This show can be seen on TV every Christmas season. Then Ron Howard takes this short film and draws it out to be a two and a half-hour long movie. The worst aspect of the movie is that it makes a mockery of Seuss's main message: “Christmas doesn't come from a store.” This movie is all about selling, from those furry talking Grinch dolls to endless fast-food tie-ins.

Parents, including John and Ruth, brought their children to the store to sit on Santa’s lap and reveal their deepest wishes for their most desired toys. The Blomquist’s toddler, Marvy, awestruck and bug-eyed by his first sight of the jolly red elf, froze in his tracks, pointed at the astounding vision, and verbalized his amazement by loudly repeating the word Jesus over and over again. Even though he amused numerous townsfolk and farm families who overheard his mistaken identification of the celebrity, at least he revealed that he came from a good Christian home. This story became so popular that Universal Studios not only picket it up for a movie, but also a whole theme for their Christmas season theme park. In this story the Grinch loathes Christmas and the who’s with every fiber of his being. The Grinch presents himself as socially cut off from the who’s down in whoville. He lives on top of Mt. Crumpit with his dog Max. All of this hate is because his heart is two sizes too small (and this time he’ll keep it off). He finally had enough of the Who’s bangboozaling and clangclangaling so he devised a plan to steal Christmas. After Santa Clause came and delivered all the presents to the houses he would sneak in, in his Santa Clause suit and steal every present, every light, every decoration, every tree, and all of the food for the feast. He even stole the roast beast! He would empty the houses one by one and he didn’t leave anything. Not even a crumb big enough for a mouse. So as he got done with emptying the houses and was about to dump everything over Crumpit he heard a noise, a weird

Staring at the last acorn in his hand he began to panic and cry. Since it was also the winter season and this was his last acorn he did not know what to do so he went out into the cold and exited the forest, where his cave was found, and went back to his little home. There he saw his older friends house where he always passed by it to go exploring and he remembered that his friend never wanted to explore with him because he needed to work countless hours for his family. Stepping in the deep snow Shivers got closer and closer to finally see that his friend was having a grand feast with his beloved family. Looking sad and depressed Shivers realised that the Pixie was trying to tell him all along that he should of saved his food instead of eating tons of it everyday like he did. It was a week before Christmas and Santa was getting prepared. All of the toys were ready, wrapped, and being loaded into the sleigh, but that was all about to change. Santa was just sitting in his office when Mrs. Claus came in. ¨Here is some hot chocolate,¨ she says and quickly leaves. That was weird Santa thinks, Mrs. Claus always stays to talk, maybe she's just tired like I am suddenly feeling. Not soon after Santa falls into a deep sleep. When he wakes up he is not in the north pole anymore. The room he wakes up in is pink, red, and white. ¨These are not Christmas Colors!¨ he exclaims, ¨there are bows, arrows, and hearts all over the place!¨ Back at the North Pole there's a groundhog sitting at Santa's desk. ¨Wow!¨ says Punxsutawney Phil, ¨What did I just drink!¨
