In the story the Parsley Garden by William Saroyan is about a little boy that lives in Turkey. This little boy does something that will affect him sooner than what he expected. In the story Paisley Garden, Al Condraj is a person who rather work only for what he wants or for what he need no for money. He proves his tough and his courage by going and doing what he believes was the right things to do. Al Condraj is like any regular little boy, he went to a Woolworth’s shop but he didn’t have any money to spent he was looking around and came across this hammer, and no this was not any toy little hammer it was a real hammer. Al knew that he really didn't need the hammer but his temptations were hard to control. Coming of a family that really doesn't have a lot of money he was willing to go back to the store and get the hammer back. His mother asked if he stole the hammer, he didn't have any money to buy the hammer that's why mother asked. “Al Condraj worked and overheard some of the things they said, and then Leeza went home to go to bed, and his mother said, “Where you get it, that hammer, Al?” “I got it at the store.” “How you get it? You steal it?”(Saroyan,4) This proves that mother was worried that his son was still stealing. That day her mother came from work and saw that Al Conraj sitting down in one bench that was something he wanted to build with the nails and the wood he had all he needed was the hammer. This was what Al Conraj wanted only the hammer he went back to help carry some boxes from the owner of the store he worked for the boss and he gave him th hammer he stayed working a bit more and the person who caught him still the hammer was helping him work a well . “I worked all day,” Al said. “Mr. Clemmer gave me the hammer after I’d worked for one hour, but I went right on working. The fellow who caught me yesterday and showed me what to do, and we worked together” (Saroyan,4) He did work to get paid all he wanted was
