The 'Secret Intelligence Service ' was derived by the 'Secret Service Bureau ' which was founded in 1909. The bureau was a joint initiative by the Admiralty (authority responsible for the command of the Royal Navy in the UK until 1964) and the War Office (department of the British Government responsible of the Army between the 1700 's - 1964). MI6 was initially founded to oversee activities being conducted by the Imperial German Government at the time.
MI6 didn 't play a very big role throughout 'World War 1 ' because it could not establish a solid network over German soil and due to this, most of the information was being supplied by the military.
After the 'Great War ' many of the country 's resources had been depleted, however MI6 created a close relationship with the diplomatic service (a service that provided authorized personnel a diplomatic immunity so that they were allowed safe passage to other countries). This helped with building networks in foreign countries.
With this, the Secret Intelligence Service began focusing on 'Communism ', in particular, 'Russian Bolshevism '. A plan was made to overthrow the Bolshevik Government, and everything was in check for who would lead after that, however all of a sudden, many Russian politicians were being murdered and MI6 took the blame, so the operation ended up as a Failure.

Before the military had Internet hacking, spy planes, and drones that were all used for spy missions to collect information about the enemies’ plans, they had to use different tactics to get the information they needed. But, long before any of these kinds of technology were available to them, they had to find other ways to get the job done. Some of the earliest spy missions done for the United States, was done during the American Revolution by George Washington’s secret six. “The six members of the Culper Spy Ring had served Washington under one condition: their names and activities were never to be revealed.” This was done to ensure that after the war was over and if the British had won, that they would be safe and unharmed since no one would know who they were, or what they did during the war. This information about spies during the American Revolution isn’t known by many Americans and hasn’t been known by anyone in general until now.
The spies were created in 1914 during world war one to fight the undercover wars.
The SIS uprooted undercover Nazis throughout Central and South America as well as located covert radio stations and either destroyed them or fed Germany misinformation. The SIS was disbanded after WWII but its assignments continued when the Central Intelligence Agency was created in 1947 (6 The Federal Bureau of Investigation). During the Cold War, the FBI located and convicted several Russian spies. Through an increase in authority and numerous reforms that increased efficiency, the FBI became one of the leading organizations ensuring the protection of national

The Secret Agents show loyalty to the Queen, protecting her in every way possible, therefore demonstrating loyalty to all of England as well. One of the first was a man by the name of Walsingham. Walsingham was one of the very first Secret Agents, devoting his time and life to protecting the Queen, and establishing the Secret Agent organization. Without Walsingham the Secret Agency would not be as successful, “It was Walsingham who built up a wonderful system of government spies and agents, to ferret out all the plots that were going and scotch the most before they got too dangerous” (Trease 155-6). Walsingham established the Secret Agency, which only got improved with a mission statement of protecting the Queen, thus keeping England under control. This prevents the theft of secret information and detects the presence of spies in the United States. Some think the history of espionage goes back to prehistoric times. Established in 1887, branded as the Central Special Branch up to 1903 and then as the Department of Intelligence until 1920, the IB’s primary function back then was to provide political and religious intelligence across British India (Mahadevan, 2012, p. 28). The British assigned its British-Indian military intelligence agencies with external intelligence but interestingly, post India’s independence in 1947, the IB was entrusted with this duty therefore making it the country’s foreign and national intelligence agency between 1947 and 1968 (Melson, 2006).
