The criminal justice system is separated into three branches: law enforcement, courts and corrections, each branch has a different responsibility. Law enforcement is responsible for the police force that investigates the crimes or the possibility some wrong doing has occurred, and making arrests. This sections task is to also make sure the peace is kept, maintaining social order all still while enforcing criminal laws. The courts are responsible for settling issues between parties and to administer justice. Lastly, the corrections system includes jails, prisons, probation, and parole.
