They have previously been characterized as barbarians, meaning they were uncivilized, crude, and primitive people. However, although their leader, Genghis Khan, was a very ruthless and violent man, this does not equate the Mongols to being barbaric. Mongols were not barbaric because they had a civilized society that was primarily formed by their leader. Genghis Khan was not only able to create a …show more content…
They were able to build saddles with the technology that allowed them to sleep while riding horses, so they were able to continue moving throughout the night. And they brought more than one horse per soldier so that traveling was continuous without having to take breaks as each horse would need to rest. In addition, the Mongols were able to make use of a horse 's’ resources using them to make clothes and armor. Even going as far as learning how to slit their necks for blood to drink during their travels without harming the horse enough to make it stop. There is no question that the leaders of the Mongols including Genghis Khan led their men to use a horse’s resources and helped to develop everyone’s skills when riding them. Mongols continued their creativity by using gunpowder in weapons. Gunpowder, something originally made by the Chinese, was never used as weaponry before, instead, they were used for more entertaining purposes such as fireworks. Because the Mongols used the gunpowder in an innovative and new way, they were extremely difficult to beat in battle. The Mongols further displayed their creativity when Genghis Khan used rhyming to help illiterate and uneducated soldiers recall rules that they had to follow. One of these rules was to account for and give honor to all soldiers who had fought against an enemy dead or alive. When in battle and the country they faced was defeated, fighters looted every piece of property

Some would say they were barbaric due to their actions; others would say they were doing what they needed to do to survive. However, a group does not kill innocent people to survive. History should remember the Mongols as barbaric because they were nomadic and did not have many skills, they expected a great deal from neighboring communities, and they killed innocent people.
The mongols in the 13 hundred concerned much of the world on horseback. The mongols are also very barbaric in such a way many other tribes had dreamed to do what the mongols did. The mongols are smart in battle tactics but they don't have much. Although some might beg to differ that the Mongols were barbaric. The mongols were like regular people whom lived back then and killing and war was just a usual thing of this time period. Killing people does not define you as barbaric. Nowadays many people kill and go to war, taking the lives of thousands of people and they are not barbaric. During the 13th Century a small Asian tribe known as the Mongols conquered much of the known world linking Western and Easter Eurasia. The Mongols were a nomadic people until they acknowledged the supreme leader Genghis Khan in 1206. Most historians formulate an arguement based on the question “The Mongols: How Barbaric Were the “Barbarians”?” The Mongols were not very barbaric because they had a highly sophisticated military, lived by a code of conduct, and helped improve the lives of those they conquered.
Barbarians have been misunderstood for many centuries. Through the course of history, barbarians have been described as: uncivilized human beings in a savage and primitive state of mind. Some aspects of Mongol life can be interpreted as barbaric, but for the majority of their life there is a logical reason for everything they do. For example, between 1206 and 1227 Genghis Khan was able to do what none of histories best conquers were able to do. He expanded his empire 12 million square miles (Genghis Khan). Throughout this expansion he left millions dead, but this was not as cruel and uncommon for his day and age. Also, in doing this he prevented many rebellions. The Mongols gained a ruthless reputation that engrave fear in the hearts of their enemies. The Mongols were an advanced civilization lead by many genius leaders. The Mongols do not deserve the title of barbarians because of their military strategy, complex governing system, and how they expanded trade.
The barbarians where very barbaric. They where very cruel to people and they didnt care. One example is they would burn peoples fat who they had killed then catapult it over to scare enimies, and sometimes they would even catapult their heads. Another example is tey would take people who they didnt like and they would barry them alive. When people would try to escape, lets say 3 people try to make a run for it then even the people who where loyal and didnt try to escape got killed, so no matter who tried to leave everyone would die. And lastly Genghis Khan conquered 4,140,000 more miles then Napoleon. In conclusion the mongols/barbarians where very barbaric and
The Mongols were a group of pastoral nomads who lived in the steppe area of China, now modern-day Mongolia, from as early as 600 CE, and still live there today. They lived in scattered encampments and relied on animals for their survival. Their leader, Temujin, also known as Ghengis Khan or Chinggis Khan, formed a small but well organized military following that spread from the region and began a violent conquest of Eurasia that lasted from 1207 until 1266. Their conquests were bloody, ending with between 30 and 50 million deaths. The Mongols chose to cruelly destroy anyone who stood in their way. These battle strategies earned them a reputation of fear, some surrendering before the mongols arrived. The Mongols, only numbering about 700,000
Throughout human history, man has strived for power. It is an unquenchable desire which has led many great rulers to success and defeat. When thinking of powers which dominated the world, the Roman Empire, Napoleon’s Army or even the time at which Great Britain was considered the center of the world, come to mind. These rulers/nations were all great and all, at one time, had vast amounts of power at the expenditure of their use. However, all of these empires fall short in comparison to the Mongols quest to conquer the World. Though their reign was short, the Mongolian empire was one of the largest empires to spread across Southern Asia. Led by the furious Genghis Khan, the Mongols swept across Asia and conquered countless nations. One of the most profound innovations of the Mongols was their effectiveness in battle. Their well-developed strategies and innovative ideas pushed the Mongol campaign very deep into Asia. As a result, many cultures were lost to the Mongols during their military campaigns. Their rule was upheld by vital principles in war tactics and in politics. Further analysis of the Mongols’ power will be discussed by following these questions,

There is no doubt that Mongols lived as killers, but they also had extreme intellectual advances that were a major contribution to society. Mongols were very knowledgeable and they had done some things that have never been done before and never been done since. They used their own original ideas which were not used anywhere else in the world.
