Not knowing how her mother would feel Mia crept downstairs and out the doors. When she got outside she was greeted by her brother, sister, dad, and her boyfriend. At the bowling alley, Mia and Erik were in teams against Tara and Johnny and then Jeremih switched with Tara. They played multiple rounds until it was time to go eat. Mia's team had won against Tara's team in bowling. After the game, they went to this nice five-star establishment. For an hour they eat, talked, and laughed at some good memories and new memories.

When they arrived Mama and Kirst went inside, Annemarie and Ellen went for a walk. They walked down a path where they saw a cat that was eyeing them out. When they reached the ocean Ellen told Annemarie how she and never been to the proper ocean, only the harbour because her mum was afraid of the big sea and that it was to cold. The girls sat on a rock and took their shoes of. When they felt the water they got straight back out again. They then started to talk a they saw Mama waving for them to come back. When they got back Ellen as holding the kitten that was well asleep in her hands. Mama asked if they saw anyone and asked of the girls to make sure that they stayed out of sight from anyone else. They started to make dinner for when Uncle Henrick returned. The girls were getting ready to go to sleep when Ellen asked about her necklace when Annemarie responded by saying that it was in a safe hiding spot. In the early 1900’s silent films amazed audiences with images, later talkies impressed with sound, today we have 3D. As technology continues to evolve so too will film genres. Genres, while having some shared characteristics, also differ in terms of stylistic devices used. For instance, the dramatic film “The Notebook” effectively uses color to reinforce theme and has plausible performers as the two main protagonists.

The beginning of The Notebook opens with the gentleman, Noah in a nursing home facility. We soon learn that he is living at the facility to be close to his wife, Allie who has Alzheimer’s. Allie is introduced to Noah, and he offers to read her a story. They are in the sunroom at the nursing home, and unbeknownst to her he begins to read her a love story. Due to Allie’s disease she is unaware that the story she is listening to is her own read by her true love. Noah begins to share about the summer romance that began one night in the 1940’s at a carnival. We see Allie and Noah fall madly in love only to be torn apart by her parents that do not believe he is worthy of their daughter because of his

The Notebook, written by Nicolas Sparks, can be named one of the best American romantic novels. The book portrays every trait in a guy or girl would desire to have in a significant other. According to Nicolas Sparks, “it is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, tales that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again”.

* As the boat moves along the river Leah reminisces about when Dad was dying. We find out all the details and that Leah was mad with her mum after her dad dies. As the boat trip becomes “over” there is a connection with her father’s passing. Leah says, “We’ve been through a lot eh?” They are starting to heal and become closer to one another.

The protagonist of a story is the main character who traditionally undergoes some sort of change. Pony Curtis is the teenage narrator and protagonist of the novel. When his parents were killed in a car accident, Darry, his twenty-year-old brother, began to provide for him. He resents Darry’s bullying manner, not realizing that he does so because he loves him and wants him to make something of himself. Pony belongs to an eastside gang of poor teenagers, called the Greasers; their rivals are the Socs, the rich kids living on the west side of town.

Ally is at a bridal shop when her mother shows her the paper where it had talked about her wedding being the biggest event of the year. It is then that Ally opens the paper and sees Noah standing next to the house when she faints. This is when Ally decides to leave and go back to Seabrook to see Noah and the gorgeous home he has restored, which is the seen I have chosen to analyze.

The different descriptions and dialogues of Allie and Noah are what bring the change into their relationship. In the novel, Noah is described as a quiet and shy poet. “Although he was quiet, years of heavy lifting at the lumberyard helped him excel in sports, … An occasional person found him arrogant; most simply figured he had grown up a bit faster than everyone else.” (Sparks 24) Whereas in the film, Noah is very outgoing and confident. He does not stop until he gets what he wants. This is evident when Noah climbs on the ferris wheel and hangs from the bars at the carnival where he asks Allie to go out with him. She refuses and he blackmails her by making her think that he will fall down from such a height. Allie becomes frightened and agrees to go out with him, little did she know that this was his plan all along. The change in Noah’s description changes his personality and the way the audience views him as an individual character. Allie and Noah’s tone of dialogues are also changed to make them seem more modern. In the book, Allie agrees to spend time with Noah without any objection. “…the four of them stayed at the festival until the crowds were thin and everything closed up for the night. They met the following day, and the day after that, and they soon became inseparable.” (Sparks 13) This circumstance would not exist in today’s society as females have their personal preferences. This is seen in the movie when Allie plays ‘hard to get’ and rejects Noah several times when he reminds her of the date. “‘What are you doing tonight?’ … ‘Why?’ ‘Why? Our date.’ ‘What date?’ ‘The date that you agreed to.’ ‘No!’ ‘Yes, you did. You promised, and you swore it.’ ‘Well, I guess I changed my mind.’ … ‘Come on, one date. What's it gonna hurt?’ ‘Umm..I don't think so.’” (Cassavetes) Noah is also very understanding with Allie’s decision to leave him

William joins the military and while he’s gone Margaret invites William’s mother Mrs. Anglin and brother Marshall to her parents’ house for dinner, which doesn’t go well because Mr. and Mrs. Ryder refuse to sign in an even more awkward silence. William comes back injured but not crippled and they live with her parents until he’s accepted into college. Margaret’s parents are sad to see her go but as soon as they can they go see her and it was unannounced. Margaret’s parents are very upset to see the place where she’s living and go to sign how upset they are that William hasn’t provided better for their daughter. Her parents never visit her again. The next time Margaret sees her parents is when she’s very pregnant to let them know that they’ll be grandparents. Lastly William and Margaret move into better housing where they will raise their child till William graduates from college. Margaret and William invite everyone to their baby shower after the birth of their son and her parents show up after everyone has gone. Margaret is upstairs with her son and William answers the door and her parents surprise her. When they see each other all the turmoil between them is gone and they enjoy each other’s company. The movie ends with Janice’s retirement party where Abel, Margaret, William and their son go and Janice’s signs a speech that Margaret

In the middle of the movie Noah finds out by Allie mother that Allie and her parents want her to go to school in New York. I believe this to be stage five identity vs. identity confusion which happens during the adolescence part of people lives. Allie was trying to figure out who she really was. Allie did everything her parents told her to do because she wanted to please and make them proud of her. When Noah came along I think things changed for her because she was able to be herself around him and she was able to see what she really wanted. I think that trying to be someone for her parents led her to be confused about whom she was and what she wanted. I think that Noah had a better sense of who he was because he had to grow up a lot faster by this I mean he helped his father with the bills and he felt like a responsible adult. When Allie walked into Noah life he knew that he wanted to proved and be with her and let her go and grow in college while he worked. He thought that Allie wanted to go to school closer to where he was so that they can stay together. Yet Allie parents did not want her to be with Noah so they decided for Allie to go away to school in New York and Allie followed what her parents wanted because she was unsure of what she really wanted or how to stand up for it.

Everyone faces challenges at one point, and we all have found a way to accomplish them. Even people from the1300s faced problems. Orville and Wilbur Wright experienced difficulties while creating the Flyer 1. One of the difficulties they faced was nature, they also faced time and malfunctioning airplane parts. All are very hard on together.

The love story between two different teenagers that come from completely different worlds is the most remarkable. The Notebook is about two young teenagers who fell head over heels with each other. They got separated by Allie’s upper-class parents who insist that Noah isn’t right for her. But that obstacle didn’t stop these two young lovers from being together even if it took years. This beautiful tale has a special meaning to an older gentleman who regularly reads the timeless love story to his aging wife to help her remember what they went through and that the story that he’s reading to her was their love story. When Allie reads this in the newspaper, all her feelings for Noah returned. Confused, Allie decided to go back home. Allie wanted and needed to see this house. While in the town, Noah sees Allie from a store window. Noah is in shock, wants her back. Allie shows up to the house he renovated and can’t believe her eyes. After all these years and separation, Noah made the house exactly has he had promised her. It is evident she feels the same way, but she now has a fiancé. Allie decides to spend the days with Noah and this time became as it was when they were teenagers. Noah wants forever, Allie is confused because she is to be married soon. Noah asks her to stay with him but she can’t. Noah tells Allie that he stills loves her, he never stopped. Noah asks "What do you want?" Allie repeatedly cries, “I don’t know”, but he does not take this as an answer. Noah does not want to lose her for a second time. Allie screams she has to go and tells him this is not right, she is about to be married. Allie leaves Noah and heads back to the hotel. Now Allie is confused and has to decide which love she wants. Noah stops reading the notebook and Allies memories fade after a few minutes again. Allie doesn’t know who the man that is sitting next to her and starts screaming for help. A nurse runs in the room to help her and asks Noah to please leave and to stop reading to her, this will not help.
