Season one episode five of The Office, called Basketball, is a must watch because it portrays the true essence of the hit TV show. I specialize in all things The Office, but this episode in particular caught my attention when I first became aware of the show.

The Office was originally a British TV show and a TV producer thought this would be a good show to remake. The TV show ended up skyrocketing to one of the most watched TV shows. The gist of the show is a documentary that show the everyday lives of people that work at a paper company in Scranton, but they are led by a senseless boss who has no idea what he’s doing.

Some things you should know about Michael Scott are that he is arrogant, oblivious, inappropriate, sexist, racist, and he only thinks of himself. Just for background information, the warehouse guys consist of Darrell, Roy and other nameless workers. Some of the …show more content…

Might I add that the hoop was at the lowest level. As Stanley is coming down the stairs, Michael shouts, “Secret weapon!” Stanley is always unamused by whatever Michael is saying. Dwight walks in wearing a stupid face mask and shows he is ready to playing by taking his shirt off signifying that they will be skins.

Michael is such a selfish character, but that adds to his character and makes him funny. Dwight makes a shot and Michael gets mad because he was also open for the shot. Michael even refers to himself as a ‘basketball machine.’

Michael is clearly horrible at basketball, but the way he comes across makes it sound like he thinks he's the best.

One of the accountants, Angela, tells Michael that their team is ahead. A few seconds later he gets elbowed in the face by accident and calls off the game. Michael says that whoever was ahead just wins, knowing that his team was ahead. The warehouse guys are pissed and they bully him into making the office guys go in on Saturday to
