During the years between 1840 and 1890, the land west of the Mississippi River experienced a wild and sporadic growth. The natural environment contributed greatly to this growth spurt and helped shape the development of the trans-Mississippi west. The natural environment dictated and facilitated the development of the west by way of determining who settled where, how the people survived, why people wanted to settle, and whether they were successful or not.

Often people had different visions, ideas and methods this influenced leaders for many decades and impacted politically and the economic development of these countries.
The Western Front was the main location of war during World War 1. The outcome of the battles resulted in the formation of a battle front, which saw three years of warfare in 1915, 1916 and 1917, with only a few months of mobile warfare at the start and at the end of four years of fighting.
The Marine Corps gained significant recognition because of its participation in small wars on behalf of Untied States interests. Small wars are conflicts and interventions that occur in place of an actual declaration of war. Many small wars have occurred due to the United States’ interpretation of the Monroe Doctrine and the subsequent Roosevelt Corollary. During 1823, President Monroe warned European nations in regards to interference in the American Colonies. The doctrine also stated that the US would not interfere in relations of current European nations.
Thomas Jefferson was elected vice president in 1796, with John Adams winning the presidential vote by only three. Jefferson was passive in his vice presidency, while Adams was very involved in the undeclared war between America and France, known as the Quasi War. Adams raised taxes on the American people to pay for his naval endeavors in the Quasi War, one of which was paying pirates on the coast of Africa to not capture American ships. Thomas Jefferson did not agree with this. He wrote in a letter to John Adams that "I acknolege [sic] I very early thought it would be best to effect a peace thro' the medium of war."
The belligerents were the French and the Americans. The cause of the Quasi War was Americans not wanting to trade goods. Plus they also didn’t want to buy goods from France. It was an undeclared war between the United States and France, the Quasi-War was the result of disagreements over treaties and America's decision as being neutral in the Wars of the French Revolution. This battle was mainly fought at sea and the Quasi-War was a huge success for the US Navy because its vessels captured numerous French privateers and warship while the US only lost one ship.
The end of the war period had cause a recession for them and a large portion of American society involved in farming had become bankrupt. The war led to an expansion and increase in the federal government's power. Between 1921 and 1933, the Republican Party dominated American political life. . During the Republican Ascendancy 1921-29, there were three presidents. A classic president from this period was "silent Cal", Calvin Coolidge (1924-28), who believed that there was no reason for him to intervene except to veto suggestions from men in congress more active than him.
Throughout history different religious groups had varying opinions of war. Some religions, such as Confucianism and Hinduism, supported war and respected men that served in their military. Whereas, other religions, like, Christianity and Buddhism, condemned war totally. After reading these religion-based documents three different groups emerged; those who supported war, those who tolerated war, and those who opposed war.
Prior to the war, a great military build-up occurred, which also played a factor in the
Like love, war is full of pain and suffering. The writers sum up in their own opinion about the war to try and get a big grasp on the story. What I mean by taking the story and to grasp the big idea is to shorten the story till you understand and can tell what the story means. What tools can the writers protest for the war?
Violence escalated when colonists believed that extermination was the only way, to expand their lands, and it was the easiest way to eliminate them for good. Wars against natives were justified because of fear from colonists, wanting to protect themselves; Edward, Waterhouse created A Declaration of the State of the Colony and Affaires in Virginia, Waterhouse believed natives wanted to exterminate them, therefore an attack would be relevant to stop them. Along with finding a justification as to why it was okay attack natives in a brutal way, new war fighting styles were introduced the colonial officials. Scalp bounties first appeared in the middle of 1670, and this method was used to promote and offer rewards for native scalps; these bounties were rewarded in either monetary value or items needed.
World War I was a great loss both physically and emotionally. It was a conflict between the Allies and the Central Powers from 1914 to 1918. More than 15 million people were killed in battled, making it one of the most deadly conflicts in history. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria- Hungary was seen as the trigger of the war. The war was described as a world war, a total war, and a modern war. A world war because it involved the whole world. A total war because people used maximum resources for the purpose of the war. A modern war because the people used technological and industrial mobilization.
In that case, the World War I should be taken as a total war since it was a complete contrast to the sort of limited wars that were experienced in the 18th century that were always small, where people did try to avoid battle; they made sure that they did not touch the society nor continue with the trading systems
World War II brought the US out of this period of slow growth. The military needed tanks, planes, guns, and everything else needed for the war effort. People were either back to work or overseas fighting. Production and growth rates reached new highs.
