Today in class we discussed Type A Personality. People with Type A personality generally are obsessed with being on time, competitive, impatient, and may be easily angered and hostile. These traits may become dangerous as they can lead to heart problems because of the anger these people possess. I believe that my personality corresponds to Type A. Although I normally am late for most things, I get very paranoid when I am running late for something I am passionate about. For example, I am never late for the movies. I always check the timings a few hours earlier and try to be at the movie theater around 45 minutes earlier. Another piece of evidence that points to me being Type A is that I am excessively competitive and cutthroat. I must do anything and everything to be the best. I believe that there is no point in doing anything unless you want to be number one. My philosophy (which I borrowed from Grey’s Anatomy 2x22) is that being that second best is mediocre, and to settle for mediocrity is a sign of self disrespect and a substandard work ethic. I refuse to be second best. …show more content…
I cannot stand in line or wait for a website to load without getting impatient and irritated. My impatience is what leads me to be agitated. I am easily frustrated, if there is no easy way to solve a problem I try to find a more efficient way to solve the problem. I feel that my anger and impatience is probably caused by my chronic laziness. I am guessing that I am like this because I live in an era where everything seems to be close to (or is) automatic. My food is ready made, my computer turns on right when I open it, my phone connects to the wifi automatically. My patience has deteriorated to the point where I cannot wait any longer than 6
Type B personalities are known for being easygoing and relaxed, as well as less prone to stress in uncomfortable situations (Myers 402). This leads to them being less angry overall, as well as generally optimistic. This, as well, leads to less frustration, and less aggression (Myers 403). This is extremely noticeable in the case of Maude.
Their personality includes the apparent lack of motivation, drive, urgency, and competitive spirit. The Type B person is described as calm, relaxed and non-competitive (Wilson, 2009).
A Type B behavior pattern is characterized by an easy-going personality. Type B people are usually not stressed or anxious during tasks. They are more tolerant of others, more relaxed, less anxious, less urgent, and less competitive compared to Type A personalities. They tend to not be worried about deadlines, which may lead to them completing their work late. This laissez-faire attitude is typically appreciated by people, but may lead to sloppy or haphazard work. Type B
The personality type most different form mine is the artist. “The artist will do whatever works, whatever gives them a quick, effective payoff, even if they have to bend the rules” (Keirsey, n.d.). I find myself struggling with this personality because I like to play by the rule, not bend them. I like to take time and assess the best way to do
During the power point on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, as the instructor went through the different types of personalities, I was able to recognize which subcategories I fall into almost instantly. When my computer personality test results were returned, I was correct. As I read the type descriptions of Extroversion, Intuition, Feeling, and Judging- ENFJ- I quickly recognized myself within the descriptive words.
In Finding Nemo, Dory had a type B personality because she was normally very easy going and relaxed. A type B personality is defined as a child ego state characterized by a form of behavior associated by Friedman and Rosenman with people who appear free of hostility and aggression and who lack a compulsion to meet deadlines, are not highly competitive at work and play, and have a lower risk of heart attack (Farlex, 2012). In many parts of the movie, you could see
The results of the four personality tests all agree that I value relationships and ideas that can be seen, touched, and felt. I identify strongly with these core characteristics. However, because of the high emotional scores, the tests tend to lean towards a humanitarian personality. While I care about others and do hold convictions on certain matters, the activist theme is not accurate. In my early career, because of my emotional intelligence, I was encouraged to engage in studies involving social work, counseling, and teaching. My first two years of college were focused on education until I realized my brand of emotional intelligence would fit better in a business organization, specifically human resources. The relational and emotional characteristics come from my Type A personality. The need to be accepted by my peers will be an ongoing challenge in my career. I do think relationships are extremely important to achieving goals. I have experienced that it takes time and effort to develop and maintain relationships with my staff, but it has enabled my team to buy-in to our recruitment initiatives.
I completed the modified version of the Jenkins Activity Type A/B personality questionnaire. My personality type is Type B personality. Type B personality characteristics are as follow; a person that is relaxed and easygoing, love the game, but it is not important to win, accept failure positively and a patient person. I agree that I have a Type B personality. I wait patiently in the long grocery lines, and I read magazines or do a crossword puzzle as I patiently wait at the over-scheduled doctor office. I enjoy my quiet time; I relax and watch television when I am at home. I am not a competitive person; I love the fun of the game.
The Type C personality is formed by a number of attributes drawn from Type A and B personalities (Schafer, 2000). Individuals with the Type C personality encounter challenges head-on with success and vitality. Several qualities exhibited by Type Cs include their inspiring self, optimism, impulsive nature, and their vigilant focus (Schafer, 2000). The Type C model, developed by Robert and Marilyn Kriegel (1990, as cited in Schafer, 2000), categorises three patterns; challenge, confidence, and control, which closely resemble the three Cs of the hardy characteristic discussed below.
Through this assessment I have found that I have more of a Type B personality. I have also found that there are three different Types, A, B, C. Upon further research I have found that there is a lot more to it and it could be a bit confusing. The test I took says that Type B is a cross between C and A. When reading more about them it seams they are completely different. Type A personalities are known to be a bit high strung and stressed often. They try to do to many things at once along with setting un-realistic goals. This would cause higher blood pressures and over time could lead to serious health issues. Type B personalities are a go with the flow, and more laid back type. They are more likely to adapt to their social surroundings making
Personality A is a very strong and bold personality to own. This is typically related to a person with a chronic sense of time and ergency, meaning where ever they go they always need to be on time. A person that has an excessive competitive drive, and is very aggressive and hostile towards others. This person is always setting
Type A personalities are people who are competitive, highly motivated, controlling, impatient, and can even be described as aggressive. Type B personalities are very laid back, relaxed, and live a life with less stress. Type B people usually are not the leaders, while Type A is more likely to take on a leading role. In the novel Animal Farm, the pigs are the leaders who control all the other animals. Although animals like Boxer are the hard workers, they are more likely to be Type B personalities, and therefore the pigs (Napoleon and Snowball) are Type A, and they are the controlling leaders.
Everyone has their own personality. Personality is defined as a set of individual differences that are affected by the development of an individual, which typically consists of a person’s values, attitudes, personal memories, social relationships, and skills. (McAdams, Olson, 2010, p. 517-542) There are two classifications of personalities. If you are considered Type A personality, then you are more competitive, outgoing, possibly impatient and could even be considered aggressive. While the more relaxed, laid back personalities are classified as Type B personalities. No matter which category of personality a person falls under, they can be afflicted with a personality disorder. These disorders can be such a mild version that a person doesn’t even notice that they have one. But then there are some that are affected by their disorder to the point that it completely takes over their lives. So much so that they are unable to live what’s considered a normal life.
They came up with the idea of the 'Type A' personality - illustrated below: The typical 'type A' person is competitive, time-conscious, 'workaholic' and easily frustrated with others. Researchers have suggested that this sort of person would be likely to
The first part of this type deals with having introverted qualities. Introverts tend to shy away from social events, the events tend to drain them of their energy. Introverted people also are sensitive to external stimulations. If I go anywhere loud, with flashing lights or anywhere with lots of people I get tired. If doing any work I like to be working alone or in a small group of people that I trust like most
