It's all like a game to him. Him.God. And it's all pretty much random. He takes out his pen and starts writing on our blank hearts. When it came to my turn, he wrote Sad. I don't like God very much. Apparently he doesn't like me very much
I am reading Flush, by Carl Hiaasen. Flush is a fiction book and it is fairly interesting. This book does not really catch my eye, it bores me more than anything. An important theme that stands out to me is how one cares very much about family, and would do a lot just to make them be happy. Noah, the main character knows nothing about what happened with his dad, but he is very worried.
Tony grew up with to the best upbringing and home life. When he was younger his father left him and his family behind and he has not had ay contact with

The book Always Running by Luis J. Rodriguez is about a boy or guy named Luis and his family. This book takes place in gang infested cities in Los Angeles. The action begins when Luis talks about him and his family. Then, after talking about his family the story goes to talk about how he joined a gang and did a lot of bad things as a teenager. Next, Luis about what he was doing and starts to think about what he is doing wrong and tries to change it. After that, Luis joins a boxing team to stop thinking and stop being involved with gangs. The story ends talking about how he want to be an example to his kids and doesn't want them to follow the wrong footsteps he did. The authors theme to this story I think is to keep going and not give up.
The book How to save a life, written by Sara Zarr, is about two young woman, Amanda “Mandy” Kalinowski and Jill MacSweeny, and their 7 week journey together. When Jill’s mother chooses to adopt Mandy’s baby, she becomes apart of Jill’s life in unexpected ways. The story goes back and forth in each chapter as you see life happening through the eyes of both Jill and Mandy. The reader sees opinions of each other in incidents such as arguments between the girls, and even flashbacks into Mandy/Jill’s past life. During the seven weeks Mandy moves into Jill’s house as she wait for her baby to come, a change that is going to alter both young women's lives.
Eleanor and Park’s class not only affects their relationships with their families, but also with each other. Park’s way of expressing his love reflects the loving nature that his family shows him. Park and his father both have an interest in women who are different. Park thinks that his Korean mother “kept the accent on purpose, because his dad liked it” (Rowell 46). Just as his dad marries a Korean woman – someone of a different race, Park starts a relationship with Eleanor – someone different from others. Both women’s appearances are different from their community, and both Park and his father come to love these differences. Park’s love for Eleanor is also expressed more greatly because Park knows love from his family. Unlike Park, Eleanor’s family expresses very minimal love (if any) towards her, which results in Eleanor’s held back love. Eleanor abandons Park at the end of the story like her mother abandoned her. Also, Eleanor keeps her love hidden even at the end when she writes a letter
Forge is the second novel in the Seeds of America Trilogy, a historical novel series by Laurie Halse Anderson. Geared towards middle-grade readers, the trilogy focuses on the story of Isabel, a 13-year-old African-American slave as she fights for her freedom and that of her younger sister as the events of the American Revolution rage around them. Praised for its historical accuracy and exploring themes of family, race relations in colonial America, and the intersection of major historical events with the lives of its historical characters, the series explores lesser-known moments in the era and incorporates actual quotes and documents from the period. These include the Declaration of Independence and Thomas Paine’s Common Sense. The first book
This novel is full of chance and hope. Eleanor and Park is not your typical love story. For starters, Eleanor likes to wear baggy men's shirts and too big mommy jeans. Eleanor has crazy, out of control, fire red, curly hair and is always bullied because of her appearance. Being covered in freckles from head to toe doesn't exactly help the situation either.
Everyone has their own beliefs on how God handles sinners, some people believe that He is doing his own version of ‘Karma’ or ‘Payback’ to a wrong choice that we made as humans. Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God, is a story that has some truth and also some exaggeration to it as well. In my opinion, God is teaching us right from wrong like a dad would teach his children not to stick their hand in the cookie jar before dinner. In this story, Jonathon Edwards is portraying what God is thinking when he sees sinners on the world by using: Imagery, Tone and Repetition.
He's also scaring people by telling them that they could go to Hell by the end of this year if they didn't come back to God. In order to scare people, he says things like: "How dreadful is the state of those that are daily and hourly in danger of this great wrath and infinite misery!" By using his choice of words, he's telling the people if you don’t believe in God you will be in misery forever. He uses the phrase 'wrath of God' to emphasize how evil God can be if you don't trust in Him or love him.
Eleanor dynamically changes as she spends time with Park because he accepts her for the person she is. Eleanor's first ride on the school bus is awkward. Nobody lets her sit with them and she knows why. They won’t let her
