it at home, where I'm from, and in front of the greatest fans in the world. I've got a really good job commentating and watching great fighters fight ringside. I hope to sit around ringside for a long time.”
The diary of Waldo is the first document that i'm going to start my argument for why i would quit. The first reason is that i would not like to live in such poor conditions cause i would not be able to live like that. My final reason is that i would not want to be part of the big mass of soldiers that are all dying. The estimate of illness & death at valley Forge. According to the accurate text, the number of soldiers and people dying are very high, that could be me. And another reason is that all of these people getting sick and they might get me sick if i stay and fight and sleep in the same room as them or near them. Finally, the engraving of William Henry Powell explains why i would leave and not fight at valley forge. As he describes,
In the first round the first thing that was noticeable was the size difference between the two. Wilder has a five inch reach advantage which was insane. However, Ortiz would jab his way into Wilder while avoiding the counter punches.
These two competition heavyweights clashed just two weeks ago, where the Wyong Roos came 19-18 victors.
Based on what transpired this weekend, Joshua would seem to be primed to revenge that loss. Perhaps in an attempt to stroke the fires for the next fight, Whyte and Joshua had words during the final press conference for the September 12 fight card. After Joshua remarked about how grateful Whyte should be after getting his "5 minutes of fame" compliments of Joshua, Whyte shot back “Stop being fake,” further adding “Be yourself. I’ve spent time around you and this is not you. Stop fooling the people. Be yourself, you know what I’m talking about. Punk. I am going to hurt you in December. You are getting bashed up.” This time, Joshua shot back with “You’re lucky to be on my
Last night at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY., reigning WBA lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) was agreeable to anything Adrien Broner (33-3, 24 KOs) wanted to do in the boxing in the ring.
The former streetfighter was signed to Bellator MMA and scheduled to fight at Bellator 158 on July 16 in London against James Thompson.
