Thor The Hero In the movie Thor, made in 2011, the main character and beholder of the “Mjolnir” Thor Odinson is the Asgardian God of thunder. He is the controller of the storms, causing rain, wind, thunder, and lightning whenever he wants, using his magical hammer, the “Mjolnir”. Thor displays the hero archetype by showing heart, bravery, and caring for others when he is able to overcome all of the obstacles thrown his way by his father and his brother Loki. However, not only does he have to overcome the obstacles thrown his way by his family, he has personal issues he needs to overcome. A lot of the issues he has to face head on in the film are due to being hard-headed and

Thor is a great example of a hero, and the movie is the exact definition of a hero. Hero’s not only look out for themselves, and save themselves from danger, they also keep the people closest to them save and out of danger. Thor encompasses the qualities society values the most, his physical appearance, as well as his arrogance, but his caring qualities at the same time. How exactly is Thor a hero you might be asking, it is quite simple: He is a revered warrior with a troublesome personality and is hugely arrogant, which is the reason he gets sent down to earth and he come to “heal” with a healthy dose of humility, he also saves a city, saves his homeland of Asgard, and uncloaks his brother Loki’s schemes. Thor has many personal issues he needs to resolve and overcome, but his heart is not one of those. He certainly does not lack heart in the film. He shows so many instances of heart and laying it all out on the line for himself and his friends. However, he is very hard-headed and prideful which he lets get the best of him sometimes. Those two reasons are exactly why he was banished from his homeland Asgard by his father Odin. In the beginning of the film, thor is being formally recognized as the crown prince of Asgard, as he was the next to be the king of Asgard when his father passed away, which his brother Loki did not like one bit. As the ceremony is going on, thor and all
There is a wicked side to Odin. He can be erratic and at times abuse his power by causing or initiating wars. This has surfaced with many rulers throughout history. If Odin were to be compared to a
That saves Thor and allows them to stay in the gods camp, where they discover that Thor’s hammer has been lost but not ‘officially lost’. They climb up a mountain and enter the giant’s home and claim guest rights, they kill the giantesses and Blitzen and Hearth join them again. Then they run into the giantess’s father, they kill him and get Thor his staff, but his hammer is still missing. Gunilla threatens to bring them back to Valhalla, but Sam saves the day by using the Valkyrie transport armband.
At the start of the journey, he was doing it for his people because they wanted their homeland back but when he got there, he didn’t care about his people but only care about the gold and the Arkenstone. Once they could not find the Arkenstone, Thorin began to not trust anyone including the dwarves that had followed him on the journey. The strong bond Thorin had with his dwarves was not there anymore, he even accuse them of stealing the Arkenstone. Building up strength and finding out the villain’s weakness during the journey was not for Thorin.
Due to being the God of mischief he is not shown in the spotlight and lives in his brothers shadow. We see his transformation throughout the movie as he wishes to begin the one true heir and take Thor place as future king which in order to secure his position he shows he is willing to kill his brother. Thor however found this hard to see as he does not seem that intimidating this only adds to him fitting the trickster archetype as does not seem to be the type to do that. This can fit easily modernly as many people can feel as if they are in the shadow of somebody especially if they are siblings. This can lead them to develop cold feelings towards them which they may not show or admit to until
Over the next two weeks, we planned how to tell the others about Loki and me. It was going well but Thor was not so sure, what would happen. He’s just as anxious as I was about telling knew that they would be mad with him keeping this secret. They had to understand why he didn't tell them.
Thor is one of the most famous of the gods in Norse mythology, well known due to his popularity. Thor is described as having a quick and hot temper, and a love for food. The enemies of the gods, the giants, were on the receiving end of
Banished to Earth he fights for a worthwhile cause: protecting humanity. He has great strength, endurance, and resistance to injury. He is also extremely long-lived (though not immune to aging) and immune to conventional disease. His skin and bones are denser than a regular human. Being a skilled warrior, highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, and hammer throwing are some of the skills he possess (“Thor”).
All cultures have heroes and heroines who are present in a variety of myths and legends. But what exactly does it take to be a hero? A hero is a person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his or her brave deeds and noble qualities. Thor and Hercules are both perfect examples of heroes. Both heroes are from completely different cultures. Thor is from Norse mythology and Hercules is from Greek mythology. Despite their different cultures, they share many similarities. Although Hercules is from Greek mythology and Thor is from Norse mythology, the two heroes have many legends about their lives that make them heroic, reveal their culture, and exhibit similar archetypal elements.
Pyrmja is Thor's Raikou. Pokémon are very rare on Asgard, therefore Thor never had a Pokémon until his later years when he became a full-fledged warrior and bested Pyrmja in combat, thus gaining her respect and companionship.
During Thor’s coronation in Branagh’s film, Odin is ordaining Thor as the king of Asgard. Odin entrusts him to an object that is highly significant to being a ruler. “Mjolnir, forged in the heart of a dying star. Its power has no equal! It’s a weapon to destroy or as a tool to build. It is a fit companion for a king.” After Odin banishes Thor into the mortal world, he sends Mjolnir after Thor and says an enchantment. “Whosover holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor!” This marks the starting point of the test that Thor has to go through to prove his worth in the movie. Many people try to pull the hammer out of the ground but they find it hard to pull it out of the ground. This resembles that only one person can possess the power of Thor. The agency S.H.I.E.L.D under the charge of agent Phil Coulson sets a camp around the hammer which creates a sense of eeriness that the hammer has a great amount of power that no one on earth has seen
One of the most significant attributes of Loki is his connection to Ragnarök, or the end of the world according the Norse mythology. He triggers Ragnarök by “arranging the death of Baldur,” (Lindow, par. 6). He does this by tricking the blind god Hod into throwing a mistletoe spear at Baldur, killing him (McCoy, par. 9). He then turns against the gods and takes the side of the giant. Some of the major incidents that take place during the battle include: Jormungand, the giant serpent, slaying Thor; Fenrir, the wolf, killing Odin; and Loki and Heimdall mortally wounding each other (McCoy, par. 3 and 8). As punishment, the gods “tie him down to three rocks inside a cave” while “a venomous serpent sits above him, dripping poison onto him” (McCoy, par. 9).
Thor is a savior figure because he saves humanity from God's themselves specifically his brother Loki, who betrayed his family while he was banished by their father Odin. In this film Thor is your typical hero who is powerful and strong. In the beginning Thor thought he
Hero’s come in many different perspectives. Some might view a hero as the fictional super heroes. Other’s consider hero’s to be modern day people. Some qualities of a hero are someone who is courageous, brave, and kind. A hero is a person who is admired for their courageous acts and achievements. They never give up even when times get hard. It’s more about the hero taking a stand for what they believe is right. Taking a stand counts more than winning.
Thor did not recognize his unbelievable superpowers right away, in fact, he did not realize that he was even Thor until later on in his life. He was first a psychiatric nurse called Thorlief Golmen. One day he suffered a nervous breakdown before his 30th birthday. During the 18 months he spent institutionalized, he claims to have realized who he was and why he has been sent to Earth. This is when he realized he was Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, to save the planet. After getting in many fights he figured out his most useful power was his magnificent strength. He is so remarkably strong that his strength level is officially rated at Class 100 in the
Chris Hemsworth had been seen in the basic character of Thor with an enchanted hammer and this exhibits him as the son of (Anthony Hopkins). Thor was considered to be the heir of eternal Asgard. On the other hand, this film had exhibited Thor’s impulsive wish to look for fights even though Odin was not happy with this act. He banished his son to earth (Midgard) and Thor is now powerless without his hammer. This film had demonstrated the fact that Thor is exposed by scientist Jane Foster and associates. Jane Foster is being played by Natalie Portman, while Thor’s rudeness had shadowed and he discovers himself to protect Earth from the conspiracies of Loki (Tom Hiddleston). Loki had been the God of disruption who wants Odin’s authority and he is the half-brother of Thor (Schweiger, 2011).
