From reading and studying many articles I have learned that when heavy toxic materials enter our bodies, it causes TP53 to become active. When uranium enters our body, it is more dangerous than the other materials (chrome, Cd, mercury & lead), because it does the exact opposite. It makes TP53 inactive rather than active, as a result it causes cancer. Because of this TP53 can’t fix the damage uranium has done, since it is inactive. Consider this, there is no known solution for this specific problem. Over the course of time researchers have tried numerous times to discover a solution for uranium poisoning. When uranium enters our body through inhalation, the uranium has the ability to dissolve within the lungs, which can lead the uranium to be transported by the blood to other parts of the body such as the spleen, brain, kidney, and other organs. Uranium can remain within the kidney and brain for a significant amount of time because of its high concentration, while remaining for a shorter period of time within the plasma. Citric acid and citrate salts have the ability to protect the body from uranium toxicity with possible side effects such as diarrhea and nausea. While researchers have tried to develop different methods to reduce or remove uranium toxicity, not all chelating compounds can treat uranium effects [3]. These researchers have found that some metals have many biological functions in contrast to uranium which has limited biological activity. Fifty years later, the U.S government studies stated that over 80,000 people who lived or were born in the U.S suffered from cancer caused by radioactive fall-out from nuclear testing. From the Nevada Test Site the winds carried nuclear radiation fallout, filled with “iodine-131” which caused “75,000 thyroid cancers, ten percent of which are estimated to have been fatal, and strontium-90 and cesium-137, which are dangerous for between 280 and 300 years,” (nukewatch) likely causes of bone and skin cancer and leukemia. Characters bring a variety of purpose and perspectives to a story. Some characters stand out more than others; some have more depth, while in contrast some have less. In most cases, we become primarily familiar with the main characters in a narrative. Dominican-American writer, Junot Daz, employs a main character who brings a youthful perspective in his short story The Money. Boxer and Napoleon are two very different characters; they are not similar in any way. Boxer cares about the animals and would do anything for them and Napoleon only seems to care about himself and thinks of the animals as slaves. The animals on the farm seem to respect Boxer very highly but they are terrified of Napoleon and his bodyguards. The animals, because of their respect for Boxer, would do anything for him out of their own good will, but the only reason that they might do anything for Napoleon is because they know if they don't, Napoleon will do something to them, or maybe not give them any food. Although for Boxer this is not true because he is a gullible character and trusts Napoleon with his life and would do anything for him.

Cancer is a genetic, heritable disease in which abnormal cells divide rapidly destroying normal body cells, often being fatal. Cancer can occur in any body tissue; skin, organs, and parts of the reproductive system (Duda). There are various activities linked to different types of cancer, such as smoking, too much sun exposure, gene mutations, carcinogens, and viruses. A major cause of cancer, dating all the way back to the 1950’s, is radiation. Atomic testing ordered by the U.S. Government has been suspected to be the cause of many deaths linked to radiation-related diseases (Williams 149).
It is not until recently that people have become dependent on this element, and not necessarily for the good of it, and the world. There is an obsession with uranium because of its unique properties. Uranium is extremely powerful because of its radioactive properties and unstable nuclei, especially that of Uranium-235. It is able to break down and release high frequency radiation through alpha and beta decay. It is because of these characteristics that Uranium has such a craze on the population of the world (Cox, 1995; Scerri, 2007). The properties of uranium allow people to create powerful plants to produce electricity, and weapons strong enough to destroy the world.

The people living in the city of Fallujah are trying simply wanting to live and the use of DU as a conventional war weapon is destructive by killing people, or compromising their health. It makes it difficult to go to work when a person develops cancer and is too tired and sick to get out of bed.
