Self reflexive films such as the Truman Show, which deal with the omnipotence of the media in their satire, dissecting the format of reality television by playing with unreflective notions of cinematic reality and role of music in their construction.
The film shows how extra-diegetic music in the same way to the public works such as the non-actor Truman for the target group of the show. Truman's reality is something completely easy for this target group, the same God creator of the show, Christof (Ed Harris), can control even the weather in seaside. In fact, is the atmospheric music, we get to hear in the film, to mixed, not hear them Truman himself, as well as the true nature of his fake reality becomes apparent to him.
Truman is in the last scene, when he discovered that there's an exit door in heaven-painted Studio metaphorically for all beings who are trapped in a matrix, an ideology, a system without knowing that their reality has been made entirely by a fraudulent (or benevolent) spirit.
What so are the effects of this change in perspective with regard to the perspective with which we look at a movie, or our everyday world -? …show more content…

This change in perspective would draw attention to the medium itself in the sense of Brechtian alienation effect on his invisible, interpretive and so manipulative power. It may trigger a certain level of cognitive dissonance in the audience, that wonder within which medium it actually even acts, without realizing it, what role was intended for him as an audience. Say goodbye to the idea of cinema as a realistic medium is, as I said, not the purpose of this exercise, but rather promoting a novel perception of reality as a construction which shows many hairline
