The Teachings and Beliefs of Christians About Death and What Might Happen Afterwards
There are many varied views on the afterlife that Christians hold. Depending on denomination there are many different teachings. The fundamental teaching is that when we die God judges us and depending on that judgement many believe we will either go to heaven or hell. The timing and the manner in which this is done is what varies. Most Christian denominations teach that there is a heaven and a hell. "Heaven", it has been suggested means "the roof of the world". This would be backed up by beliefs in ancient Hebrew times that God was found in high places.

Protestants believe that when we die we are instantly judged. If we were a good Christian then we will go to heaven straight away. If we are a bad or a non-Christian then we will go to hell. Roman Catholics believe that we go straight to heaven if we are not sinful or if we haven't committed a sin since our last confession before we die. They believe that by confessing our sins before we die (having our last rites read) this will cleanse us.
The main difference between Protestant and Catholic beliefs in the afterlife is that Roman Catholics believe in purgatory. The main theme running through Christianity though is that if you lead a good life you go to heaven and if you lead a bad life you will go to hell.
Christians believe in Heaven for many reasons. Some Christians believe that because God is just and fair he rewards the virtuous. They believe that because virtuous people don't get rewarded in this life, they will do so in the afterlife. Others also believe that through the initial sin committed by Adam and Eve in paradise they separated us from God. They believe that through the death of Jesus Christ we can be united with him again in heaven.
Most Denominations believe in Hell. Some believe Hell exists because God is a God of justice and sin has to be punished. As it isn't fully punished on earth God has to punish those in the

According to Christian worldview, one gain eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ (John 14:6). He who believes in Him will not perish, but receive an everlasting life. The sin that we owe cannot be paid by us because we are imperfect. We can do all the good deeds, good moral, pray everyday, go to church every Sunday, none of those will pay our sins that was created in the past. God loves us so much that He sent his only son to live among us that was crucified, died, and was buried for the salvation of our sins. Jesus Christ is our savior. Before the evangelization, the Indigenous believed that the Dreaming would always and always exist. In Christianity, they also believe in a belief relating to cosmology. The Christians believed our world would eventually come to an end and change into a world with no evil or death. Some also believe that Jesus would guide the people into this new world, called the 'Kingdom of God'. When Jesus didn't return to our world, those who died would arrive at a place called Heaven, where they lived after their death on Earth, and can see God for themselves. Those who sin are sent to Hell. Those who sin but are not too big of a sinner to be sent to Hell are placed in Purgatory, where they are cleansed. Some are sent to Limbo if they have not made a decision on whether or not to believe in Christ.

The Bible tells us that we are responsible for those sins. The Bible also says that our sins separate us from God. The book of Ezekiel stated that “The soul who sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20). The book of Isaiah says, “Your iniquities have separated you from your God” (Isaiah 59:2). God has stated in the Bible that His plan includes judgement for everyone’s
Christianity believes in the rewards of heaven for all who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior, and son of the Most High God. Jesus shares with His disciples that He was going away to prepare a place for them, but would return one day to take them back (Jn 14:2-3). He makes a distinct separation that those who believe it Him would have a dwelling place in heaven. Contrarily, those who denounce Him would be judged and punished to hell.

Catholics do not view it as punishment, but as evidence of God’s love. God is the most loving individual there will ever be. God has a plan for us. And to be apart of his plan we have to be purified, clean and perfect. God is working to perfect us; therefore he can establish a new perfect Heaven and Earth.
In this world, people have different beliefs and religions. In many of those religions, people need to follow rules, for example, an amendment to supposedly have a better afterlife. But if we commit sins for example suicide is can go bad for us. We have any idea of what happen to us after. What awaits us in the afterlife?
