The folk tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, illuminates how stories shape a particular aspect of a culture or country. Folk tales are bodies of stories, poems, or songs that are passed down from generation to generation. This tale highlights the very idea of what the five main elements of a folk tale represent.
