The purpose of my argument is to outline the importance of early intervention when children are diagnosed with autism so that individuals on the spectrum can have a chance at having a normal life. My thesis is that it is important to recognize the early signs of autism because the only proven effective treatment is early intervention services such as applied behavioral analysis. My thesis statement can be seen throughout my project and I wanted it like that, because I want to make sure that my message is very clear. The take away message is that the parent will always be the biggest advocate. I wanted to give the reader something to take away from the infographic. I wanted to make it impressionable, something that the reader did not forget. I used a combination of argument types claim be evaluation, judgment, epidemic, and policy. In terms of the Toulmin schema my argument is that the prevalence of autism has risen dramatically within the past decade. If more parents knew the early warning signs/symptoms of autism then they would be able to take the necessary precautions need to provide early intervention services such as applied behavioral analysis for their children, because there is no cure for autism. …show more content…

I chose this audience, because it the most appropriate for my argument about autism assuming that a child’s biggest advocate will be their parents. I hope this infographic teaches all parents of young children to identify the early signs and symptoms of autism and if they spot any of the signs and symptom outlined that they feel comfortable enough to seek out a pediatrician for evaluation. My argument offers comfort for a very real epidemic that we currently have no cause or cure for. I hope that my infographic offers hope that there are options and to embrace autism. The last section of my project places emphasis on this also the picture of the girl that looks like a puzzle piece was a great
