Just how old is too old to trick or treat? Should the government place an age limit on teens for trick-or-treating , or should teens be able to get free candy? There was a conflict on social media over “how old is too old because people don't want a sixteen year old coming to their doors saying trick-or-treat, demanding for candy when they are at the age to get a job and buy their own. ” and “can't these children find something else to do then get candy that is for the younger kids in the neighborhood “. As the parents and non-parents argued all over facebook and blogs, they all had different opinions about it all and even one town in Candia banned trick-or-treating According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation . The new policy would forbid those over the age of sixteen from trick-or-treating, and have a curfew of 8 p.m. in Bathurst, New Brunswick. There shouldn't be a age limit for the non troubled teens trying to get some free candy, but there should be a curfew because if they are knocking on people's houses the owners of the houses are going to want to see who is 5 foot tall and not a child standing at their door before mistaking them for an intruder. …show more content…
If the government wanted to pace a law like Canada but switched the age limit for an curfew instead than the home owners and the teenagers that are going to get candy conflict will be solved with this reasonable well grounded solution . That the government can create to both be equal to both parts playing on this disagreement that is buzzing all over the world , should
My opinion is that curfew was set to protect minors but, there are plenty of reason why a minor would be out passed curfew and there should be system where some minors can exempt the law like having parental permission.
First and foremost, if the city council mandates the curfew law, they could help secure the protection of adolescence driving or hanging out at late hours of the night. Did you know that teenagers that are driving
Is very good that the State wants to care for minors, establishing curfew, but I think that there are more ways to care for them. they can be warn parents of the dangers of the night, and give guidance on the upbringing of a minor, but they cannot force them to do things they are not agree with, since in the end the parent is who decides to give permission or not, because is the one in
Should there be a limit of age for teenagers to stop trick-or-treating? It might not be the best idea. Why? Because it helps teens to stay away from bad influences. Another reason to not cap the age for trick-or-treating is thinking of children and teenagers with special needs.
Pennsylvania police, for instance, reported that a 13-year-old trick-or-treater in Montgomery County had found a razor blade secreted in the wrapped candy Nestle Crunch bar given to him on the Halloween night (Towamencin). A mother in Kaisertown complained to police about pieces of glass in Tootsie Pops that her children were given during trick or treating (The Buffalo News). Also, a father in Auburn, Main, said his child found a sewing needle concealed in a Snickers bar received while trick-or-treating (The Babgir Daily News). Fortunately, none of the trick-or-treaters claimed the life of the children, but these criminals still hasn't been caught yet. Can the parents be relieved to hear that any children didn’t die from the candies? The candies may show that potential sadists were hiding behind the door or that someone just played a trick. The fact we know so far is that these candies could be fatal if trick-or-treaters ate. As long as these crimes have been reported, parents would never consider that Halloween goodies are utterly
I think that their definitely needs to be an age limit. I think that also if you have ever had killed somebody or have had some type of criminal crime then you should not be able to trick or treat. Also once you have graduated high school or reach an age 0f 20 that you should not be able to trick or treat. I think that trick or treating is meant for little kids and once you get to a certain age you probably wouldn't trick or treat even if you could.
Even though some businesses may say teenagers are obnoxious; however, business should not have the right to ban teenagers because it is a violation of civil rights.Banning teens from Munchy’s is a discrimination on the basis of age and a violation of their civil rights. Business people should not judge teens because of their age or type of person they are. This is a violation of civil rights, which states that all individuals have the right to equal treatment, and at Munchy’s teens should be given a second chance to prove that they are not what the business claims they are. Munchy’s banning teens is wrong because they should not care about their
Although many people think teenagers should be home by 10, but I think teenagers should have the curfew because they are young adults, they know right from wrong, they should know not to get in trouble.
The victims of discrimination are sometimes portrayed as the evil ones. In Divergent by Veronica Roth, a girl named Tris has the power of being divergent which allows her to resist serums and certain things that make her think differently, because of these things she is often discriminated against by groups of people and try to kill her. In a similar text, Malcolm X By Any Means Necessary by Walter Dean Myers a young African American man is trying to live the American dream but realizes he can’t because of the racism and discrimination he is undergoing and decides to live a life of religion. In Divergent Veronica Roth suggests that people who are discriminated against have more power than those discriminating and should
Many teenagers have a set time they have to be home by their parents. Usually teenagers must be home from dates and nights out with friends by anywhere from 10 o’clock at night to 2 o’clock in the morning. Each parent has extremely different curfews set for their children, based on the individual level of responsibility and trust levels. Some local government decides to set their own curfews, to keep teens off the streets at night and out of trouble. Many people argue whether this actually solves anything, or is even legal to do, since it is taking away a piece of teenager’s freedom. Although there are many good and bad points to enforcing curfews, they should be less enforced because they do not necessarily keep teens out of trouble,
Now a days there are many teenagers going out late at night without any supervision. Many of them just go out to cause/look for trouble and get hurt. Usually, there is a higher risk of teenagers doing illegal things at night, for that reason, there should be curfews to prevent them from doing these things. Police officers are finding new ways to enforce curfew laws. The curfew in Orange County begins at 10 p.m. or 11 p.m., depending on the city, and last until 5am. Police officers have started to do “curfew sweeps” (looking out for teenagers past the designated hours) and have actually gotten young teens in trouble. Police officers should conduct more curfew sweeps because it helps their community's crime rate decrease, helps teenager get out of uncomfortable situations, and finally it will help parents keep their kids under control.
The mall is putting an eight o-clock curfew for kids under the age of 18. I agree with this statement because kids gets dark go missing when it goes dark. One of my reasons, I agree with this statement is because when kids get out later than eight o-clock they will have less time to go sleep. If kids get out out late they will to sleep less and will have less energy for the next
Were you ever walking to the store for a late night snack but its past curfew, and you get stopped and then you end up getting a fine just because you wanted a snack. Many teenagers aren’t doing anything illegal but are past curfew and get wrongfully accused of doing things they were never going to do. Curfews don’t keep teens out of trouble because they violate rights, ineffective and costly, and it wastes time.
Should we have a curfew? This is a question that parents have asked themselves for a long time. This is also a question that kids have asked. I guess most parents would say we need curfew while most kids would say, but not all, that we don't. I myself think I have some reason why we do need a curfew. I've written below some of my reasons as to why have a curfew. Why culture in my opinion is actually a good thing. As you read some of the reasons think you will agree with me!
Having a teenage curfew is ineffective and useless. Many people argue that the curfews are necessary because it will keep young people out of trouble. They also say that teenagers are more likely to get in trouble late than they would during daylight. Teens are looked at as the age group that causes the most trouble, and society targets them when it comes to matter for crime, however many people believe that teens are responsible for a large percentage of crimes and that having a curfew in effect will help lower crime rates. I disagree with this because I don't think teenagers should be forced to follow a ridged time schedule because of a curfew.
