Tupac made albums/singles talking about real life problems such as teen pregnancy, police brutality, and drug abuse (Marcovitz 26). Tupac was born in 1971 (Marcovitz 4). Tupac was a very talented artist that many people looked up to because he wrote lyrics about hard lifestyle and many people could relate to what he sing about.

     Actions have been taken that lead us to presume that 2Pac has to still be alive. A majority of these actions were taken by 2Pac himself. In interviews prior to the shooting, he discussed how he wanted to stop rapping, being a gangster, and step out of the limelight. Approximately one month before the shooting occurred, Tupac recorded a new video for the song “I Ain’t Mad At Cha.” In this video, 2Pac walks out of a Las Vegas club and is shot much in the manner of how his death had really occurred. He dies in the ambulance and goes to heaven. Is the fact that the September 7th shooting closely resembles his video extremely coincidental or was it planned? Also, while on the subject of videos, in the video “To Live and Die in L.A.” he wore a pair of the new Jordan’s before they even came out. Tupac’s name change also leads one to believe his death has been faked.

When pertaining to thought of the hip-hop production and history, Tupac Shakur is one of the first names that pops to mind. Shakur was born in the Bronx on June 16, 1971 in Brooklyn New York, and died on September 13, 1996 in Las Vegas Nevada just at the age of 25! His mother, Afeni Shakur was an active revolutionary of the Black Panther Party. She became pregnant with her son in 1970 while on bail after being accused of plotting to start an ethnicity war, Mrs. Shakur was absolved the year after strongly protecting herself in court, demonstrating a talent for speech which her son later comes to acquire. Tupac had a sister that was 2 years apart from him her name was Sekiya Shakur. William “Billy” Garland was the biological father of Tupac Shakur. Even though he was his father in blood he wasn’t actually a father figure he did very little to care for Tupac, only seeing him hardly any times up until Tupac reached the age of 5, Afeni and Tupac lost all contact with Garland. In these lines of song, he says “Live the life of a thug until the day I die” (Shakur 30). He also later states “This criminal lifestyle” (Shakur 85). Tupac clearly states that he was a gang member. This is also a personal anecdote of his life. Tupac also references in the song how he is successful.

When most people hear the name Tupac, they think of a tattooed thug, a gangsta rapper killed in a tragic shooting who only got what was coming to him, a man who lived by the gun, and who died by the gun. However, those people probably have never taken a chance to look beyond what their eyes tell them, past the ignorance and into the depths of the man who really was Tupac.

Shakur was an amazing artist of his time and still is. There are an exceeded amount of reasons why I decided to write about Tupac Shakur. He’s had a crazy life and I can’t imagine living the life he’s lived. He’s a very interesting person to research about. There are a lot of different stories, theories, experiences and lessons you can learn by learning about one person. He has a unique life nobody could ever relive. He started from the bottom and lived life like nobody else. Shakur can show you how you can start with a life with nothing, but work your way up to the top. He was born in East Harlem, New York just one month after his mother was acquitted of charges against her for threats on June 16, 1971. Tupac’s father was not in his life until adulthood and was raised with a single mother for some time. His originally born as lesane Parish Crooks and then when he was one his mother changed it to Tupac Shakur when he was one. His family was constantly on the move until they settled in in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tupac Amaru Shakur was an African American rapper, poet, and record producer in the 1990's. In the adolescent years of his, he went to the Baltimore School for all the Arts exactly where he took acting and also dance classes, like ballet. He was told radical politics by the mother of his, that helped him produce ideas about subjects he'd later use in the many works of his. At an earlier age, Tupac had viewed the injustices of the actual world. His mom was a former Black Panther activist that switched to substance abuse during Tupac's childhood.

As a young man Tupac Amaru Shakur grew up without a father and was faced to live the life of a common gangster throughout his life ( Holler if you hear me: Searching For Tupac). Young Minaj grew up in a “troubled” family with her dad that was a drug addict, he later changed because he went into rehab and started going to church. Also Minaj went to “LaGuardia High School.” Around 2010 - 2012 Nicki had made these alter personalities in certain songs to make her seem different and unique. Nicki minaj proves that it is not easy becoming successful, she has released 3 studio albums such as (Pink Friday - 2010) (Pink Friday : Roman Reloaded - The Re-Up - 2012) and (The Pinkprint - 2014) and they have all went platinum. Because, Nicki Minaj puts a lot of work into her albums and songs, she gets the work she puts in back to her such as her success.

Tupac Shakur was one of the most influential artist of our last decade. He not only made several albums, but was also a large role in many films and a poet. Millions of people bought and still buy his albums. He was a pioneer to gangster rap, and he sang about things that mattered. Although, he was a role model and was admired by many, he also had a lot of enemies, and in the end, his enemies over powered his fans by taking his life. Some say that he may still be alive, but no one really knows.

Even though Tupac is not alive today his music still carries throughout this generation. His music talks about topics that most people are too scared to talk about. He gave people a voice that were not confident enough. He related problems to his real life. He stood up for himself through music and expressed himself through it.
