Tampa is home to many great historical landmarks and architecture, with a rich diverse culture one is bound to find something new around each block. Ybor City being the small “city” that it is home to almost 1,000 historical buildings, some have been well kept and some have been left to decay. The history you can see in each building is astounding and it is like taking a step into a Latin melting pot of sorts. Many people may feel this area of Tampa should be destroyed and built anew, however there is much to see and do in Ybor and without it a vital part of one of the founding areas would be lost forever.
Where it all began
Vicente Martinez-Ybor moved his successful cigar business from Key West, Fl to what is now the city named after him Ybor city. For his business he needed a large and stable structure to withstand the ever changing Florida weather with its …show more content…

Upon entering the circular courtyard surrounded by lush greenery, you will see staples from the Colonial Spanish Revival time period such as the steps that lead into the building with hand painted tiles at the base and the abundant windows that once served as lighting for the workers of the factory. Stepping through the curved archway entrance above is the original tin glossed ceiling that shines like a new penny. The thick wooden beams reflect light from all sides and the floor matches. As you step through each room they seem to grow with the high archways that lead from room to room. Sunlight pours through the windows and provides a natural soft glow and warmth to each room. The same red brick that you see on the outside of the building is left exposed inside as well it makes the office rooms and study area feel
