The Scientific Prediction of Overpopulation in China In today’s society, there are many environmental issues , such as pollution, global warming, and overpopulation. These issues have taken a damage on our environment and its resources. Overpopulation is a serious issue that will eventually have a greater negative impact on many countries, and this must be identified, analyzed, and controlled immediately. This issue caused a large crowd of people and the limited resources around the world. Generally, an issue like this is ignored in the past because of lack of knowledge of the subject and the fact that most people are not affected directly by the issue that is leading to other issues. Scientists have remarked on what resource utilization to deliver that food is done in China. Also, there is a hypothetical point of confinement to the measure of food that can be created. The world might just achieve the highest population before it starts to level off, so here are some of the scientific predictions about the overpopulation. The population of China is developing exponentially and it is a difficult issue due to its effect on the earth. The water insufficiency is developing and as it is displayed, the desires of the Chinese individuals surpass the limit of the land (Hong, et al., 2010). Since the population of China is expanding quickly, the urbanization of land and the agrarian advancement increment at the same rhythm. As it is exhibited, human movement and human
The global population is expected to reach 9 billion people by the year 2050 and scientific projections indicate that world is on a trajectory towards an environmental and global food crisis. World Leaders, environmental enthusiasts and aid agencies have cause for alarm as they support urgent policies for change, for without them mankind will face unprecedented food insecurity. In 2015 estimates were that there were “some 795 million people” [World Food Programme, 2015], experiencing food insecurity and 3.1 million children under 5 died through malnutrition, while Australians continue to waste an estimated 361 Kg’s of food per person per yr [PMSEIC, 2010, p.44] All the while the earth groans under the weight of Greenhouse Gas Emissions [GHG], deforestation, soil degradation and
Over population is an issue that plagues people all over the world. American’s specifically are headed towards a population of over 400 people by 2050. High population numbers like these can lead to an abundance of environmental issues. One of these issues specifically is air pollution. Air pollution is primarily the cause of industrialization and releasing toxic fumes into the atmosphere. This causes the ozone levels to rise to unhealthy conditions. If countries like the U.S don’t become active in preventing these environmental issues, overpopulation would just continue to increase them. This would affect American citizens because environmental issues, like air pollution, caused by over population will have a negative effect on the quality of life and the ability to breathe clean air.
It is no surprise that Global Trends 2030 labels the “growing food, water, and energy nexus” as a “megatrend” that will greatly impact the coming decades, saying that “demand for food, water, and energy will grow by approximately 35, 40, and 50 percent respectively” by 2030. The primary reasons are an increase in the overall population and a rising middle class. Food, water, and energy are critical resources around the world that are all being consumed at unprecedented rates. Which is why it is important to understand that food, water, and energy are finite resources, therefore we need to utilize them more efficiently and effectively. Resource management is a key issue facing the world currently and it looks as if it will be a continuing
Taking into consideration China’s robust economic growth over the last 20–25 years, there is little reservation that China’s has had positive impacts on the economy. Because of the increase of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), China has saved over 400 million people from definite poverty between the years 1979 to 2005 (The State Environmental Protection Administration, 2007). Despite this economic growth in urbanization and industrialization, there have arisen major concerns about the impact this economic growth and the over population has place on the environment. Over population in China have place large demands on sustainability such as water and air pollution, land degradation, and natural resources. In this
By the year 2050, nearly 80% of the earth’s population will reside in urban areas. The human population will increase by about 3 billion people by the year 2050. This means that world human population can reach the 10.6 billion people in less than 40 years which is an increase of almost 40% (Demeny and McNicoll, 2006). An estimated 109 hectares of new land, the area of the size of Brazil would be adequate for the purpose, will be needed to grow enough food to feed them, if traditional farming practices continue as they are practiced today (Monfreda et al, 2008). A growing population is not the only problem humanity has to face. Even today, approximately a billion people are chronically malnourished (Eigenbrod and Gruda, 2015), and, in addition,
Overpopulation is a condition that is undesirable. Overpopulation is one of the problems that people concern it to. One of the serious countries facing this problem is China. Reports in China show that it has about 1.38 billion people in this country (Worldometers, n.d.); it has about one over seven population of world’s population. China is the fourth largest land after Russia, Canada and the United States in the world (Central Intelligence Agency, n.d.). Although China’s land is not as big as Russia or Canada, but their number of people make up more than three countries. Overpopulation in China is one of the serious problems that the world is facing because it brings unemployment, exhaustion of natural resources and also environmental pollution.
In the past 100 years, the population of the world has gone from about 2 million people to just over 7 million people. With this drastic change in population in such a short period of time compared to the total age of the earth, problems are no doubtable going to arise. From the demand of the ever rising human population on the earth, food accessibility, depletion of natural resources, and an increase in global warming affects all have detrimental consequences on our human population and our own earth that may not be reservable. As humans need space to live, and as cities expand, farm land is being taken over by subdivisions. Thus, where is the food coming from to feed all these people with less farmland? With the first world lifestyle a dream for the majority of the population in the world, it is a wistful lifestyle that is very depended on the natural resources our earth has to offer such as fresh water, natural gas, and petrol. Once these resources are gone, they are gone. And as humans abuse the land that we live on, negative effect such as smog, rising oceans, and stronger super storms have a negative impact on humans and on the ecosystem of the earth swell. With these attributes that come with an increase in population, without a sustainable solution, the health and safety of the human population as a whole, as well as the earth, all suffers dramatically. Data from worldometers.info shows a 2.3 times from crease of births this year compared to deaths. With all these
In Ireland in the 1720’s, poverty and overpopulation were at a problematic rate. Many of the people who lived in England were exiled to Ireland. Many of these Englishmen felt mistreated and wronged. Ireland was a colony to England. The people of England had more money and power than the people of Ireland because England controlled Ireland.
Over the past 50 years the human population has grown exponentially, and as the world’s population continues to increase. A Lot of research has been done by climatologists around the world directly linking the effects of population growth to increased CO2 emissions. I will provide data behind the negative externalities linked with these increased CO2 emissions and how they are linked to overpopulation.
With rapid population growth and urbanization escalating, overcrowding has concerned many scientists, researchers, and the human populace as a whole. Overpopulation, the condition where an area holds more people than in which the area can properly function, is a serious issue which has many adverse effects on the well-being of a healthy human population. A growing seven billion people live on Earth and factors such as pollution, and human well being may all be affected by overpopulation, and continued growth in population will cause an even greater impact on society, individuals, and the environment. The effects of overpopulation is a multi-layered combination of different factors, all of them affecting each other in a variety of ways, yet they all work together to lead to the collapse of society. The continuation of these trends due to rising overpopulation will lead to the ultimate collapse of society attributed to the degradation of social structure, environmental structure, and human behavioral alterations and the culmination of the resulting effects. Continued population growth needs to be ended in the near future as it will affect every human being on the surface of the planet to a massive scale that can not be reversed.
World population has been increased significantly, while Earth resources are limited and food sources are in danger. In this regard scholars predicted that world’s population would be reached around 10 billion by 2050 and certainly food requirement would be increased more than 70% (Dyson, 2016).These statistical data imply that food sources are increased arithmetically, while population are enhanced geometrically, whereas there should be a balance between population and food supply (Brownell, 2008).To overcome food shortage, some attempts have been done around half century ago which led to green revolution. This paper, aims to have a look on this phenomenon, introduce it and assess pros and cons of it.

It was recorded in the year 2011 that the worlds population reached approximately 7 Billion. However, when studying the current birth rate, experts have predicted that by the year 2050 the worlds population will reach more than 9 billion. Leaving agriculturalist and scientist concern on how to help feed the over 9 billion that would soon populate the earth. This leaves many factors to blame for the contribution to population growth. The first factor would have to be the life expectancy rate of humans nowadays. Medical advantages and technology have made it possible for humans to live a longer life. The next factor, and most important is agriculture. In order to thrive in future generations, we must find a way to provide food to consumers without harming their health or the environment. That is why within the next 34 years we must produce twice as much food that we currently receiving in order to provide for our populations growth.
Imagine an entire world that is all either desert or farming field. Picture immense cities interspersed throughout the farmland. Now, see billions upon billions of malnourished humans walking from place to place due to a fuel shortage, and children working in the sweatshops of ‘developing countries’, except they’re everywhere because eventually all the countries became third world due to one major issue: overpopulation. This is an issue that will only grow if left unchecked, creating a version of the horrible world I just laid before you. The best way to prevent such a torturous future is to acknowledge the problems going on due to overpopulation, to find the root of those problems, and to take immediate action to solve the issues as soon and as humanely as possible.
