1. What kind of book is this? List three evidences of this. There are a lot of genres for this kind of book. Drama, because there is a lot of disagreement that causes all the fighting. Mystery, there is a lot of unknown, a lot of questions not answered. Horror, spirituality, there is a fight against the Devil followers and the God followers, there is a lot of sin, witches doing terrible things, it is a gory story with all the sacrifices, there is also a lot of death in this story. 2. How did the main character feel during the book? Give evidences of this. Abigail represents the repressed desires, sexual and material, that all of the Puritans possess. Compare and contrast this book with the last book you read. The last book that I read was, If I Stay. There is death in both the books, there is love, and lies. The Witch Trials book is a documentary about the horror of Salem, it is sad and exciting. If I Stay is a love story, a sad story, and a heart pounding story. 4. What did you think was the most interesting part of the book? Why? The girls meets with Tituba in the woods, and once Parris discovers them, Abigail attempts to conceal her behavior because it will reveal her affair with Proctor if she confesses to casting a spell on Elizabeth Proctor. Abigail lies to conceal her affair, and to prevent charges of witchcraft. In order to avoid severe punishment for casting spells and adultery, not to mention attempted murder when she plots Elizabeth's death. Abigail shifts the focus away from herself by accusing others of witchcraft. 8. "What was your initial reaction to the book? Did it hook you immediately, or take some time to get into?" Why? It did hook me immediately there was so much suspense, confusion, fighting, but at first the book was just giving off so much information and not getting into the juicy parts so it was hard to read the beginning and not skipping over to the good stuff. I did see the movie right after finishing the book, which the book encouraged me to watch the movie, and I also caught it on the internet while doing research. 9. "What was your favorite quote/passage?" Why? "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" These words were used from the Bible (Exodus 22:18).
