I think that The Name Of This Book Is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch is a very interesting, well thought out book. There are so many elements in the story that make it an amazing book, like the story of it, the enthralling and peculiar characters, the villain's plans, and much more! The storyline of the story gave me many unanswered questions, like at the very beginning, where chapter one is classified and you aren’t allowed to read it because the story is very secret, or at least the author thinks so. The villains in the plot are mysterious and dangerous. For example, the main villain whose name is Ms. Mauvais has plans to find an artifact for immortality, which would cause her to have even more power than she already has, which is saying a
The book is called Secrets in the Shadows by the author Anne Schraff. Anne grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She got a bachelor's and master’s degree from California State University. Since college she has been writing many books including one of the most famous written series called the Bluford Series. Her stories are written basically on her background and how she grew up as a child. A middle class neighborhood including African Americans, Mexicans, Arab, and Filipino’s. From reading some of her books her stories are from a real person’s point of view and the struggles they really go through. Some of her lessons in many of her books are topics such as finding love, value education, respect towards others, and the importance of family.
What inspired the author to write a book about such a crazy thing? My book is called “ Hideout” by Watt Key. This book was published on January 10, 2017. It was published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux (BYR). It also has 320 riveting pages that won't let you put the book down! This is my absolute favorite book ever and is full of mystery and edge.

The dagger of deception can be more painful than physical wounds themselves. These two faced, deceitful appearances and words can cause great emotional pain and ruin. This is the case in the novel Warcross, by Marie Lu. Emika Chen, data miner extraordinaire, gets into a relationship with the CEO of Warcross, Hideo Tanaka, who breaks her heart by keeping his secret savage side from her, hiding it with the facade of his composed businessman attitude. The bounty hunter who she pledges to take down crushes her soul immediately by stealing all of her memories that she keeps near and dear to her. Emika is left unable to chase him down, but gets grief-stricken when the true identity of the person Hideo hired her to hunt down turns out out to be Hideo’s
I am writing to you about your actions in the book The Secret Keepers by Trenton Lee Stewart. You made a couple really interesting decisions and I was wondering about why you made them. Your main problem throughout the book was trying to find the other watch. Your solution was to take control of the city that it was in, New Umbra, and have your servants search for. I thought that it was a good idea, but you ended up losing your watch so it obviously wasn’t the best idea. When you heard anything about the other watch you became extremely gullible, which made it possible for Reuben and Jack to trick you. I also have a couple questions for you. Why did you devote your entire life to searching for the other watch? Was it really worth it to live
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is a story set in Germany during World War 2. This novel follows the life of Liesel Meminger, a girl who develops greatly. With Death as the all knowing narrator of the story, the reader has the ability to see various perspectives. It tells the story of oppression, portrays the power of words, and shows the human ability for kindness or cruelty. I chose to do option four, in which I have chosen important sections from the novel.
In Susan Griffin’s work titled “Our Secret”, she discusses the relationship between the present-day and the earlier life of different people. She also compares the private and public lives of other people. Her piece is set during World War Two in the 1940s. Throughout the entire piece, Griffin compares the lives of people evolved in World War Two, people who were affected by the war, and her own life. She shows how even though they lived separate lives, they are still closely related.
A particular question that is seldom pondered over and yet is capable of carrying so many doubts within it: who are we? Who are we as a society who can do the things we do? Who are we who can suffer from them? Award winning poet and essayist Susan Griffin confronts these distinct questions in her work titled, “Our Secret”. Griffin believes that a basic understanding of the things that play a part in the growth of an individual is essential to understanding who we are. The way a child is raised dictates how that child is going to become later on in life. One of the distinct highlights of Griffin’s essay was her use of describing the progress of the V1 rockets in World War II. Griffin studies the aspects of human nature by using these missile developments as a metaphor to symbolize the raising of children and the factors that can influence a growing individual. One of the prime figures that Griffin uses pertaining to these growing individuals was Heinrich Himmler, leader of the Nazi secret police. Griffin uses Himmler as an example to demonstrate how big of a role a parental figure can play in the development of a person.
Imagine yourself being alone in the world, isolated from everyone else. You have no friends or family and are discriminated against by the rest of the world. Now, imagine the things you would do to escape this isolation. If you are anything like the characters in Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief, then you would take great risks, even if they can result in your death, to get away from this solitude. In the novel, isolation plays an important role in the character’s lives as it causes a great deal of pain, creates life changing moments, and affects the character’s actions in such a way that causes them to take dangerous risks in order to escape this isolation.
I read “The Lost Button” by Iren Rozdobudko. I started reading the book with an open mind because I did not know what to expect from it. I am actually happy that I took the time to read the book, it was very interesting and once I started reading, I was not able to put it down. I don’t really read many books, but this book took me to a surprise. I enjoyed the book so much that I made my close friend read it, she too enjoyed the book and passed on the recommendation. We both agreed that we like the writing style and the plot shifts.
Words can influence the mind in many ways that thought may not be able to. They are carefully placed and shared in different ways by each and every individual. Words have powerful impacts and can majorly impact how one may think, feel, or even lead others to feel. Written by Markus Zusak, “The Book Thief” describes a story of an innocent foster girl, Liesel Meminger, who resides in Munich, Germany at one of the most troubling time periods in history, Nazi Germany. A tale narrated by the one and only Death himself, shows the perspective from his point of view, as well as others, describing how Liesel had been seized away from her birth mother at a young age, and put into a foster family. Her new family, the Hubermanns. As she matures and grows into a more critical thinker, understanding and analyzing everything that carefully happens around her. Her foster-father, Hans guides her and teaches her how to read, which little does she know sparks her journey, the art of stealing books. Liesel soon discovers that words aren 't simply lines on a page, they are strong emotions packed into a form that merely is held in her delicate hands. Not only did she hold the pages of emotion, she held a power, a dangerous weapon of words, a weapon of control, and every book that she had stolen was giving her unimaginable power that made her think in ways that she would’ve never thought she could have. As with Nazi propaganda, and a gift that enabled her to broaden her worldview. Liesel evolves
I believe what people decide to do with their spare time says a lot about who they are and what motivates them. There is many hobbies people choose to engage in, a couple I enjoy are reading and participating in relay for life. I love reading because it allows me to be taken to another place. Also Relay for Life is important to me because of all of the amazing things the American Cancer Society does for patients. There is many more reasons that I choose to spend a lot of my time doing these two activities.
There are many catholic social justices but there are only two social justices that really affected me. The first of these is the social justice of rights and responsibilities. This social justice deals with doing our duty to help and serve our fellow man. The next social justice is care for God's creations. After being assigned this justice to base the organic ion keep the ocean clean I learned the importance of keeping the earth and the creation of it safe, clean and healthy.
I picked the book called “Find Me” by Romily Bernard, because my favorite genre of books are mystery. I liked how the cover had a face in the background of it, you could tell it was a girl face because of the hair. The cover also had “Find Me” written all over it, so it made the book stand out a lot. My first impression on the book was that it was going to be a good mystery book just by the cover of it. After I looked at the cover, I read the summary inside of the book and it just grabbed my attention it was really good, well written, and it didn’t spoil the book. I also liked the quotes on the back of the book, I thought that was a cool idea. This book keeps you engaged and wanting to know more.
In recent months, Protest of the National Anthem led by NFL (National Football League) players taking a knee rather than standing with their hand over their heart has captivated headline news. The protests, were initiated by a former 49ers backup quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, in response to his dissatisfaction with police brutality and injustices against African Americans. Some might wonder why he would protest the national anthem rather than use another form of protest to convey his message. Those who don’t support the NFL players right to “Freedom of speech” such as our current President, Donald Trump are calling for the players to be fired if they continue to “disrespect” our flag and National Anthem with their peaceful protests. The opposing views raises the questions of social, political, and legal responsibility to both the nation and private businesses.
