The most impactful event in my life so far was the two week service trip I took to Ecuador with Renbrook in june of 2015. It was a two week service trip in which we would be helping at medical clinics and building wheelchair ramps for a school for disabled kids. I went into the trip having no idea how much of an impact it would have on my life, and I definitely had no idea that I would create strong bonds with people I had never even met. I came out of this trip a different person, a better person.
The night before we left for ecuador we were invited to spend the night at Renbrook. That night was the beginning to our bonding, we got pizza and watched a movie and everyone had a great time. Even though we had an early morning flight the next day, we still stayed up until 12 because we were having so much fun. The next morning was rough we had to wake up at 4 to drive to John F. Kennedy airport. We took two flights one to Columbia and then one to Ecuador. When we got to ecuador we first went to our hotel a small one but very nice considering we were in a third world country. For the next week we would be bonding, going on bike rides, walking in caves, and white water rafting. The first week was so fun and I learned so much about everyone on the trip including some new things about myself. After the first week was over I was completely immersed in the ecuadorian culture and the other people on the trip felt like family to me. I did not know it yet

It showed me many new things. It showed me how to bond as a group, how to become independant away from home. The trip made me grateful for all the privileges I have back in the United States. To see the kids at the school moved me, for they were so happy at school, even though they had so little. The trip really made me think of how I should take every opportunity I am handed, for there are kids in other parts of the world that would do anything to have what I
The experience that changed my life was a mission trip to Trinidad. We shared the gospel of Christ with the people of the island. We were able to get to know the children through backyard Bible studies and played games with them. It is an experience that remains dear to my heart.
Ecuador is one of the smallest countries of South America. It lies on the West Coast of the continent between Colombia and Peru. The equator crosses Ecuador and gives the country its name. Ecuador is the Spanish word for equator.
Everyone says cancun is great.I would love to go to cancun because there is ziplines, cool islands, and a huge snorkaling and scubadiving park.
It helped me grow a lot as a person and experience what it would be like to have a certain job. This was also a worthwhile experience because of the memories I will now have forever. At one point during the trip I This was a trip I will never forget. Mr. Anderson was really nice and fun. It was very nice of him to take time out of his busy schedule to show me around.
We were at the border between Mexico and America. I had never been here before and I was anxious. There were so many police walking around. We were going to the place where my dad lived when he was younger. This has shaped me into the person I am today because I saw how hard it is to live over there. I met a lot of my relatives. The food over there was so much better.
An experience that has made a profound impact on my life was when I directed and completed a community service project to fulfill a requirement for the Eagle Scout Award in the Boy Scouts of America. In order to competently act as coordinator for this service project, I had to develop both my interpersonal communication and leadership capabilities to a proficient level. Besides improving my professional skills, this project gave me the opportunity gain hands on experience working with groups of people who had varying skill levels. So, not only did these skills allow me to complete the project successfully, they have also proven incredibly useful throughout my academic career.
This baseline will only reflect the cultural awareness of Ecuador. I’m also going to discuss why Ecuador could be beneficial for the country of the United States, simply because of their natural resources. Even though it is considered a third world country, it has a lot of potential to be one of the most prosperous countries in South America due to the products it has to offer. Ecuador, is a democratic republic country in South America, and is surrounded by Colombia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean on the west. This country also includes the well-known Galapagos Islands in the Pacific, about 600 miles west of the mainland. Ecuador straddles the equator, from which it takes its name. Ecuador’s overall landscape
If there’s one event that has made a huge impact in my life it would have to be a roll over car accident that my parents, aunt, and I were when I was in sixth grade. This car accident has impacted me negatively by leaving me with PTSD and positively by figuring out what career I am pursuing.
Agriculture has been the central figure of Ecuador’s economy for most of the country’s history. Agriculture is the second largest section of the economy. Coffee, bananas, and cacao, which is used to make chocolate, have been long important agricultural products. Forty percent of the country’ export earnings come from the crops. Ecuador is the world’s top supplier of bananas. Banana farms spread out around the city of Machala on the southern coast. Coffee and cacao are also important crops grown for export. In addition to large scale farming, Ecuador has many small farms. In 1964 a law broke up large farms and gave small plots of land to local people. These farms are about 12 acres in size. The people who farm them typically grow enough food
This is one of my thresholds that happened last year. My experience on the short-term missions trip changed my view of the world. The trip was only a week long, but during that time, I experienced many things that changed my life. The missions trip was to Boston, to help the homeless people there. Instead of calling them, "homeless," we would say, "people affected by homelessness."
Everyone has an event in their life that helped changed them in some way or stood out to them in some type of way in their life. Rather if it is, something like a birth of a child, a death of a family member or even receiving a job. A significant event in my life and helped me grow as a person was when I decided to pack up and move to Houston, Texas. My move to Texas may have been short but in that short period it helped me to grow to be more independent and to provide for myself and much more. When I made the moved to Texas, I moved with family members that I knew but I was not close with it.
In Afro-Ecuadorian communities throughout Ecuador, the focus of intercultural education programs materialized in many initiatives in the educational communities. At the school level, Afro-Ecuadorian policy leaders established two instructional institutions as the pioneers of ethno-educational studies in Ecuador: These are the Simon Bolivar University masters program in Afro-Andina studies in Quito and the high school program at the Colegio Nacional in the Cho Mira Valley region. There purpose was to foment scholarly research of the discourse of Afro-Ecuadorian educational experiences throughout the country. Leaders also developed similar initiatives at the primary level as well (Johnson, 2014)..
Everyone in their life has had something happen to them that influenced them somehow, whether it was something big or little, good or bad. Some examples would be a death of a family member or a close friend, but it could also be being nominated for something outstanding that sets the course for the rest of their life. I have a lot of things in my life that have impacted me in some way or influenced how I saw something. An experience that has greatly impacted my life and influenced me would be moving. The move that my family and I recently went through impacted my entire life a great deal, and it influenced me to see things in a bigger way, to appreciate the little things more, and to always try to see things from a different perspective.
It was a very exhilarating experience and taught me so much about political issues in our country. Now a senior in high school, I have experienced many new and exciting opportunities to expand my horizons. In all, I honestly enjoy and appreciate new and all of my experiences because it has shaped who I am as an individual. From a freshman to now a senior, I have grown mentally, spiritually, and overall wiser to be college ready. My learned and acquired skills have turned me into the strong individual that I am
An accident last year changed my attitude towards life . That accident had a great impact on me , it taught me to treasure what i have and to treasure those people around me more . Although the accident was not life threatening , it was still the scariest thing i had ever been through in life . It was an accident that no one would have expected and wanted it to happen .
