He went from being a nice, helpful, caring dog to being a mean killer when that call came. He killed lots of different animals when he listened to the call. In the novel The Call of the Wild written by Jack London there is a character named Buck who lived in California. He was sold many different times and was taught how to pull the sled by Francois and Perrault.There are many people who buy a dog named buck and when Buck is with his masters Francois and Perrault he has a problem with one of the dogs named Spitz. Bucks problem was that he wasn't the leader he needed to be the leader. He had learned many lessons in the first couple days. One of the lessons that he learned was to never got knocked down in a fight. The theme Struggle for mastery is shown a lot throughout the book The Call of the Wild like when buck gets jealous that he isn’t the leader and Spitz is. Which ends up with spitz dead.
