In the beginning of the book, Macbeth is a general of King Duncan. After a successful battle against the invaders of Scotland, King Duncan recognizes Macbeth for his actions. Macbeth and Banquo are then given prophecies by three witches. The three witches tell Macbeth he will be the “future king”, and to banquo that his “descendants will be kings”. These prophecies mark the start of Macbeth’s downfall and the influence yet to come from Lady Macbeth. When Lady Macbeth hears the news of Macbeth’s prophecy to become king, she knows he needs to kill Duncan. What impact did the three witches have on Macbeth's destiny? The witches had complete influence over Macbeth's destiny and demise. Shakespeare's "Macbeth" tells the story of Macbeth's fate, which ultimately brings about his demise. Macbeth's loss of morality, self-respect, and self-worth both physically and mentally is largely the result of fate. The witches first appeared in Macbeth early in the narrative, giving Macbeth a prophecy about his impending power.
In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger Holden Caulfield the main character in the book has trouble getting along with the people in his surroundings. The book is about Holden who is telling his own story with life, while bearing treatment at a mental hospital. In the book the author illustrates the troubles that Holden had while trying to be around people.
“Macbeth” is a play about a Thane named,Macbeth, who gets a prediction from three witches. At first Macbeth does not believe the women and just laughs at them, but he still has his doubts. He becomes envious and even thinks about killing King Duncan right off the bat. Before Macbeth headed home, he sent a letter to his wife telling about the predictions. When Lady Macbeth hears about this she wants to get the crown for her husband and become rich.
She is always on the side of Macbeth telling him what she thinks he should do. When Macbeth was off at war, and he sent a letter to lady Macbeth that said the witches told him he would receive the title of King of Scotland. Additionally he mentioms how she will become Queen as well, soon after she begins scheming how to fulfill their assured title before he returned home. Once Macbeth arrived, King Duncan decides to visit the Macbeths' palace, he stays as a host. Lady Macbeth mocks his masculinity as she says, "And live a coward in thine own esteem" (I.7 line 47). In order to make him commit the muder. Macbeth murders Duncan, although he wanted to wait and have faith play out without to kill anyone. The prophecy given by three witches to Macbeth directly influences their idea of Macbeth becoming King and obtaining ultimate power. When the sister witch tells Macbeth, "All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!" (1.3.51-53), the blueprint of Macbeth’s downfall and the loss of his humanity is put into motion. The witches’ prophecy tempts Macbeth to use any means possible to achieve his ultimate goal to the throne, which eventually causes bloodshed and his complete downfall. The witches’ supernatural knowledge and predictions plant the seeds of lust in Macbeth to be the most powerful man in Scotland, which is intoxicating to him.
The first person I interviewed was Celeste Lashmett. Celeste was my high school track coach and had recently became a new parent in the last two years. AJ is two years and four months old right now. Celeste is currently living in Winchester Illinois with her husband Tim. Tim and Celeste have been married for the last five years. With AJ only being a little over two years old I would still consider them to be new parents. Tim works at Lincoln Land FS in Winchester and Celeste is the high school guidance counselor and also the high school track coach. The interview was done at the high school in Celeste’s office and Tim was not present.
Some people may argue that Macbeth convinced himself that the only way to become king is to exterminate King Duncan, but Macbeth considers King Duncan “So clear in his great office, that his virtues/ Will plead like angels” (1.7.18-19). As Macbeth is contemplating, he begins to abandon the assassination of King Duncan, but as Lady Macbeth listens, she strives hard to take advantage of him, proposes a plan for him, and orders him to complete the task. After Macbeth questions, “If we should fail-” (1.7.68), Lady Macbeth immediately responds saying “We fail?/ But screw your courage to the sticking place/ And we’ll not fail” (1.7.69-71). The two dialogues between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth signifies that Macbeth is now eager to pursue Lady Macbeth’s plan, although, he is concerned if the plan will work. Also, Lady Macbeth speaks with confidence, knowing that her plan will operate easily and nothing will go wrong. To conclude Act 1, Scene 6, Lady Macbeth says, while exiting the scene, “Only look up clear./ To alter favor ever is to fear./ Leave all the rest to me” (1.6.84-86). After Lady Macbeth has been informed that King Duncan will the spend the night over, her ambitiousness takes effect and she prepares for King Duncan’s arrival. Ambition was huge in the play right from the beginning. The three witches implanted the ambition in Macbeth’s head. "All hail Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis! All hail Macbeth!
However, this would soon change due to the influence of Macbeth's wife. Lady Macbeth's character at the beginning reveals that she is very ambitious. Her character also shows that she loves power and wealth. Lady Macbeth soon realizes the witches’ predictions, and decides to kill Duncan. Lady Macbeth was ready to kill King Duncan herself, but she backed out because he reminded her of her father. Lady Macbeth plays an important role in this play, because she provided the scheme, which caused Macbeth to assassinate King Duncan. When Duncan arrived at Inverness, Macbeth controlled his ambition for the time being and did not kill Duncan. The failing of his decision was soon reflected by Lady Macbeth who called him a coward. However, Shakespeare provokes a sense of pity by making Macbeth regret his wrong doing shortly after the murder. It is after this scene of the play, that the audience can note the change in Macbeth's character. Macbeth's first murder was a trying experience for him; however, after the first murder killing seemed to be the only solution to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Therefore, Lady Macbeth
For centuries, humans have influenced each other in decisions made everyday. To what clothes to where or what things to buy. No matter how big or small the decision, in one way or another someone influenced them. This is shown in the play Macbeth,where the witches are responsible for leading Macbeth to his death and causing much of the tragedy because they influence him by telling him prophecies that foretell his future power, leading him to make decisions that will make him meet his demise.
The witches are the catalysts for Macbeth’s transformation from good to evil. In the beginning, Macbeth was a warrior hero of King Duncan’s Kingdom. Macbeth was a courageous and loyal servant of King Duncan and all he wanted was safety for his country. Macbeth’s ambitions and the witches changed his personality from a loyal servant to a tyrant. The three witches made a bigger impact to Macbeth after the witches have told Macbeth their prophecies.
In the Shakespearean play The Tragedy of Macbeth, three witches’ prophesized that Macbeth would be king. When he heard this, he sent a letter to his wife telling her what the witches said. When Macbeth got home, he told his wife that King Duncan was coming to his castle Inverness for a feast. Lady Macbeth told him that it would be the perfect time to kill him and take over as king. So she goes and creates a plan to get rid of the king without suspicion falling on them. She tells Macbeth that she will drug the guards, and then he can go in and kill the king, then rub the blood on the guards so the blame goes on them. So they decide to do it early in the morning. Before Macbeth can kill the king he chickens out and says that he will not kill his king because he is a good man.
