I decided to stick with what I am familiar with, that is, the restaurant industry. I picked a very popular spot for both tourists and locals in our town. The peppermill restaurant and fireside lounge is the spot I picked. There are three main reasons I picked the peppermill for my research topic. The first one is that it is one of Las Vegas’ hidden gems, the second one is my love for the restaurant industry and how they have such a unique concept and the third reason is the history behind this place. The peppermill has a side that is more of your typical restaurant and on the other side it has fire pits.
The peppermill is just a little bit down the street and on the opposite side of the street from Circus Circus. Which is on the northern

Daniel D. said on yelp, “When in Vegas....EAT AMAZING BREAKFAST is what I say. Peppermill is a genuine staple; it gives you that 80s feel along with the mafia/ movie casino feel. The pink and baby blue lighting illuminates the restaurant, embodied by floral tree decor. Let's get to the point shall we, QUALITY is the underlining tone in all of this. Fresh ingredients are used, along with high quality food that you can taste. If you are trying to hard to find a good place to eat for a great price, look no further. There are plenty of places you'll over pay on the strip and can't even match the quality of their burgers and breakfast. This will always be a staple for me when I'm in town for one of my meals.” The Peppermill is rated with an average of 4 stars with 1945 reviews and over 2000 …show more content…
While browsing pictures online I found the most appetizing pictures of crab eggs benedict, waffles and steak and eggs. The portions are ginormous and the quality to price comparison is almost unheard of. In addition to this I learned more about their price ranges, which could be anywhere between $11-$30. It also said that they are now proudly serving vegetarian options. I think that this is a fantastic idea, not only will you please the vegetarians, but it also shows how you can still move forward with new hip thing while maintain your old school mentality. In my opinion, Hash house a go go, copied their designs and philosophies when they created it. The peppermill is one of the oldest and best kept secrets I’ve ever heard

I feel as though great food at a reasonable price along with timely service constitutes value. Price is always a factor to a customer, but they must also realize that quality food and service has a price. We currently have over 260 locations in 44 states and plan to open many new locations throughout 2007. Our
How to proceed: For Assignment 2, the first step is “to get out there”: you must physically reach the BIA selected in Assignment 1 and dine in one of its restaurants. In your report you must indicate: a) name of the venue; b) exact location; c) day and time of your visit; d) whether it is a franchise or independent restaurant; e) its external appearance; f) its internal appearance; g) the approximate number of staff at the time of your visit; h) the approximate number of costumers at the time of you visit; i) the menu and the average price of starters, entrees, and drinks; j) the treatment you received. Once you have all the information, you are expected to draw some conclusions on the venue with respect to the clientele it caters to and whether or not, in your opinion, it is a good fit for the BIA where it is located. You might take pictures if useful to substantiate your argument (I do not want website pictures, only pictures taken by you).
The local community lodging industry with its two or three property types makes for an interesting discussion. (1) What types of properties are present in your community, and how have they evolved? (2) How does each meet guest needs? (3) What kind of technology do they apply to serve guest needs? Begin by answering question (1) and (2).
I love buffets! I mean really, who doesn’t? I chose this topic for the assignment so I could convince my parents that I needed to eat at both buffets to fully research which restaurant is superior. It worked. I thoroughly enjoyed comparing and contrasting both buffets by enjoying two delicious all you can eat feasts on separate occasions. This was the most scrumptious assignment ever!
Question 2. TCO 6. Discuss the phenomena of celebrity-theme restaurants. Why do some fail and some succeed?
Approximately 52% of the 1993 population in the area was 60 years of age or over. This was considered the restaurant’s main target market. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, the number of people taking up permanent residence in the valley increased dramatically for various reasons. The climate was attractive for growing population of seniors. Land prices, housing, taxes, and utilities were affordable. With the average cost of an acre of industrial land in the Penticton area at $45000 in 1991, businesses were attracted to the area. Between 1984 and

One of the topics we have gone over this quarter, is tourism and recreation and the effects they have on a community. When I think of tourism I often think of places like New York City or the monuments in South Dakota.
As I stepped out to the Las Vegas Strip for the first time, the first thing I came across was the massive water show at the Bellagio. With the calm music playing in the background finely tuned with every drop of water I fell in love. Along with the gigantic crowd of people that surrounded me I could feel the warmth of every light bulb that lit up the city that never sleeps. Comparing Las Vegas to my hometown Madrid, I find many differences that only I may be able to depict. Some of the differences include the food, the culture and the demographic of the people in the community. Out of the many differences I chose to compare three things that I found were the most interesting. Madrid and Las Vegas are very different in term of climate, economy,
McDonald's has had a global impact on the food industry. McDonald's developed a revolutionary idea known today as fast-food. This impact began in 1930 when Maurice and Richard McDonald left New Hampshire seeking to make a fortune in Hollywood, started up a drive-in restaurant in San Bernardino. Unlike so many other food-service operations at the time, McDonald's came up with new ideas that turned the usual slow paced dinner into a finely tuned engine.
When going out to eat, we don’t observe the workers of the restaurant we’re at. We become focused on our friends, our order, and even the people around the restaurant. Sure we talk with the server or smile at an employee when eye contact is made, but we never really observe how the community in the restaurants we go to are like. I want people to be informed that in order for the restaurant to be great, it all starts with its workers. These blue collar workers are the shadows when it comes to restaurant research, however they are more interesting than one would usually think. To allow people to gain more knowledge on this, I decided to do my ethnographic research on the community of restaurant workers, more specifically the community within the restaurant Sweet Tomatoes. I have been part of the community for almost three years and have been able to interact with all kinds of people that have worked there. I want people to know what goes on behind the kitchen doors and understand how the workers interact when the environment becomes stressful or relaxed, so they understand how the setting influences the employees.

What are factors influence to customer purchase behavioral? How is good management system impact to employee performance delivery high quality service?
The obvious question in comparing two restaurants is which has the better food. The menu at Hy's was pathetic. If you wanted to eat barbecue, you had to choose from only two selections: the sandwich plate and the barbecue plate. The first thing I noticed when the waitress brought out the food (besides her skin tight "Chic" jeans and the apron stolen from long John Silvers) was the extreme lack of barbecue. Both plates had plenty of potato salad, coleslaw, and curly-Q fries, but neither had enough barbecue to come close to filling me up.
