Thugged Out. A Four-book series that involves a lot of drama, gangster activity, and love. This series of books were written by a young girl named Eerie Renee, who is from Memphis, Tennessee. When she started this series she was Sixteen years old, making me Fourteen years old when I started reading her first book. Her books give a real-life experience of what she has seen the people around her go through and experience in their own life. When she started this series she was not the amazing writer she is now, although she was not as bad she still improved a lot since she has matured. In her first book, it starts off with three characters, which is: Jessica Black, Darius Black, and Antasia Mitchell. Jessica Black is a broken teenage girl who has been in many foster homes because of her parents' death. Jessica is considered broken because, she has been sexually assaulted, abused in many ways, and put through way more than what a teenage girl should go through. Although Jessica has been in and out …show more content…

In Unbroken, by Lauren Hillenbrand the setting plays a significant role. The story starts the childhood of a man named Louie. He grew up with his Italian family in Torrance, California during the 1920s and 30s. He was the middle child and was considered a troublemaker. Because of his behavior, his behavior, his older brother, Pete, made him try out for the track. His performance was amazing and as a result he was allowed to join the team. Everyday he was training with his brother. He won all of yhe local track meets and went on to run in the 1936 olympics in Germany. He ran the 5,000 meter race. Even though he finished in 7th place, he broke the world record for the fastest final lap with 56 seconds. Louie was determined to perform better in the 1940 olympics.
Many people have to go through difficult times, but many do not have to face what Louie Zamperini faced. Louie Zamperini was an Olympic athlete in WWII. While on a bombing run, he crashed in the Pacific Ocean and was stranded for 47 days at sea. He was captured, beaten, and torchered by the Japanese for two years. In Laura Hillenbrand’s book, Unbroken, Louie Zamperini showed rebelliousness and resistance while at the harsh POW camps, but uses these traits to survive the Japanese’s mind games and beatings.
Everyone liked her, she seemed to just brighten people’s day. She was someone who would call her friends when she got home, letting them know she got home safe. She bought her childhood home from her mom, months earlier, off of Highway 37. (Cobb, C) The night of her disappearance, she was out with her friends. When Jessica got home, she called her friends to let them know she made it home safe. No one realized it would be the last time they saw or even heard from her. Russell Williams videotaped what he did to her. She was blindfolded, and then he photographed her trying on her lingerie. He drove her to his house in Tweed, ON, and tortured her there. He ended her life with several blows to the head with the flash light and then he suffocated her. (Cobb,
“He gave up drinking and smoking.” Louie did exactly this, because he knew the potential he had in running, and wanted to reach that potential. Louie is the main character in the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Almost the whole story revolves around him, and his magnificent life. Louie has grown from being a very troubled young boy, to being a very mature, giving, and humble young man.
Organization of the book was impeccable. Ghettoside is written in a logical way explaining why this epidemic is taking place singling out the city of Los Angeles. The organization of the book was explained in a unique way. The relationship between the cops and gangs located in this city helps to keep the book organized and focused. The details used to explain the book start with general information of who was involved diving deeper into specifics which creates a complex web between the two groups
The last engine of the plan goes out as the crew of the “superman” hurls towards the ground; “Prepare for impact” was a understatement. An american biographical war thriller book, Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand describes Louis Zamperini life as he grows up from getting in trouble to becoming one of the most bravest and strongest people to date. In early childhood, Louis Zamperini grew up getting in trouble as much as possible, but as he grew older he became more of a man due to his new love for running. Running became such a passion and talent it brought him to the 1936 Summer olympics; unfortunately he only came in 8th. Louis later got drafted into the army where he became part of the “superman” crew in the United States Air Forces. Through traumatic events, he gets lost at sea and eventually gets captured to be sent to a camp of war. He faces many obstacles following the rest of the

What inspired the author to write a book about such a crazy thing? My book is called “ Hideout” by Watt Key. This book was published on January 10, 2017. It was published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux (BYR). It also has 320 riveting pages that won't let you put the book down! This is my absolute favorite book ever and is full of mystery and edge.
This book begins with the life of its author. She starts out as basically a slave child on a farm in Mississippi. She tells of her parent's lives, how they went to the fields at sun up and came back from them at sundown. She describes her abusive cousin, George Lee, and tells of a few traumatic childhood experiences. She goes on describing where her mother and fathers marital
“‘Yaqui Delgado wants to kick your ass.’ A kid named Vanessa told me this morning before school.” The very beginning of Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass, by Meg Medina, sets the tone for the rest of this book. By this statement, the story starts boldly and in a disarrayed manner. The reader is jolted by the surprise, much like bullying itself can do. Medina also provides insight into each of the main characters with this one alarming sentence. From the start, Vanessa is revealed as one of Yaqui’s puppets. The reader has a window into who Vanessa is in this moment as someone who perhaps isn’t doing what she wants. Yaqui, on the other hand, is revealed to be the antagonist. By the way she is introduced we can tell that Yaqui is aggressive;

Forge is the second novel in the Seeds of America Trilogy, a historical novel series by Laurie Halse Anderson. Geared towards middle-grade readers, the trilogy focuses on the story of Isabel, a 13-year-old African-American slave as she fights for her freedom and that of her younger sister as the events of the American Revolution rage around them. Praised for its historical accuracy and exploring themes of family, race relations in colonial America, and the intersection of major historical events with the lives of its historical characters, the series explores lesser-known moments in the era and incorporates actual quotes and documents from the period. These include the Declaration of Independence and Thomas Paine’s Common Sense. The first book
Not as good as the first, See How They Run, features Grace Blakely, the slightly crazy girl that shot her mother. Grace’s character had no time to develop, as guilted by the past, she runs around in circles, not figuring anything out until someone comes and helps her. The trio of friends (Noah, Megan and Rosie) are helpful, but not as much as the last novel, due to Grace not letting them in, or allowing them to fully participate. Brother Jamie is in this, which Carter did a good job on, as he’s loving, and caring, like a big brother should be, and there as a support to Grace (if only she used him!). Finally, what a young adult novel without any love interest, as Carter brings back Alexie, but not letting Grace have a final decision on him yet. With a good plot, and a steady story line, this book might not stick out compare to Carter’s other novels, but it is defiantly worth the read, as the ending of this book will leave you speechless and yearning for what comes
It is clear that the neighborhood surrounding the family believe that Jessica herself, as well as her family are crazy after the few encounters that they experience, because they that result in poor outcomes. Parallel, to
When experiencing an event, it can be viewed from 2 different perspectives. In the book Flipped Juliana and Bryce see each other with opposite perspectives. Juliana has a crush on Bryce, while Bryce thinks Juliana is annoying. Juliana is always trying to help Bryce, but Bryce is always trying to stay away from her. There are many ways that can happen, people can act like they are their friend but reality is the opposite. In the book Flipped, from Bryce's perspective, it mentions, "All I ever wanted is for Juli Baker to leave me alone "(Van Draanen 1). This explains Bryce's thoughts of Juliana in the beginning of the book.
