Should Everyone Get a Trophy? Most teams have the “Trophies for all” rule, But the question is “Should everyone get a trophy for doing what’s required”? Some experts say giving out trophies to everyone sends out the wrong message even though it encourages kids to keep playing. Although some people feel that trophies lose their meaning if everyone gets one, But other people believe that tropies encourage players to keep playing.

In reality, everyone will not be a winner. In “Participation Trophies Send a Dangerous Message” by Betty Berden, she conveys how children do not need a trophy for participating. In the passage “In Youth Sports, Participation Trophies Send a Powerful Message” the author, Parker Abate, comments on reasons why children need participation trophies. Children should not be able to receive participation trophies because it is not beneficial in the future. Berden wrote “They do not mean much to me because I know that identical awards sit in other children’s rooms all over town and in millions of other homes across the country.”

It puts the thought that they need praise for doing basic things in their lives. People believe that it will not negatively affect their children because it makes them feel like they are a winner, but everyone getting a trophy will make it where they do not want to work as hard to do better to get a trophy in their sports team. Giving out individual trophies to people who have put in a lot of effort to play the way they do not get as much recognition can also harm the children who are putting a lot of effort into the sport they are

Participation trophies send a dangerous message. I have many trophies,but i worked hard for these trophies. Everyone on my team deserves my team. For the people who think giving out the same award at the end of the year to all the children; i am  sorry to inform you that your hurting the child more than not giving the child the trophy at all. Children need to know the importance of working hard than someone else. In life you do not make the same amount as your boss makes just because you show up on time everyday. Why would the kids who just show up to practice everyday vs the kids the more elite kids get the same reward. Life does not work like that.

Should all youth athletes receive participation trophies? According to the "Trophies for All " policy, youth athletes are being awarded with participation trophies. Some people believe that in life, you have to work hard for what you want. Participation trophies boost youth athletes self-confidence. In addition, participation trophies are used to motivate kids to have fun playing sports. Also, participation trophies put a smile on children's faces. Every child should receive a participation trophy, for just showing up.

One reason kids should not get trophies is because some kids. Some times dont play on the field. “If kids keep getting trophies then the trophies can lose their meaning.” Only the kids that actually work for trophies should receive them. “Trophies are not an effective way to motivate players.” this explains that kids need a place on the field. This shows that kids should have a place on the field and not get trophies for nothing.

By giving trophies to the best players on the team, the students with perfect attendance, etc., the world is not properly teaching children how to prepare for the real world. Berden states, “Trophies for all convey an inaccurate and potentially dangerous life message to children: We are all winners.” This quote is significant because it shows the defying inclusion of all children which portrays a view of the world that will never be accurate as the children get older. The distribution of trophies to the children also contradicts the real star players of the team who are visioned to succeed further on in life.

I agree with the fact of all kids should be given trophies. I say this because if all kids are given 1 trophy that is exactly the same with everybody on the team, this way they wouldn’t feel hurt if they weren’t given a trophy. Kids that worked hard could more rewarded individually, thus showing kids that if they want a special reward they have to work hard for it so they can be successful. I think this will help kids prepare for the future and will spare any unnecessary tears.

Trophies for Everyone Should kids get trophies for participation? No, children should not get trophies for participating in a sport just because they were there. When children participate in sports they should get trophies for improvement and excelling at what they do to encourage them to keep working at it, when you give trophies to everyone it defeats the purpose if a child wanting to try. Children should not grow up with the thought that everyone is equal and that no one is better than them because if you don't work hard then other people who do work hard will excel past you. Although it does show children that if you set your mind to something you can accomplish it even if it is little league soccer.

It is also a good thing to give trophy to kids because you can out a smile on their face and make them feel special. There are many reasons to support those that people and coaches should not just give trophies to kids
