Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706. As a Founding Father, he is best known for drafting the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S Constitution. He also negotiated the 1783 Treaty of Paris, ending the Revolutionary War. Investigating electricity, mathematic, and mapmaking were all included in his scientific pursuit. He also published Poor Richard’s Almanack, and organized the first successful American lending library. He was a writer known for his wit and wisdom. Franklin’s first invention, created round 1740, was a stove. It provided more heat without needing as much fuel.
