“Liabilities are debts: money you owe. Every business carries some liabilities—for example, ongoing payments to suppliers, rent for your office, compensation to employees, or fees for contractors” (Mancuso, 2014). Added liabilities may result if a business is ravaged by a fire or flood or if the business owner(s) become the victim of a lawsuit—for example, a patron, client or customer decides to sue your company after hurting themselves on company property. It is the intent of this paper to examine the role and responsibility of liability in different types of businesses from sole proprietorships to
Participating in international business can be very risky and lucrative all at the same time. It is important to know the key factors and controllers when doing business on foreign territory. There are many things to consider when you look at day to day operations and cultural differences, but more so what you do in the event of a national state of emergency. There are always political issues, and individual problems that each country deals with within their own country. What do you do when you are faced with a state of emergency, do you continue to stand your ground, leave and only choose to reappear when things have settled, or simply stop operations all together.

In the case of Anthony, a New Jersey resident and owner of a waste disposal company in the state of New Jersey, and his two business associates, Paul and Silvio, whom suffered severe injuries due to a motor vehicle accident caused by a negligent truck driver; they have great standing to sue against the neglectful driver and the company associated with the ownership of the vehicle. Regardless of the diversity of their residency/ citizenship, the affected party can proceed to sue the corporation responsible for the damages caused by their staff and property; reason being that they are protected under the Constitution’s diversity of citizenship, and the privileges and immunities clause. Furthermore, these two constitutional clauses in addition to the commerce clause, dictate the court that the matter needs to be brought to.

These people hold a legal and ethical relationship with certain parties due to the fact that they all entrust each others money (Dictionary.com). Due to the specific existence of the relationships between businesses and law people with much greater responsibility are placed in a fiduciary position to ensure the workers in positions below them perform to the best of their ability (Austin R & Ramsay I, 2012). They take it upon themselves to control the money of all the parties involved, by doing this they are not only executives but consumers who are obliged to use their extensive skills and knowledge in a legal and respectful manner, however having these skills leaves others who are not as skillful and knowledgeable susceptible to being unintentionally exploited.
