As you ride the PACE bus for the first time to get to Oakton Community College, you start to think that the bus driver has probably lost his mind and entered a random forest preserve, but as you keep wondering, you see from far away, a building that seems to get closer and closer. That is when it hits you and realize you are the one going crazy and you are thirty seconds away from arriving at your destination.
The road towards the school is beautiful during the summer. As you enter, you see green everywhere; an awesome feeling of nature approaches your heart as the fresh air rushes inside your nose and you begin to liberate your lungs. The street takes you on a small happy ride with three sharp curves to give you a small tour of the beautiful collection of trees that this school’s delightful “front yard” holds to finally deliver you inside this secluded paradise of education. The clean asphalt road in the middle of the forest gives you security that you are safe and you are not entering some sort of “hunting zone.” It is amazing to know you are in a relaxing fresh forest to aid you in your focused studies, and as if it wasn’t enough, a gorgeous lake positions itself next to the college with a sleek trail around the lake where students walk to get from building to building; as they walk, fishes inside the lake swim with glory enjoying the divine nature around this college.
The main entrance is as beautiful as the road that delivers you there. Stone tiles work as a red carpet
The first thing on the agenda of my visit was my official tour of the school. As I walked around the main campus I began to picture myself as part of the pack. With each new building I saw, the more I fell in love with the school. Everything from the glowing red-bricked education buildings to the exquisite student building, Talley Student Union. After I had walked the magnificent campus, it was time for my meeting with the head coach, Bryan Bunn. I had never met Coach Bunn or even talked to him, only email. When I stepped into his office with my mom every one of my senses was heightened. I could hear my heart beating out of my chest. I could hear every pipe that had water running through
The driver returned the smile as he turned his attention back onto the road James stood in silence, as his fears and worries crept back into him as the silence grew. The bus intercom broke the silence with a ring. “The next stop is Vandergrift Boulevard”, it announced with its automated voice. James reached forward pressing the red “Stop” button on the railing as he took a deep breath,
It was a short drive to the hotel, and the scenery was pretty cool, but I was really waiting for arrival time. I couldn't wait to see the hotel, and I had no clue what to expect. I eyes drifted out the window at all the tall trees on the hilly landscape. The trees filled the hill, and there was on sight of the forest floor. Birds of all sizes flew in and out of the forest, keeping a person looking at them and their home forever. But then the landscape began to change.
The front door opens to the blinding sun and the sweet smell of freshly cut grass surrounds me as I'm dragged out the door by the black shadow, my dog Louie a black maltipoo, with a grin on his face. Taunted by multicolored birds flying through the bright blue sky swoop down a strike of black fur can be seen chasing after them with me stumbling behind barely holding on to the leash. On the bright green grass fields outlined by either palm trees soaring into the sky or a few various styles of houses. With a magnificent view of the valley with airplanes flying overhead as well as the view of bowl like mountains. On the journey across these grassy fields you can spot a pond filled with a wide variety of fish, turtles as well as ducks. In fact during the spring time if your luck when you go down and seat on the bench overlooking the pond you may see cute little ducklings swimming around their mother. Although you could also see the shark known in the neighborhood which is 3 feet long carp which swimming around at dusk. With the occasional sound of a golf ball whizzing
This bridge, fully enclosed in glass, leads the way into Creeden Hall, while also providing a view of the campus surrounding it. Creeden, the main high school building, feels like a busy street each school day. The immensely wide hallways are like highways for students zipping from class to class. Aluminum-lined whiteboards are mounted next to each door, all uniquely designed for the class that takes place in that room. The locker section in the morning like a busy city corner. While walking down the eternal-seeming spiral staircase, I see in the center of the room a pendulum slowly rocking back and fourth over a compass. Its brassy finish starting to wear off after all the years, and yet it still seems like new. The motion of the pendulum is constant, almost as if to symbolize the constant enriching of the students' minds, and the never ending sense of community and tradition which exists at the Severn School. At the end of the day, as I walk outside, I'm met by the gentle autumn breeze, bringing a sense of freedom and joy, after a hard working day at school. Located off of Evergreen Road, in Olde Severna Park, Maryland, there is a noticeable excitement, and passion for learning, in the
“One, Two, THREE!” Lennie and I sprint toward the bus. I don’t think I have ever seen Lennie run so fast. Just as I think we have made it to safety, a gunshot goes off. Right in front of the old bus, I fall to my knees as my vision becomes blurry. Even through all of the noise and commotion, all I can hear is my ears ringing. Most people would be scared or angry that they are dying, but I was happy because Lennie was safe. Surprisingly, the bus driver took Lennie and drove off. The bus before had just seemed like a bus, but now it was like a chariot, because it carried the only thing important to me in it. As the sight of the bus became vague, my eyes slowly shut and my smile slowly
Paul’s father made the choice of moving him and his family to Tangerine Florida, because he got a new job offer and wanted to take it. Paul was excited for his fresh start at a new school with a new name other than “Mars.” Moving to a new school was great for Paul at first, but then everything went downhill from the time he walked through the doors of Lake Windsor Middle School. Paul was told that his classes were outside in portable classrooms, while the sixth graders would be inside with regular classrooms to be in. At the end of the day, everything got worse. Paul faces another complication at Lake Windsor Middle School.
Suddenly, I recognized the building. Just last week, I had visited the exact same campus. My eyes explored the hall in front of me for the second time. It’s Early College High School, I realized. This

You can’t see inside, but… Oh god. The implications of what this means hit you all at once, and you can’t breathe. You can’t move. You’re frozen in fear. You wonder if you should alert the bus driver. On the one hand, you don’t want to let this creep escape with his… captive. But you realize that to get to the driver, you would have to pass him, and you don’t know or want to think of what he would do to you on your way.

The warm breeze blows past me as I open the door to the Sweetwater Middle School. Shouts and hoots of excitement about the New Year came from behind me as I speak amid my social circle. It was going to be a wonderful year with delightful students and teachers. By the end of the year I knew to have been mistaken to think it would work out for me.
My knees shivered as I walked up the huge steps onto the bus. Millions of things were running through my mind; I was nervous. There was a loud chatter throughout the bus, but it wasn’t normal chatter. Everyone was on a light edge as we were all more than aware about what we were about to face. The bus pulled up into a familiar area. Elsternwick was busy and the sun was bright. I personally am always in Elsternwick and I never knew the museum was
The heat radiates off the rusted core gated iron roof, a dust devil swirls over the path that leads towards the school. I have always loved the country, the warm air, abundance of animals, variety of plants and even the dust that covers everything. As I head up the path I reflect on my life at the school, my life would be almost empty without this school, this is where I went to school and now work as the only teacher. It hasn’t changed a bit since I went to school, still a old wooden shack with a tired old veranda that raps around the whole building. A somewhat derelict building but what choice do I have - it is the only school within 200Kms of Gadgenup. Gadgenup has been home for me since I was three, I moved here with my Mother, Father and older Brother Luke, when my Father couldn’t find work, it is and always will be my home.
“Hurry or you will miss the bus, Again!” My mom caringly yelled. I nodded even thought she couldn 't see me and ran out the door. Running on a small burst of energy only got me past two houses. I stopped for breath before running again. Feeling the soles of my feet hit the pavement although I 'm wearing shoes. My brain goes into imagination mode and the Earth shifts. The ground that I step on melts away under my feet causing me to run faster. A zombie rolls out from the bush as I run even faster. My messenger bag hitting my side. I reached my bus stop and the world goes back normal. “Thank you. . . For what ever that was, Imagination, I 'm very lucky to still have you,” I thought silently as I boarded the bus. I take my seat as the driver takes off. Starring out my window and plugging in my headphones, I ignore my surroundings. It only feels like a few seconds, but we pull up into hell — I mean, School. High school to be exact. We get off at the entrance and my two friends are there waiting on me. Nico brightens up as he nudges a figure next to him. The figure looks up and I can recognize that face
