The Republican Presidential front-runner Donald Trump continues to rise in the polls even after a widely held opinion that he lost the debate to a much more eloquent and prepared Carly Fiorina. Fiorina in response to her strong performance has seen a modest jump in the polls; however, Trump supports continue to see high numbers in the polls. His bombastic personality and candidacy have received cheers from liberals and confusion by establishment conservatives who normally would treat candidates like Trump as only the popular dish of the day. Establishment conservatives are praying that voters eventually see the Trump dish is undercooked, and that it would ultimately leave them at the mercy of the porcelain throne the next four years. Donald Trump has finally released his tax plan. Hallelujah. His plan is filled with what many conservatives and liberals have been eagerly calling for. In part of his plan, he pushes for a flat income tax for all businesses at 15% and a repatriation rate at 10% claiming this will incentive companies to increase their presence in the US. He still relies on a graduated tax rate of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 25%, which is far more attractive to voters then the current rate of 10%, 15%, 25%, 28%, 33%, 35%, and 39.6%. This greatly appeals to lower income individuals because the widely held belief is that everyone is taxed and this belief will be to Trump’s advantage. His attacks on Wall Street and their profits and high salaries appeals to many Americans due to lackluster job growth and wage …show more content…
Lower taxes and more jobs will always win over a tired US citizen losing hope in the American Dream; however, will these promises ever come to fruition. I bet not. Trump’s popularity is tied to him acting as a voice of angry Republicans unhappy at Congress’s inability to effect meaningful change in Washington. Trump has been more than willing to assume this role and has at times viciously attacked elected Republicans. Trump is known to be a tough negotiator and an excellent businessman, but Elephants have long memories and these attacks will most likely remain in the minds of Congressional Republicans, except probably Ted Cruz. If the Republicans are able to keep control of Congress and are willing to work with Trump, Trump would need to use the Obama playbook to pass legislation. At least, Republican voters could finally pass legislation they have been seeking for the past eight years. However, based on the current climate, as seen in the anti-establishment movement influencing the polls, disillusioned conservative voters may not act as strongly in the next election to keep control of Congress. If this happens, the plans of the uncompromising Trump will most likely fall on deaf
Donald Trump is not doing good as president. Some may still believe he is doing good for our country, but the facts will change their opinion. This argument can be proved based on the facts that are in the news everyday. The news shows articles about him firing multiple people in the white house, his insensitive attitude to important things happening in our country, and him degrading women. People are not happy with Donald Trump’s presidency, and the hatred for Trump continues to grow by his actions.
I'm sorry I have to keep saying this, but he lives in an alternative reality. And it is sort of amusing to hear somebody who hasn't paid federal income taxes in maybe 20 years talking about what heʼs going to do, but Iʼll tell you what heʼs going to do. His plan will give the wealthy and corporations the biggest tax cuts they have ever had. More than the Bush tax cuts by at least a factor of two. Donald always takes care of Donald and people like Donald. And this would be a massive gift. And indeed the way that he talks about his tax cuts would end up raising taxes on middle class families. Millions of middle class families. Now, here's what I want to do. I have said nobody who makes less than $250,000 a year and that's the vast majority of Americans, as you know will have their taxes raised. Because I think we have got to go where the money is and the money is with people who have taken advantage of every single break in the tax code. And yes, when I was a senator, I did vote to close corporate loopholes. I voted to close, I think, one of the loopholes he took advantage of when he claimed a billion dollar loss that enabled him to avoid paying taxes. I want to have a tax on people who are making a million dollars, it's called the Buffett rule. Yes, Warren Buffett is the one whoʼs gone out and said somebody like him should not be paying a lower tax rate than his secretary. I wanna have a surcharge on incomes above 5
America, along with its commitments, needs to “stand behind [its] word, and make sure [that the] word stands up” (Trump 138). This means that we need to take back control and never step back. Compromises should be kept to a minimum, and strong leaders need to take control in Washington (Trump 139). These leaders can be attracted by creating an exciting atmosphere for them to work in, as opposed to a failing government which only a bare minimum of Americans have the heart to try to fix (Trump 140). America needs to increase its power, successfully, military-wise (Trump 137) and financially. This will allow the country to start winning all the time by continually starting at the top of every race, and will force other countries to see it as a serious and strong national
Establishment Republicans are not sniggering at Donald Trump’s antics anymore, especially as he threatens to go solo in November if party insiders scheme to deny him the nomination. Echoes of similarly irate conservative Teddy Roosevelt and his “Bull Moose” party sinking the Republican (GOP) national campaign in 1912 get louder every time Trump wins a primary state. After the real estate mogul announced his candidacy in June last year, party leaders contentedly sat back in the peanut gallery ridiculing his naked attempts at demagoguery. Later, they dismissed Trump’s surging poll numbers as an electoral blip sparked by fringe sections of the party base that loathed the GOP’s handling of Congress.
According to Emily Stewart, Trump’s immigration reform is the most straightforward way of dealing one of the most back and forth controversies of the United States in the 21st century. Firstly he wants to make Mexico build a wall on the border between them and the US in an attempt to keep illegal immigrants out of the US, and furthermore then he want to deport all of the suspected 11 million illegal immigrants from Mexico. His deportation plan alone would cost an estimated $600 billion dollars and take 10-15 years to complete disregarding the still incoming illegal immigrants coming from Latin America. Trump also wants to make a America more of a self reliant nation as he wants an entire tax code reform, an increase in foreign exports tariffs to the US to 35%, a breaking of NAFTA, and to bring major companies back to the US. Yet for all of these absurd points Trump brings up he never once explains how or when he is going to or try to accomplish these goals (Stewart). In the wise words of Benjamin Franklin, “...if you fail to plan [Trump], then you plan to
To the point where we take him at his word understanding that Trump is a negotiator whose positions are often purposefully deceptive, what he advocates is a rejection of our Madisonian inheritance and an embrace of Barack Obama’s authoritarianism. But conservatives have far more to learn from his campaign than many might like to admit. The Trump voter is moderate, disaffected, with patriotic instincts. He feels disconnected from the GOP and other broken public institutions, left behind by a national political elite that no longer believes he matters. Trump doesn’t go nearly as far as Nixon. Yet in an era

While there are some key flaws to Donald Trump's tax plan, it must be noted that he is trying to use this new tax plan as a way to benefit the majority of America. An argument was brought up about how this would significantly benefit the rich, which it will, but why is this a bad thing? First off, allowing the wealthy to take their off shore money and put it back into the American economy for only 4% may seem bad, however, Trump's plan is giving them an opportunity that they would have never taken otherwise. To add, the United States had kept really high corporate taxes compared to that of other countries. As a consequence, companies decided to move jobs out of America (out-scouring) because running a business in America has become too expensive.

There are differing opinions from all, but most feel that immigration is a key issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Trump has been increasingly brash with his position on immigration reform. Going as far as to call children born to illegal aliens “anchor babies”. His immigration policy also calls for three core principles: a nation without borders is not a nation, a nation without laws is not a nation, and a nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. (MLA) Along with these core principles Trump believes that Mexico should pay for the wall that he will build between the two countries, stating that “the annual cost of free tax credits alone paid to illegal immigrants quadrupled to $4.2 billion in 2011.” He also wants to triple the number of ICE officers and have better cooperation between local, state, and federal law enforcement. There are other policies he wishes to implement such as: defunding sanctuary cities, deporting all criminal immigrants, and increasing penalties for persons who overstay their visa. Last but not least, Trump wishes to ignore the 14th Amendment and end birthright citizenship for children who are born to illegal aliens. He has affectively ruined any support that he may have had from the latino
During his campaign, Trump adamantly vowed to reduce the amount middle class citizens have to pay in taxes. In order to do so, Trump claimed that tax cuts would be possible is by, “Reducing or eliminating most deductions and loopholes available to the very rich” (taken directly from the “Trump Tax Reform” pdf available on Trump’s website). However, with his current tax reform plans, it seems to be just the opposite—loopholes
“President Donald Trump has set in motion his plan to build an "impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful, southern border wall" between the US and Mexico.
Trump’s most recent proposal on tax is to cut taxes and give breaks to small businesses and large corporations. His idea allows businesses not to pay income taxes, but the owners are taxed at individual rates on their profits.
Donald Trump was elected president of the United States of America on November 8th, 2016, and now has been running our country for over a year. Using public media web pages, we are reviewing both sides of the argument regarding Trump’s election and we are going to decipher why each arguer supports their side, and why each side is reasonable for the benefit of our country.
The Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump is an individual who embodies the American dream through the manifestations of his character. Trump is unfailingly honest and loathes dishonesty, especially dishonesty concerning his reputation. Similarly, he will enthusiastically defend and champion for what he believes to be true. At his rallies, he behaves with a presidential comportment; but at the same time, he conveys the idea that he is no more exceptional than the average American—a belief that is equally validated in his actions and attitude.
