There are many significant in your life. From being born to your first step to going to school. There are life milestones but milestones are so much more than just a moment. Milestones are what make your life up, where you take a minute and say, "Wow I actually did this.” For me, one of my biggest milestones was high school graduation. It wasn't the actual graduation itself, but the meaning underneath and what it meant for me for the rest of my life. Not only was I growing older and moving on with my entire environment changed. Graduation marked the end of a chapter in my book with some people and continues new ones with others. I will never forget Graduation day. I remember the morning with yelling and having to get ready, the evening with the actual graduation, and the night when it was all said and done.
Graduation morning was really hectic. Not only was I graduation high school but my brother had just graduated college. We woke up that morning and I had to eat breakfast fast to get ready for my graduation. My mother insisted on dressing me in my stole, pins, and all the ropes I received from high school. After that was done my brother put on his gown. We went to Brookside Garden and took so many pictures. I was super excited but the hat was killing me. There wasn't one good part about it, it was itchy and kept trying to fall off. Plus on top of that, I have super long hair down to my thighs so I was forced to wear my hair out because if I tried to put it in a bun my
My single biggest accomplishments that i have achieved, is graduating from middle school and starting a new phase in my life, this is inportant to me because i have turned from a boy to a man. I have also learned priceless lessons and values from the people around me that helped me become who i am. It helped me be defined as someone else and not just a shell of a person going through school, what i do now defines the life i have, and will forever be me. I said goodbye to me elementary and middle school teachers that inpacted my life
As a freshman in high school, I had the worst grades in Biology, English and Math. I was struggling in English and Biology because of my poor English-language skills. I was new to the United States, and that made the transition difficult. However in math I was just being lazy and I did not want to put in the effort needed to get a decent grade.
“Life After High School” by Joyce Carol Oates is a brilliant demonstration of the tragedy that follows when individuals refuse to be true to themselves. The protagonist, Sunny Burhman, must reconcile her high status and the ensuing idolization of her character with the pursuit of her hand in marriage by the antagonist, Zachary Graff, whom she does not love. As Zachary presents her with a ring, she finally realizes that she no longer can lead him on; she rejects him. He commits suicide as a result, and Sunny assumes she was the solo motive for his actions, though it is later revealed she was not. Consequently, she draws upon the reader’s pity by renouncing her cheery demeanor and devoting her life to accomplishments rather than the pursuit of
I graduated in grade 8. Graduating plays a big role in my journey. This is a new chapter where I start. I went to st.paul for 6 years. This is the last time I see most of my friends. Graduating has honestly changed me as a person and my journey it has made me find new friends and go through new experiences. This is a positive and low feeling because I get the sadness that this is my last time going to elementary school and seeing some of my friends but this a happy moment since I'm finally going into my teenager
The next positive defining moment in my education was making the cheerleading team my freshman year. I have been cheerleading my whole life and started when I was just in second grade. My town had a Pop Waner team and I did that every year through elementary school and middle school. My mom was the coach and we even made it to nationals in Disney world in eighth grade placing 7th in the nation. Cheerleading has always been a huge love of mine and has really shaped me into the person I am today. When high school came around I tryout out for the varsity team and made it. This was a huge accomplishment for a freshman and I was very proud of myself.
Everyone has an event in their life that helped changed them in some way or stood out to them in some type of way in their life. Rather if it is, something like a birth of a child, a death of a family member or even receiving a job. A significant event in my life and helped me grow as a person was when I decided to pack up and move to Houston, Texas. My move to Texas may have been short but in that short period it helped me to grow to be more independent and to provide for myself and much more. When I made the moved to Texas, I moved with family members that I knew but I was not close with it.
First graduating class has quite a nice ring to it but when I was in middle school I never imagined it would be about me. Senior year has so many different meanings to me but the one that stands out the most is remembrance. So much of my life was spent doing school work for hours on end or talking to my friends on the phone about something trivial. I didn’t ever think to look back on how I impacted those around me or if I was actually living my life instead of just going through the motions. I thought I had so much time left in high school but when the letter in the mail came for senior portraits I knew that my time was up.
Junior year of high school was by far the most strenuous year of school I have completed.Though it was an arduous, stressful time it is also one of the best school years so far. One of the greatest accomplishments of that year was passing the AP Calculus exam. That test meant more to me than just a number on a screen. It signified that I can do whatever I set my mind to. As cliché as that sounds it is very true. To see hard work pay off makes every struggle worth it.
Out of the 19 years I have been blessed to be on this earth, I can honestly say that my most rewarding moment was the day graduated Mansfield Timberview High School. Hearing my family cheer me on, getting my diploma and shaking hands with the board of administration, and beating our class statistics, is what this day a very memorable day.
I could not stand it much longer with all the assignments, and the fact that I was going through the same problem as I did back in the earlier years of schooling with my grades and GPA dropping. As the senior year began, I just could not wait to get it all done. Nearing the end of my senior year, I began slipping up academically, which made it nearly impossible to make it to graduation. As graduation day was approaching, anxiety ripped me apart because I knew I messed up academically, but I finished out with a punch. Later, I was informed that I would be walking across that stage. Graduation day arrives, all the graduating seniors, and myself are gathered within an arena, so many families screaming at the top of their lungs out of excitement. As I am watching the line go in alphabetical order up to the stage to collect their diplomas, I could not help but reminisce upon the moments that made high school what they were. As they mention my name, I make my way up to the stage to pick up my diploma, then as I walk off that stage, I make a loud shout saying “ALL DONE.” As soon as the graduation concluded, I began making my way to my car, that very minute is the minute that I regret the most because that is when I said that I would never return back to school again. Three years later, I am now back in school watching all the friends that I made in middle school, and high school graduating from college. I am glad I did begin school, even if it was three years
Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All the graduates had to meet in the high school library an hour before the ceremonies started, and I promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and let myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and she proceeded to tell me that he was in the bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the mirror with his cap and gown on. He look me straight in the eyes and said,” Can you believe that we are about to graduate?”
Graduating from high school is a milestone that forces one to make my future come true. I plan on going into the Military after high school because right after high school I don’t see myself going to college. I just need a break from it because I do not like doing homework at all. Also, school is getting boring because we don’t learn anything new, we mostly just learn the same things over again. While others may plan to go to college, after high school I intend to go to the Navy because I don’t see myself going to college right after high school. I plan to get a Bachelor Degree in something. So that is why I am going to the military to know what I will be doing. If I just go to college straight after high school I will not know what I will be doing there. Going to the military first is a great idea for me instead of going to college first. I just need a break from school and all of the paperwork. My goal is to learn what career I will be making my six years being in the military through work experience.
All throughout school, students are ask what we want to be when we grow up. Many of us know or have a pretty good idea, but others have no clue what they want to pursue as a career in life, whether it be furthering their education at a university or attending a technical school. There are other students that plan to start work right out of high school. Either way we all have a plan, and the purpose of this paper is to inform you of mine. I personally struggle in making big decisions like deciding what to do with my life, but then I realized I have been asking myself the wrong questions. Instead of asking what I want to be when I grow up, I asked myself what do I want out of life? what are some of my goals that I wish to achieve? This led
Wow! When I think about my milestones I go back to so many different events in my life. All these events that come to mind have shaped me into the person I am and it is very hard to select which is more "important" than the other. Like many of my peers, I understand that milestones vary between each individual. What might be a very important milestone for me might seem to be something "ordinary" for someone else. I also think that a person's culture impacts what they can consider a milestone.
The day I graduated high school is the most important day of my life because I experienced a euphoric feeling. The excessive weight on my shoulders was released and I felt relieved. Throughout high school, I endured many sleepless nights due to homework that piled up because I was horrible at time-management. Also, procrastination always got the best of me and I spent many late nights drinking coffee to stay awake in order to study for quizzes and finals. High school definitely challenged me and I developed into a new version of myself after I graduated. My graduation day was a rollercoaster of emotions because I was anxious on the drive to school because of the tremendous amount of traffic. Naturally, stress came over me as I was about to arrive late to my own graduation. Truthfully, I was running late because I spent so much time straightening my thick, curly hair and applying makeup. After I applied some dark pink eyeshadow throughout my eyelids using a soft synthetic brush, I quickly applied a muted pink lipstick and rushed out of my room. Unfortunately, the time I spent applying my makeup was wasted because as soon as I
