The rainbow fish is the most beautiful fish in the ocean. Because of his beauty he is rude and cocky to other fish. He was so focused on being the most beautiful he grows conceded. He is mean to fish. He acts like he is better that everyone. In the Rainbow Fish, Marcus Pfister, shows personal growth using the main character.
The rainbowfish is very conceded and selfish. He doesn’t like to share. He thinks he is better that everyone else. He said to the little fish "who do you think you are!"(paragraph 4)
When he asked for a scale. His tone was rude and showed that he did not care for the little fish's feelings. He told the little fish to get away from him (paragraph 4). What he said showed the little fish and all the fish was that he thought he was better than

He has a terrible personality, but we all can change.
The rainbow fish is confused. He does not understand why nobody likes him. And he thinks the only thing to life is beauty. When he said no to the little fish he told everyone and now they do not want to be friends with a mean fish. The rainbow fish does not understand this. He doesn’t think he can be happy without his scales. He asked the starfish "I'm so beautiful. Why doesn’t anybody like me?”(paragraph 6) . He did not understand why so he was asking the starfish why everyone disliked him. Also after the wise octopus told him what to do the rainbowfish said quietly to himself "Give away my scales? My beautiful shining scales? Never.
How could I ever be happy without them?"(paragraph 8). He is also confused here because he does not think he can be happy without his beauty. The rainbow fish is weary of the octopus's instructions but he wants to be happy.
The rainbowfish figures out that happiness is not about beauty. Its about being with people, or fish who make your life great. The rainbow fish gave one of his scales to the little fish, he felt something he hadn't felt before. The author told us that "When the water around him
The short story “What, of this goldfish, Would You Wish?’ is a emotive short story
The fish is a major symbolism within the boy’s life. The fish is mainly an illustration of a lost friendship or love. “Once the boy had seen a huge fish jump up high in the pond’s center, though his father told him the pond held no fish,” (Crabtree 72). The fish is a representation of the young boy’s friendship. The young boy thinks that he has a friend or love, but his father tells him that there is no such thing as a true friend. Stating that the friendship has ended or that the friend has gone away, either due to moving or death. Crabtree then writes, “But the boy had seen one, and was watchful,” (Crabtree 72). The young boy waits for that friendship to come. He waits for that one person that can help him through the ups and downs of life. He has encountered that feeling of love and honesty but now is just waiting for that person to come
The poem “Fish Cheeks” is about a girl named Amy. Amy is a Chinese girl who wants to be like her friends, who are American. Amy needs to learn to be the person that Amy is. Amy also is embarrassed because of who Amy is and because Amy’s family isn’t like a “normal” American family. Replicating and embarrassment are two things that are seen in this text.
The fish’s perspective is just to get to the waterfall, but he is trapped and defeated. Joy keeps going and eventually helps the fish get up the
Individual vs. self is the most important conflict in “Poor fish.” The narrator believes he is low in society and has no self-confidence whatsoever. The story is told in first person, so the reader knows the narrators thoughts and feelings. Throughout the novel the narrator struggles with how he believes people to perceive him as. He is utterly confused and astonished by the fact Ida, his girlfriends has such adoration for him.
At this time in his life, Fish began to run away from the orphanage as well as wetting the bed that he slept in. With bed wetting being normal, no one looked for any signs of him to go
David Foster Wallace wants the reader to realize that the most important and the most obvious realities are often the ones that are the hardest to see and talk about. Seeing what’s right in front of you can be the most difficult thing because you are always looking further and not opening your eyes to see the most obvious parts of life. Wallace is additionally trying to get the reader to tap into the real meaning of life as well as trying to move people away from their “default setting”. The opening of this speech starts out with the story of wise fish and the two young fish. After being asked about the water by the older fish, the two younger fish realize that they don’t know what water is. Fish don’t know water exists until beached;
(Pfister 10). Commodification is prevalent as Rainbow Fish selfishly only focuses on himself. He does not want the scales for their usefulness, he only wants them when other fish are there to admire them. Rainbow Fish only wants the scales if they give him a higher social status. If no one is there to compliment him, then the scales mean nothing to him.
The last simile Bishop offers compares the fish to an athlete or someone who has accumulated ribbons and metals. In the fish’s lower lip, there are lines and hooks, “Like medals with their ribbons / frayed and wavering, / a five- haired beard of wisdom” (61-63) Like the ancient wallpaper, this simile also describes the fish has withstood over time. The five lines and hooks represent how many times the fish has been caught. Each time the
Synopsis: It is a picture book about a Fish, named Rainbow Fish, who thinks he is too beautiful to hang out with all the other fish. As a result, Rainbow Fish ends up lonely. At the end, Rainbow Fish learns that it is better to have friends than to be prideful.
Next, the speaker talks about the fish’s eyes, larger, shallower, and yellower than hers. The different pieces of fishing line caught in his jaw shows how many times he either escaped or was let go by the other fishers. Then the description of the rented boat, the parts of the boat that all turned into a rainbow.
The theme of “what do fish have to do with anything?” is that unhappiness can sometimes cause someone to be blind and ignorant towards others needs. For instance, Willie’s mom does not want him looking or talking to the homeless man on the streets. She tells her son this because she is unhappy so she does not see what the man is going through and instead says “He is sick do not look at him.” Another example is that Willie’s mother does not like answering Willie’s questions concerning others needs. She does not answer willie’s questions because she could honestly care less about a problem that is not hers. She could care less about other peoples problems because of her unhappiness. To illustrate, at the end of the story the mother has the
The fact that the trout swims upstream is significant in itself. This type of fish travels while fighting against current. This scene offers symbolism. The trout represents Nick, and the water symbolizes society.
Fish magic was created in a pane using oil and watercolors. It combines the components from the sea, such as fish, the earth, which are flowers and the galaxy, that is the moon and the planets. The painting appears as though Klee was conveying a complex story using the elements of the sea, sky on canvas and the earth. He expresses his romantic, expressionist and surreal mood through the painting . Any person examining Klee’s work for the first time will definitely think it was a work of a nursery watercolor worm. After looking carefully at the elements, one can see how the elements in the painting fuse together to illustrate a message after seeing hoe Klee was managed to make an artistic impression using simple elements.
He talks about how he had to kinda convince her to go on a date with him. There are also may reasons for the narrator to choose the fish. The first reason he should pick the fish is that it’s the biggest fish. One reason is that, the tug on the rode was really strong. In the book it says that his rode bent out of shape and the line tightly coiled and then came a tearing sound of the line.
