At the first glance, Islam and Christianity appear to have nothing in common, however; as you go beyond the surface, they appear to have many similarities such as their beliefs of God, their beliefs of life after death, their holy scriptures, and their prayers. These religions, although are two entirely different beliefs, share a similar origin. Like many other religions, they both claim to be the one and only true way to God. In order to truly see and understand their similarities, one must date back to the rise and birth of Christianity and Islam. Throughout the course of this essay, I will compare the many facets that show the alikeness between these two growing religions.

At the time of death, one’s spirit will separate from their body and either ascend to heaven or be bound to Hell according to their deeds performed on Earth. That’s because it is believed that humans have the ability (free will) to choose between good and evil. Muslims and Christians believe that angels exist as well as Satan and his evil spirits who follow him: the enemies of humanity. Also, it is said by Muslims, that on the day Jesus returns, the Last Day, the dead will be resurrected and both the dead and alive will be judged. They will either be rewarded by going to heaven, or punished by going to hell. Likewise, Christians believe that on the last day, referred to as judgment day, God will bring forth his judgement upon all those: dead or alive. He will reward or punish them by sending them to either heaven or Hell.
There is also much similarity between the two holy books of Islam and Christianity. Muslims follow the teachings in the Qur’an, while Christians follow the words of the Holy Bible. First off, there are many similarities between the Qur’an’s and Bible’s version of many stories, such as: Adam and Eve, Moses and the children of Israel, etc. Also, the Ten Commandments, from the Bible, all have their corresponding parts in the Qur’an. For example: Exodus 20:12 from the Bible states: “Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gave you.” The corresponding part
As of today, Christianity and Islam are the world’s two largest and rapidly growing religions. They share an estimated 3.6 billion followers, more than half of the world’s population. Initially the two religions may seem to have nothing in common, but when you go beyond the surface and examine the rituals, beliefs, and founders, as well as the spread of both religions, they share many similarities. In many ways, there is irony in tension between Christianity and Islam, given the extremely similar history and nature of their religions. It is perhaps lost on many people who subscribe to these religions that there is no more truth to one than the other. But when observed from an objective viewpoint it is undeniable that both Christianity and Islam are remarkably similar in origin and ideology. In order to see and understand their similarities, it is important to look back to the birth and rise of both religions.
Despite the fact that there are many similarities and differences between Islam and Christianity, both religions are significant in today's society, which is apparent in the grand number of followers each has amassed. Islam and Christianity are in themselves, complete religions with many followers. Islam was born of Christianity in that a large part of Islam's basic belief structure is based on that of Christianity and some portions of the Bible. Because of this fact, there are a number of similarities and a comparative number of differences between the two religions.
Starting off with the basics, we both believe in only one single God. While we have Jesus, Muslims have Muhammad. In the Qur’an there was coming called the “Ten Commandments” but they sometimes went by the “Ten Instructions” they can be found in “Surat Al An’aam” and in “Surat Al Israa”. These ten instructions basically state that you should be good to your parents, do not kill your children if you are poor, kill no one, and other instructions to live by. In a similar fashion, the Christianity religion has the Ten Commandments, which were given to Moses by God himself. The Ten Commandments state that Christians shall have no other Gods but God, shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it, shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy, respect your father and mother, must not commit murder, must not commit adultery, must not steal, must not give false evidence against your neighbor, and finally must not be envious of your neighbor’s

Many religions have impacted the thoughts and beliefs of millions around the world. Two of these religions are Islam and Christianity, both of which are similar, yet, incredibly different. Christianity, which had come long before Islam, is known to be the root of Islam which makes sense since the two religions share much in common. They are both Abrahamic and monotheistic religions which means they share the belief in only one true existing God and are rooted to have many similarities. Their differences, however, are what make them two distinctive religions, which is why they are recognized and classified for being so. Similarities and differences arise in many topics and situations, but differences take over and divide them into

Azad Rauf, a practicing Imam interviewed through telephone believes that Islam too contributes to this opinion. Resurrection will not be confined to the distinguished only but would be for all humanity – good or bad. On that day however there will be separation when the righteous will be sifted from the wicked. The Bible emphasizes on this separation – some will be imperishable, others glorified, made powerful while selected ones will get a spiritual body –as stated in Corinthians 15. The wicked too will be resurrected. This faith is shared by Islam. The basic tenet is that man is immortal – this life is but a short span of existence as such. Some Christian schools say that the wicked will undergo eternal suffering. But objections have been raised about eternal punishment for small sins. How can the just God mandate such a ruling? Muslims say that few will undergo this eternal suffering but ultimately move towards heaven or God. Some Christians are of the view that the wicked ones will experience a second death – it means following resurrection these bad characters will die once
Christianity and Islam are two of the five major world religions. After reading “The Teaching of Islam” and “The Origin and Spread of Christianity,” it is obvious that Christianity and Islam are more different than they are similar. Opposing opinions feel that they are more similar because they are both Abrahamic religions. Christianity and Islam are more different than similar.

Religion is the practice of worship of belief of one or more Gods. Religion is an important way of life for a lot of people because of the strong impact it has on them.
