To Live Reflective Statement

My fascination with the Vietnam War began when I went on holidays and crawled into the tunnels tight enough to make even a small eight year old claustrophobic. I wondered how adults survived in the war by using this tunnels. This personally influenced my perspective on the Vietnam War and marked my interest in this piece of history. In my Preliminary HSC Advanced English classes I was told to choose a political perspective in poetry. I chose Levertov, who wrote about the effects of the Vietnam War on people. In my Extension One English classes I learnt about literature as a representation of the author’s culture. These two main ideas and childhood interest in the Vietnam War became the starting point for my Major Work.

This key experience challenged me to learn very early on that I had quickly formed an opinion of the individuals I was working with, which caused me to judge these clients based on what I thought I knew. I felt very quickly in my work with these individuals that the older gentleman would need more help with activities as I felt he likely had a learning disability based on the fact that he walked a little slower as if shuffling and the fact that his speech was not clear. The younger gentleman I felt would be easy to work with as I did not anticipate or note any areas that I felt he would have difficulty in. In this reflective statement I am going to discuss about presentation I did together as a group and individually. The main aim of this reflection statement is to describe how I and my team mates worked while we took the responsibility to work on this project. The main reason for writing this reflective statement is to carry my experience of working in a team and how I managed challenges. The reflective statement is a personal record of my learning experiences. This journal is going to include my inspirations, how I came up with ideas to build up my work and my awareness of the position in which I work.

I am writing to respectfully apply for readmission to XXXXX at XXXXX University for the 2018 spring semester. I matriculated in the fall of 2016 but was dismissed in the spring of 2017 for my inadequate academic performance. I understand that it was my own negligence that created the circumstances for my dismissal, and I have worked to regain my credibility.

On this subject ENGG942-Professional Practice which is an annual subject. In the first semester(Autumn) the subject deals with personality development by creating resumes, job application, mock interviews and CDR (Competency Demonstration Report) for engineers. Recollection of past experiences has proven to be one of the best teaching tools in existence. It is not just the reminiscing of the past that benefits us; it is the critical thinking that follows said reminiscing that is the most fruitful. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say, and much can be learned when reflecting on past situations. These observations, in turn, have the potential to guide our future decision making as well as our future actions. As I ponder the events and actions that have lead me up to this point, I have found that I have done much better at handling my workload and personal life simultaneously than I previously assumed I would. If all goes marvelous and I continue forward through this semester while maintaining my current work ethic, I postulate that I will finish this semester strong and continue to not only learn, but to fully integrate all of this fresh knowledge into my mind to be readily available for years to come.

In my position as a family partner, my duties involve helping families, assessing their needs, completing goals, and exploring options to resolve situations that are triggering for them. To do so, I have to obtain personal information that is often sensitive and complex. Families are often afraid of sharing some information, because they fear it could lead to their children being removed from home. The organization I work for, focuses on strengthening care givers’ ability to care for themselves and their children. Our main goal is giving caregivers the opportunity to learn new skills and be the best they can be, while respecting their autonomy.

During this year I had the chance to work and achieve my goals, put into practice my experience to demonstrate my abilities to solve problems and help to achieve common goals as a team in the new challenges presented in the design of an isolation product. Also, I had the opportunity to continue learning and growing as an engineer, expanding my experience to isolation products. Had the opportunity to work on the design on two blocks in the si89200, the modulator and isolation channel. The isolation channel was an excellent experience because it gave me the opportunity to gain more experience in the requirements of an isolation product. Also, had to opportunity to mentor and work closely with the summer intern.

Opening my eyes slowly, I could see millions of cracks cascading my windshield. Trying to move, as the pain began jolting through my body. A surprised voice, grabbing my attention as I became conscious. He was telling me to stay still, as the sound of the saw ate away at my door. I realized then that I was in a terrible car accident and somehow, I survived. This was the moment that changed my life, the moment that Jesus took the wheel. The writing I did this semester for Engl 110c has meant alot to me because I was able to pick a topic that has such a huge impact in my life. I was able to do the topic about Navy Wives, which has a huge impact on me. I recently became a navy wife a year ago and my life has changed drastically. I was able to share everything I wanted to about the life of a military wife through my writings, as well as share to my classmates about my topic. I really enjoyed creating my ePortfolio because I could come out of my shell and be me. I made a ePortfolio website that would be for military wives to read. I believe this website would be perfect for any military wife reading it. I was able to give tips and information on what it’s like to be a military wife, how to prepare for deployments and how to stay strong being a military wife.

I’ve always learned best by relating lecture concepts to my personal life, and this class is no different. I’ve been challenged to see my own development through the perspectives and theories set by psychologists before me, bringing new light to my occasionally quirky personality. The biopsychosocial breaks down into biological – meaning brain processing and genetics, psychological – referring to personal thoughts and motives, and social or environmental situations – the influence of others that shapes who someone may become. Life cycle forces can be attributed with the generation of seemingly new traits as well.

As an individual there were many things that I have found out about myself through learning in the process of working on the Business Plan. One of the strengths that I have found out about myself is that I found myself capable of carrying out more than one task at the same time. Also while I was doing my research on market analysis I found out that most of the information needed is available on the internet which made it easier for me to write my report. I have also found out that I tend to work better in a group because when i working in a group I know what tasks i need to complete and also be able to discuss them with other group members to find out whether my work is up to standards or not. The aim of the reflective essay is to highlight my own personal development skills that I have developed during first semester of my module. However, in this report I will make sure my learning ability phase and what this module has allowed me to work and understand in improving my personal skills and purpose. My major aim is to develop and assess an in depth range of my personal traits as a student in order to endorse my future development plan.
