In the article by Hansen it looks at how it is not right for the U.S. to try to keep all of these people out and that they could help fill the jobs that no one wants but there are groups out there that will try to keep them out. The article looks at how there is a more humane option for the government to look at that would allow guest workers to remain in the country temporarily. This could eventually allow them a way to get citizenship if they want to stay in the country. This view provides at little recognition for those people who believe that it could mess up America’s culture. This is a more humane route and it is morally right. It also represents an effort for a good solution to the externalities of the open borders that people believe in, as opposed to the people who believes in a closed border type of plan.

Immigrants are people who go through governmental paperwork to travel to a different country and live there as a new citizen. There are numerous things that immigrants have provided for everyone in various environments. Immigrants have benefitted North America very much since the year 2000. Immigrants have benefited North America by helping people on a personal level, contributing to the economy, and creating diversity and influencing people in Canada and the United States of America. Because of the establishment of the foreign born people there is a variety of culturally distinct restaurants around, people with unique physical traits at every corner of the earth. There are many ways people have profited or made their wish come true because of others who came to settle in a different place to become one with the country.

Immigrants are hard workers; however, the Americans are viewing the immigrants as lazy and as a burden to The United States when in actuality, research shows that, some immigrants come to The United States legally although they may not have papers to work legally when they first arrive. For many immigrants the process to get legal documentation to work is a long, tedious, and expensive process. Even though this issue is very common, many immigrants are positive and productive contributors in society. Immigration is a very broad topic, a topic that has been highly discussed in the past. However, what is the reason that most people think people migrate from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, or Guatemala? Most would say it is because of job opportunities that will better their families. Some say it is because of the higher rate of freedom in the United States. However, not many people look at the hard environments back in the homelands of the immigrants. Maybe a big reason for crossing the border is to escape the hostile situation that is at hand. The roots of this hostile environment are the gangs and cartels. Of course, there are problems of violence all around the world, but they are nothing compared to the impact these Central American groups bring to the table. This paper will discuss my thoughts on why this is an important topic, what is going on across the border and how it is effecting more than just the migrants, and finally my opinion of the situation at hand.
