Wearing his blue robe, embroidered with the royal crest, and the black metal crown that was made at the castle blacksmith shop, the king appeared to be worried or troubled. With his right hand resting on the handle of his long sword, he would occasionally stroke his beard, which like hair is completely white, with his left hand. With a stern and demanding look on his face, the king made eye contact with each person sitting on the other side of the table as he walked by. Stopping when he got to Titus, the king looked the boy for a moment, then started to walk away. Stopping he turned to look at the boy again. He has seen the lad scurrying around the cattle from time to time. Titus, he recalled, was always on the move, looking as …show more content…
He also mentioned that the boy had taken over some of the wizard's mundane duties because of the wizard advanced age. The lad, said the adviser, “Knows the name and ranks of all the knights, and their seating order in both the grand hall and banquet rooms.” Titus, the king was told, ‘Can also predict the weather,” “And he can do it with amazing accuracy.” Titus appears to be of average height for a boy in his early teens. However, his body frame is a little smaller than most of the boys his size. While the others like to Pretend, they are knights fighting dragons or invaders. Titus prefers to read, and to practice the magic being taught to him by the royal wizard. Titus occasionally joins the other in their fantasy world, and plays with a wood, or unsharpened metal sword. However, his lack of experience and strength to defend himself, is often laughed at by his companions. Should the truth be known, the magic used by wizards and warlocks is much more powerful than the sword, or bow and arrows used by the knights, and can stop either in …show more content…
However, he has enough freckles on his face and arms to fill a small water bucket. Over the years, so many people have made comments about his freckles that he is not sure if he should be proud or ashamed of them. “There is absolutely no reason to be embarrassed by your freckles,” His mentor the royal wizard says. “Look at them as memory spots, every time you learn something new, you get another one.” In fact, he has so many freckles that some of his friends call him spots, a nickname that he has grown use too. . No one is sure of how old the boy is because, both his father, a knight, and his mother were killed several years ago while fighting off the Vikings who invaded the castle. Herman the royal wizard, a gray-headed older man of average height and slender build, with a slight hunch to his upper body, a long-time friend of the family, took the boy in, and is raising him as his own son. The wizard, sitting between two knights decked out in their shiniest armor, is usually dressed is black boots, loose-fitting gray pants with a fluffy sleeved dark-blue tunic tied at the waist with a slim rope. However, today he is wearing a bright green tunic that reflects in the shining
The small samurai began practicing the basics of fencing with wooden swords at the age of 3, being given a real weapon, a mamorigatana sword for self-defence, between the ages of 5 and 7. A child was required to be able to protect itself from surrounding dangers, family enemies, robbers and vagrants, with his father and male relatives providing early combat training. The boys were sent to be raised by relatives or to the home of a fencing instructor, where they were taught military skills, archery, riding, handling a spear and unarmed combat, jujutsu, i.e. yawara. Attention also contributed to the development of intellectual virtues. There wasn’t a special school for Samurai daughters, who learned how to be good wives and housekeepers from their mothers. These young women also had to learn how to write Japanese syllabic symbols and read classic Japanese literature and poetry, while also receiving weapons training, e.g., in using the naginata spear. The knight’s childhood started with them becoming a Page. The Medieval Page of the Middle Ages was little more than a child. But his training commenced from the age of seven. The duties of a knight were seen as the combat duties and those duties were similar to serving the lords and ladies. The Knighthood training began in earnest as a Page when all their games and sports were geared towards learning skills related to horsemanship, the two-handed sword, battle axe,

The two men made their way back the way they came until they came across a pair of maids who took the king away to his room. Kragen watched with cold yet amused eyes. The king grew weaker and weaker every day but not a shred of remorse was given to him by his so-called friend. After all, it was all part of his
A knight’s armor helped show his rank and protect him. Chain mail was the most common type of armor. It was created by lots of tiny interlocking metal loops. It took from five thousand to twenty thousand rings, depending on the knight’s size. The hard-metal rings were woven into flexible outer garments and protected from blows from sword. Since the links were made of solid metal, just the shirt-like-piece, called a hauberk, could weigh up to twenty pounds. A knight’s armor consisted of eight individual pieces; the helmet, visor, collar, cuirass, gauntlet, cuisse, poleyn, and sabaton. A helmet was one of the most important pieces of his armor; it protected his head. A knight wore a visor that was a piece of metal that could move freely on a hinge. The collar protects the neck from the breastplate. The cuirass is a piece of metal that protects the chest area. The gauntlet is a metal mesh that protects the hands. The cuisse is a sheet of metal the covers the thigh. The poleyn is a piece of bendable metal that covers the knee while allowing movement. The sabaton is a shoe that has a pointed toe to double as a
Knight’s armor is crucial as it protects and shows their social class. In the beginning he would use Sir Ector’s armor a very basic armor. As it was simply formed around Sir Ector’s body made of iron and had no detail what so ever. It was basic armor simply to get by in jousting, protecting the jouster from a blow. William (Sir Ulrich) would wear this and would not properly fit him. He would wear this armor up until it split in a jousting battle. Made of iron a weak metal and after numerous blows will fracture. He finds a woman named kate who would fix him up new armor except extraordinary well compared to others. As this armor was something new to the medieval times. Armor made of steel something more durable than iron and could take more of an impact without damage dealt. William astonished by this has the armor tested where he is then
When people think of knights, they picture strong, brave, helpful, and selfless men. Gawaine le Coeur-Hardy of Heywood Broun’s “The Fifty-first Dragon”, despite being enrolled in an elite knight school, cannot be described as any of those. Instead, he is overall better described as fearful, insecure and dull. His unenthusiasm about learning any skills of the knight serves as a detriment to his character, causing his peers and teachers to think of him as lazy, a trait that I can somewhat relate to. Despite our one small similarity, Gawaine and I differ drastically in several ways. He is unintelligent, cocky, and gullible, whereas I am the complete opposite on all three accounts.
“King Patrick! Show yourself you-” there were an ongoing flow of curse words. The others flung dirt and bellowed after each one. I stood as distant as possible to said protest, observing the huge sculpted podium that Tyler, the King’s right hand man approached. Protectors were on his left and right and were clothed in polished, metal armor that was skillfully engraved with a symbol of
Freckles are flat, pale brown-pigmented globules found on the skin. Most of the time, they are completely harmless and don’t associate with any type of sickness. Additionally, they don’t contain any melanocytes, which also means that there’s no risk for a freckle to develop into something hazardous. On the other hand, moles are composed of melanocytes and has the ability to develop into something perilous. Freckles are caused by the increased coloration in the basal layer of the epidermis whereas moles generally are deeper in the dermis. Freckles are considered temporary and often fade over time. There is no such thing as a typical mole because they range in various colors, shapes, and sizes. Some moles could be irregularly shaped and others

In Disney’s The Sword and the Stone, Merlin fulfills the role of the mentor as described by the hero’s
Freckles are clusters of concentrated melanin which are most often visible on people with a fair complexion. Freckles do not have an increased number of melanin-producing cells (melanocytes), but instead have cells that overproduce melanin granules changing the coloration of the skin (increased number of melanosomes). These lesions can be removed by multiple sessions of Combination peel with nano fractional radiofrequency
Once when I in first grade every first the teacher would select a student and have them sit in the front of the class. Everyone would then go around the room and say a feature that they liked about the student at the front. There was one girl, in particular, Haley, who was up and by the time it got to me, most compliments had already been said, (you couldn’t say the same one as someone else) at this point in my life I thought freckles were marvelously stylish and I had always wanted them, and she had lots of freckles. My mom use to tell my that freckles were kisses from the sun, which made me want them even more. I said “Haley has freckles” and everyone started laughing at her, not to mention my teacher looked like she was about to blow a gasket.

The students liked to tease her that she couldn't get rid of the lone freckle on her left cheek no matter how much plastic surgery she gets. Which is the reason why she covers her face with lots of powder EXCEPT for that part of her
Something people should know about me is that I consider my unique physical traits to be symbols of beauty as they represent my individuality and set me apart from other people. The pink birthmark that covers most of my left arm is the first thing most people notice about me and with pity in their eyes, ask if I am a burn victim or if I have an incurable disease. My first dermatologist in the United States even asked me, for no medical reason, if I wanted to remove my birthmark with lasers. Followers of beauty standards consider my birthmark a hideous cosmetic characteristic that is completely undesirable and should be removed at any cost. During middle school, my friends also asked me if there were medical treatments to "help" me, which shocked
