Command and Control in such a way is a very self-controlled discipline system in organisation. In the London riot case, I in my view could not think that it could work anyway better, then it is working at the moment. I in my view think it actually is very well despite the escalation and a lot of damage that was done. Several of the services had to go through challenging situations and even though they went through a lot of challenging situations, they somehow still managed to uphold developments and be organised. Due to all the squads had strategic commanders which literally obtain authority over the lower ranks officers and this can potentially lead, giver instructions, instruct, guide or finally coach them where essential. What sort of things could make …show more content…
Specific penalties would follow for instance: whether it is the armed forces, emergency services or other counting private public sector such as the: water supply, electricity and transport. There are also out there private businesses where Command and Control systems are in place. They are there and just represented in different ways, with less discipline in place unlike the uniformed public services where there discipline is very high and challenging. How Command and Control can initially be improved? Command and Control is a very old scheme which has been significantly proven to be appropriate for variety of services and also the businesses out there. Every organisation implements Command and Control in such a way which is appropriate for them, because this system is very flexible and also very easy and understanding for individuals out
Unity of command will further solidify the importance and use of the chain of command and eliminate confusion on who the employees
On July 5, 2011, two officers tried to search Kelly Thomas but he resisted. When taken into custody, excessive force and beatings happened, and Thomas’ thorax was compressed in the process causing him to choke on his blood. [Thomas] died five days later after he was removed from life support (Llyod). As Wood states, “By that evening riots had begun in South Los Angeles that would go on for six days and have an impact on race relations in America that continues to this day.” Both officers were not charged for order placed against them. This event became very public, as a 33 minute video was released. “Anyone who has seen the grainy but graphic 33-minute video of the incident must acknowledge that it is hard to square with the jury's conclusion
While looking through this report, these were some key issues that were addressed and mentioned. For the first one, they had an issue dealing with the command and control functions on the departments. Even though command and control functions are mainly useful for departments, they had some issues and errors with it. For example, with the command staff and the neighborhood jurisdiction had to go through some issues using the command and control function. The authors in this report stated that “ Other staffing issues that may impact the development of command could be
The 1992 LA riot is known as "sa-i-gu" to Korean Americans. Korean American felt that they were not given voice and believed the mainstream media was at fault in increasing tensions and exaggerating the rift between the African and Korean American communities. For example, the media did not write anything about the fact that Korean merchants were making donations to youth programs and the African American community or that African Americans were volunteering to help Korean immigrants study for their citizenship exams. The media from the Korean prospective were perpetuating and sensationalizing negative stereotypes between the two
From the beginning of the project Jennifer, Kialie, and Baylee was drawn to Taking a Stand for Theater: The Astor Place Riot because they were all theatrical students. They were very interested in this topic but they kind of put it off until the beginning of January because they felt like they had enough time put together the performance. When January hit Baylee decided that history day was not or her and wasn't as appealing. When Baylee left, they were lucky because that day there was a new student. They jumped the opportunity and got Alexis aboard. Of course they had to explain everything.
What happened during the riots, it is something that won’t be easily forgotten. For African Americans, Koreans and Caucasians as well, this was a tough experience where they all were involved and affected. For some of them the peace came to their minds, but for others, the hatred remained in their lives. There is always a chance that the Riots may happen again. Considering the disparities of thoughts among people and cultures, it may come a moment where these can turn the lasting ashes into flames. However, there are some strategies all communities can do in order to prevent the riots.
In this new decade where political correctness trumps common sense, civil unrest often leads to violent unrest.
The 35th president of the United States John F. Kennedy once said “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable”. The Kensington riots occurred in May 1844 and the riots endured for numerous days. The conflict that induced the violent riots occurred just a couple of days prior to the violent acts. An administrator of a catholic school in the district of Kensington suspended the reading and analyzation of the Holy Bible. Shortly after the ruling which was implemented by Hugh Clark spread to the city of Philadelphia, a rebellion began to stir in the city of brotherly love. Throughout this piece of writing a brief, yet detailed description of the Kensington riots that occurred in Philadelphia will be offered. In addition to a description of the violent riots, I will inspect the different sources used and explain the point of view of the authors and determine if the sources are worthy of the audience's trust or if the sources are biased and dishonest. After analyzation of several excerpts, it is inaccurate to deliver account of the Kensington Riots if it is biased against one of the participating parties at conflict. Furthermore before analyzing the accounts and point of view of the sources used an understanding of the events that occurred is necessary.
After all the disaster the mob did, police officers went to help the people in the city. Their was a African American that went to help a white person in the street. Many people know that they did wrong. Many people that were beat up in the street were innocent people. In that day many people were killed unfairly. The police went out there and arrest them or shoot them because the mob would not stop fighting back. Many people were stealing things from the stores. overall, the LA riot was very violent and unfair to people.
Having been part of the London riots of 2011 (uninvolved bystander), and seen firsthand how quickly violence can escalate due to a single event. Causes this topic to resonant with me personally. The controversial appeal of this subject will always keep it at the forefront of our minds, meaning, this topic will always purvey an elicit reaction, as such, this is a truly fascinating subject.
I saw this and decided to respond because I absolutely agree with everything you said. Immigrants are human being like us and they deserve the same opportunities as everyone else. Just because they might be illegal doesn’t make them any lesser. They work hard like everyone, sometimes even harder, so let them thrive in America because they can’t in their own countries.
The key to all of teamwork, leading, and following is adhering to the instructions of those appointed over you which brings me to my next point. As soldiers we are drilled almost everyday to listen to commanders, NCO's and basically everyone higher in rank than us or in some cases people that have more time in service. We are taught discipline from day one in basic training when we hit the ground the first time doing pushups to the last right face in the last ceremony before we see our families. Discipline is crucial to following orders effectively, without it soldiers would not react fast enough to what is being said or would simply not care enough about the task at hand to perform it, weakening the team it
The initial step within their research is to empirically prove the existence of an increase in sentencing severity faced by offenders that were partaking in the London riots. They achieve this through a regression analysis that provides them with corresponding estimations given a data set they were able to obtain from the Ministry of Justice. It should be noted that the data set they use for the estimation includes additional information outlining the demographic characteristics, as well as, further details on the crime charged with and its corresponding final sentence. Also, the cases selected for the estimation are completed and provide comparable offences for rioters and non-rioters with a restriction of sentences being less than 60 months
Unfortunately, even though the gangs were a force for good during the riots, it has not subdued the crime that followed in the riots aftermath. Because of the police being leery of sanctions against them for perceived police brutality, crime has risen to a 15 year high in Baltimore. This appears to have to do with the criminal element realizing the caution of the police and the police themselves afraid of incarceration due to misconduct (Sanburn, 2015).
During the “Long, Hot Summer of 1967,” Detroit erupted in civil protest complete with looting, arson, and sniper-fire that signalled the inevitable downfall of the so-called “Model City.” The Detroit Riot was not the first of its kind, these riots had been happening around the country throughout the 1960’s and Detroit had become another city on the long list of urban rebellions. Detroit was in such chaos that Jerome Cavanagh, the mayor of Detroit, was forced to call in the National Guard. The riot had lasted only five days, from July 23rd to the 27th, yet by the end there were 43 reported deaths, 7,000 arrests, and $50 million of damage (“Detroit Riot of 1967”). Each riot had ties with the Civil Rights Movement and the strive for racial equality that was so prevalent in the 1960’s. The Detroit Riot was referred to by some as a rebellion, in which the participants seek reform through mass protest (Blumberg 139). These rebellions were oftentimes spontaneous yet there were undeniable patterns that appeared too often to be coincidental. The Detroit rebellion stemmed from racial inequality and discrimination of African Americans in the city. The most common factors of the rebellion were the issues of police bias and brutality against African Americans and housing and employment inequality. Consequences of the rebellion’s spontaneity, however, were disorder and lawlessness. Although it resulted in chaos, the 1967 Detroit Riot was a race rebellion in response to institutional
