How Does Overpopulation Affect The Environment

The term overpopulation is a undesirable condition where the number of existing human population exceeds the carrying capacity of the earth or a country. Three countries currently that are suffering from overpopulation today would be: China, india and the United States. Three major Social issues that contribute to overpopulation are Poverty, Immigration and the lack of family planning. Poverty may be the leading cause of overpopulation because these people are likely to be uneducated on topics, such as family planning. In many countries having a big family is somewhat essential because of gender roles and how a male is valued more to a family then a female. The lack of fertility treatment and education leads to overpopulation because both male and female are uneducated on the topic. Without exposure or education on how to prevent unwanted pregnancies it leads to overpopulation.

Overpopulation is one of the biggest concerns of humanity’s. Overpopulation is a drain on natural resources, living space, opportunity, and the world at large. Mother nature cannot hope to provide enough sustenance for the land. Overpopulation is about us human, we are the smartest species on this planet after all; we make all the decision on this planet. At this world we don't play by our own rules, we play with by the rule that Mother Nature has created for all the species on the planet so we are all equal.

Overpopulation has numerous effects on the environment, and there are many different views on what is causing the biggest effect on the earth.

The growing population in India is likely still increasing at a rapid speed. Unfortunately, the number of population increases three times in the last five decades, yet, there is only nearly 20% of growing cultivated land which result in pressure on land, shortage of water and habitat destruction (Nagdeve, 2007). Thus, this report will examine the impacts of overpopulation on environmental issues which are related to the decline of land, shortage of water and habitat destruction in India.
