Accomplishments of Jacob Wheeler Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make up in the morning for work and see the sunrise from the water? That is exactly what Jacob Wheeler does and loves it, Here is a favorite quote of his.“There is just something about the crisp morning air, the sun finally taking a peek from the night, the early morning take off, the first fish of the day, that is what the game is about. I love getting up every morning for work and doing what i love to do”(bassmaster1). Jacob Wheeler was born in Indianapolis Indiana and he loves to be outside. When jacob was on his way to winning the 2012 Forrest Wood cup this past august on Georgia's lake lanier the then twenty-one year old developed a very interesting quote following the second day of competition after he had opened up a three pound lead over his closest competitor. Wheeler went on to lead the tournament wire to wire and became the youngest angler to win in forest wood cup history(bassmaster 2). Even though jacob does this for a living and does it twenty-four seven he never gets tired of it, after all it is the passion and dedication that drives him. He loves the sport and the thrill of it all and he will be one to watch in the future. Jacob is very competitive as if you can see so far, when Mark Zona watched him the other day at Table Rock Lake in Missouri he said jacob’s boat had confidence spilling all over it(bassmaster 3). “I told Brad (Knight) that he could have the money, I want the Cup. That is how much that trophy means to me. I want to become the first ever to win the Cup twice. If I can get the right bites and put five fish in the boat tomorrow(Jacob

The Lord Stanley Cup. The oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America and the greatest thing NHL hockey players dream of to hoist and kiss after a season. Training, practicing, motivation and pushing themselves to get better is what all these players put the hours into for that moment. After battling 82 games for a playoff spot, then continuing to win 4 playoff rounds, of best of seven series, they finally get to have the moment they’ve all been working and dreaming for as a kid. To raise the Cup, kiss it, scream, and then pass it to your fellow teammate. But that’s not why they do it. They do it because they had a dream as a kid and know the history behind what the Cup represents to
You’ve probably heard of those big time Hollywood movie stars and singers, but have you ever thought of the guy who took their photos in all those magazines, movies, and newspapers? James Van Der Zee was one of those guys.
Craig Key in Florida is a calm peaceful, relaxing, and tranquil place to go fishing. There are just two properties in this little key, Overseas Highway, and the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail. Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail is on the side of the road where my family goes fishing. The Florida Keys are, as the Florida Fish and Wildlife officer said “a beautiful place to go fishing if anyone annoying is not around,” by which he meant if other people were around.
As with Tyler Hurd’s involvement in the sport of fishing, it is not just the awe-inspiring loot he may catch that drives his persistence to keep fishing, it’s also about the fishing ventures he takes alone that satisfies his curiosity as well. While Hurd’s many fishing expeditions occur in the fishing areas of Galveston, his accompanying friends or relatives seem to limit his eagerness to try various different ways of fishing other than occupying fishing piers that contain crowds or charter boats that carry packs of people. Unlike the regular ways of his companions, Hurd particularly uses one of many available canoes within a bay area whenever the chance for him doing so arises.
I have been fishing as long as I can remember. It has been a pursuit, an adventure, a call, a metaphor, a meditation, and a coping mechanism. Being a young boy in the 1960s and 70s, reading Thor Heyerdahl adventures and watching Jacques Cousteau, National Geographic, and astronauts orbiting the earth and walking on the moon on television, the spirit of adventure and the wonder of the natural world were the air I breathed. Moreover, my family was of a religious bent where my sisters and I were more likely to be told to be quiet and pay attention on a nature walk than in church. As opposed to the somehow self-evident holiness of the sanctuary, my parents took on the nurturing challenge of opening our eyes to
Norman was born and raised in western Montana where his family taught him many skills. His father was a preacher and loved to preach about god and fishing to his kids. Norman and his brother grew up fishing. Norman and his brother often went fishing together as a part of their family tradition. The family believed in the traditional values of a Montana man that his father taught him. Often Norman compares life to fishing because fishing is what makes sense to him.
John Smith: John Smith was born in 1580 in Lincolnshire, England. John was an English soldier, author, and explorer who is remembered for his important part in finding and establishing the first permanent English settlement in North America at Jamestown, Virginia. Before becoming one of the world's most famous explorers, John wanted to live a life of danger and combat. At the age of 16, John left his home to become a soldier. In the 1600’s John traveled to Hungary to fight the Turks, but in 1602 he was captured and enslaved by a Turk. It was not until 1605 when John Smith finally escaped and made his way back to England. While in England John became involved with the Virginia Company, and that was when John Smith’s journey to North America
The odds were against us during the 2017 sailing season. In 2016, Key School Varsity Sailing was ranked tenth in the nation, but at the end of that year our seniors had graduated and we lost all of our starting sailors except for me. Even worse, all of our coaches had left and their replacements were new to Key Sailing. As a newly elected team captain, I was about to be tested.
The early morning breeze and feeling of nature that surround when I’m out on the water fishing is something I’m passionate for, and makes me who I am. It’s as though life around me stops and my only focus is trying to catch a fish. It’s something I could do all day and often do, and something I love to do with my friends, family, and even on my own. Fishing has affected me as a person. It requires patience because there are times when you might have to wait hours before your first bite. Along with patience comes determination, which is important because there are thousands of different ways to catch a fish. On one day a certain technique might work but on a different day I’ll have to look through my repertoire and figure out what is working

It’s something that he loves to do and we love to watch him do it. If Jake isn't getting rocks he is just laying in the water not doing anything but soaking up some sun rays. But if Jake is laying there and he sees a minnow swim by, he’s up and ready to find out where it's going. That’s another thing that Jake is very passionate about, chasing minnows (or small sunfish) along the shallow water. It's a riot. He will see a minnow and be super fascinated by it, sometimes he will even try to pounce on them like a cat. He isn't alway successful with catching the little fish but enjoys the chase.
Captain Pete: Captain Pete Wheeler was born and raised along the Connecticut coastline. He has served as a full-time charter
As you can se he from the above section he consistently places atop competitions in the midwest area as well as being very competitive in national competitions. In the midwest competitions, first place is consistently a few points away from his reach and the difference of a few points or getting a second rather than a first in a race can make a huge difference. Under many unlucky and difficult situations, Will often found himself getting second at regattas despite showing some of the best racing I saw on the water. To make it even worse, it was always to the same person and often just one race or a few points that separated the two. After several times this can begin to take a mental toll on someone. Understandably, after tough races there would be times where he would be down on himself, but never for more than a few minutes. He has always been able to clear his mind and be ready to go by the time the next race rolled around. These difficult moments would end up causing him to sail even better in the next race, which he would often end up winning. These instances of mental strength show the powerful motivation that Will possesses to achieve his goals. While many people his age are yet to develop grit, Will can continue applying it to more aspects of his life as he goes on to develop additional passions and confront difficult
