The Van Daan Family

Anne Frank is a Jewish girl who had to go into hiding because of the anti Jewish culture of Germany in July 1942. Anne's family and another family decide to go into hiding. They hide in the secret annex and survive for for two years. But they get caught and sent to concentration camps. Dispute the horrendous treatment Anne faced she still stayed optimistic, caring, and playful.

Anne Frank Was a teenage Jewish girl and was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. Anne Frank and her family went hiding in a secret attic in the Amsterdam office building where Mr.Frank had worked. They were joined by the Van Daans and Mr. Dussel.

During WWII, two families were in hiding. The Frank family and the Van Daan family were hiding together. Both families are Jews and they went into hiding because Jews were being killed by the Nazis. A family member of the Frank family named Anne Frank wrote in a diary. She wrote down information that happened in the Annex. In the next three paragraphs I will talk about courage, compassion, and sacrifice.

Anne Frank, a name? A book? A girl? A prisoner? Anne was all these things. She lived in a world ruled by the Germans. Adolf Hitler, the ruler of the Nazi Germans ordered for the whole Jew population to be destroyed. He ordered all Jews to be taken from their homes and to be sent to labor or death camps, also known as concentration camps. Once Anne’s family heard of this they went into hiding with four other Jews. After two years of hiding, not being able to go outside, talk or move a lot, or being able to use the W.C. at certain times of the day, the Franks, Vaan Dans, and Mr. Dussel were turned in by a random citizen and were arrested. Before that time Anne had a diary where she wrote her deepest most inner thoughts. She once said, “Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart.” I disagree with Anne’s statement, “Despite everything, I believe people are really good at heart.”

Anne Frank was born to Otto and Edith Frank in the late 1920’s, alongside her older sister, Margot Frank, who was born three years before Anne. This small family of four were just ordinary working class people trying to make a living like everyone else. Both Anne and Margot lover school and their friends. They both also really enjoyed writing, which included diary entries every day. Both girls, particularly Anne, wrote down every event and feeling she experienced. Which lead to the famous diary we now know to be of Anne Frank’s life during the Holocaust. Anne Frank was a German Jew. She was born in Germany. At the age of two or three the family moved to Holland. In Holland as hitler was gaining power laws were made. Those laws took away rights of Jewish and other people on the "undesirables" list. Those people were not seen as people anymore. When people were being called upon. The Frank's went into hiding earlier then planned. The people that worked with Otto Frank helped the two familties go into hiding. At first there was just seven people in hiding. Then another man came to hide with them the families were in hiding for almost three years. Otto Frank thought of everything and what would happen in other situaltions. From how they got food anf the way the company was run. Otto was in World War I and a very good soldier at that.

Anne Frank was a thirteen year old, Jewish girl who hid in the Secret Annex during the war. She wrote in her journal that she called Kitty, she wrote all her secrets and feelings in that journal. She lived with her family in the Secret Annex and she lived there with her close friends also.

Anne Frank is the child of Edith Hollander Frank and Otto Frank. When Frank was about four, Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany and he and his Nazi government began to go unbelievable measures to prosecute the German Jewish citizens. Frank’s father moved to Amsterdam to establish a small company (Biograph Staff). The company was successful in producing substances to make jam. Frank and her sister stayed behind in Germany with their grandmother, but later moved to Amsterdam with her family

Anneliese Marie Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany, June 12, 1929 (History.com). Anne Frank lived a quiet normal life attending school and having fun with all the other kids. The Franks were driven into hiding on July 14th, 1942 when Anne Frank’s sister Margot got a call to report to a work camp (Thoughtco.com). The family quickly packed and went into hiding. Otto Frank, Anne Franks father, owned a warehouse into which the family quickly departed. In just a day they had moved into a hidden room in the warehouse called the secret annex hidden by a movable bookshelf (See Figure 1).

Anne Frank, short for Anneliese Marie Frank, was born in 1929, and died around 1945. Her father, Otto Frank, was born in 1889 and died in 1980, and was a prosperous businessman. On January 30, 1933, Hitler had taken over Germany. Anne and her family were Jewish, and they were forced to move to a new place for a new life. Anne Frank was a victim of the holocaust, and she would later use her experience before, during, and after WWII to illustrate through her writing, the thought of a teenager during a time war.

Storoies has been born during the Holocaust, Anne Frank's was one of them. She was a Jewish young teenage girl who lived in Amsterdam, Holland. When the Nazis occupyed Holland, she went into hinding with her family in 1942 when her sister, Margot was called up to a concentration camp. A few other Jews has joined them later on. After more than a year of hiding, they were discovered in 1944 and were seperated during transitions to camps. Anne and Margot stayed together but died in 1945 of typhus, only a few weeks before their camp was liberated. In fact, the whole Frank family didn't survive except for Otto Frank, Anne's father. Otto Frank returned to Amsterdam and later found out that Anne had kept a diary the whole time they were in hiding. Anne Frank, a girl who survived partially of World War Two, was born in Frankfurt, Germany June 12, 1929. After the Nazis took power in 1933, the Franks moved to Amsterdam. Unfortunately, things took an outrageous turn for the worst. Since being Jews, the Frank family would have to go to a horrible place, known as concentration camps. Later on, a law was passed and all Jews had to register themselves in. That registry was for the Nazis to find out were the Jews lived. The following spring, the Nazis yet had passed another law. The law stated that all Jewish people had to put a yellow star on their clothing that said “Jood” on it. Soon after, Jewish families were being called up to go to transit camps. From the transit camps they would go to Concentration camps. To overcome that, the Frank Family went into hiding. The German invasion of the Nazis started on May 10, 1940. A year later in 1941, the Franks had started making tactics and preparations to go into hiding, before the Nazis would eventually reach them. With the help of Otto Frank, Anne’s dad and his colleagues at the Opteka Company, Otto was able to prepare a hiding place for his family. Finally, the day had come. July, 1942, they had moved into the hiding place, called the Secret Annex. The Franks,Van Pels, and other occupants of the hiding place hid in a secret attic apartment on 263 Prinsengracht Street. Before the Franks, and Van Pels got there, colleagues by the names of Johannes Kleiman, Victor Kugler , Jan Gies, and Miep Gies, had helped set up the hiding place by smuggling food, and gathering clothing.

Living in a small annex, there is one window and limited space. You eat beans and rotten potatoes everyday. The running water cannot be used between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and you must be silent. Others have to bring you your necessities so that you can live. Everyday holds the fear of being captured. This is how the Franks and Van Daans lived everyday for two years. They were deprived of many things.They could only do certain things during work hours and they had to rely on others. Would you be able to live like this?
