America is great, strong, beautiful, and proud but I believe some things could be announced more often. In the America I Believe in we have patriotic respect to our country, equality, and freedom of speech without being judged.
Some believe that in this America that we live in today doesn’t have as much patriotic respect as in earlier days. As we were raised in the United States, we had to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance in school. The Pledge of Allegiance shows respect to our flag and to the veterans that once fought and who are fighting for us today. Also, I believe that we should respect our country’s leaders. Our leaders of this country make sure we are safe, and provide health care. Without leaders the country may be in a state
America gave my generation Freedom and the right to vote. My generation should respect the veterans more and we should be thankful for our freedom. My generation should respect the veterans more because the fought for the rights we have today we should be thankful, we should not take granit for it. Another thing is that they fought and they lost their brother and they fought on even though they were mourning on their loss. The last thing is why should you disrespect your veterans without them we would not have the rights we have today.
If you think about it, you have probably been saying the Pledge of Allegiance everyday since first grade. When you initially learnt it, you didn’t even know what it meant and by the time you did understand it, you said it by pure rote. No one questioned it, but why should they? It doesn’t take much energy to stand up and recite a short verse everyday. However do you say these significant words with any sincerity? But stop and think for a second, why are we required to start each school day by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Don’t you think it is about time to understand why exactly we say the Pledge? Is it to honor our country? Is it to respect our freedom? Is it to hail our
Since the Pledge of Allegiance was something that was recited every single school morning, it did not have much importance to me and just became a school routine, you stand up, place your hand on your heart, repeat the words, and sit down. Even at one point it became annoying to me. If you were to not fully participate you would be slightly scolded by the teacher or given a look. Now that I am older I have learned more about what it means and understand that it has an emotional meaning to some Americans. The Pledge of Allegiance is a patriotic vow to the United States to remain loyal and obedient to the country that offers freedom and
For years American citizens have held respect for something important to veterans all over America, known as the Pledge of Allegiance. The pledge of allegiance is a solemn oath of loyalty to the US, declaimed as part of flag-saluting ceremonies. It’s tradition to stand during the allegiance, and place your right hand over your heart. Doing so, shows respect to America, and to the veterans who fought for our freedom. Recently, individuals have been speaking out as to why you shouldn’t be forced to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance.
As a daily routine many schools have their students start by standing up, facing the American flag, and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. This is something that most students have memorized since kindergarten and in some cases even preschool. The students recite the pledge every morning and most of them don’t know what it means or aren’t really sure why they have to say it. If students don’t know what the purpose or the history behind something is, they generally don’t take the matter seriously, which with The Pledge being a serious matter, students need to know the history in order to show respect. The Pledge of Allegiance should be said every morning by students at schools in the USA and they should be aware of its meaning.
There is much controversy surrounding the idea of patriotism and the iconography of the American flag in today’s society. Some believe patriotism is simply the act of supporting the decisions of the leaders of the country. Others say, to be patriotic, people should be outspoken and voice their oppositions to what is going on in the government. Opinions also differ on the idea of what the American flag represents. One opinion of the flags representation is that the flag represents our history, and the formerly mentioned idea of patriotism. Others believe the flag also represents our history as a nation, but these beliefs focus much more heavily on the negative aspects of our history; such as slavery and other injustices carried out by our
To make things clear, the Pledge of Allegiance is not a pledge of loyalty or anything of that manner to our government. Rather this be the peoples’ nation. Writer Alexis Lynn Oldham has asked the community, “What is your view about standing for the Pledge of Allegiance?” A.J. Layton said, "I find it offensive when Americans refuse to stand and acknowledge the Pledge of Allegiance. Too many good men and women have died to make this country what it is, and to me failing to recognize your patriotism is a failure to recognize the sacrifices that have been made on our behalf by people who know nothing of you and I.” Americans forget to understand what being free truly means. Free isn’t so free when you look at the bigger picture. Free has its consequences. Hundreds and thousands of lives lost on a daily basis for us to be
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave” is repeated over and over again to emphasize the foundation and morals of our country. We are thought to be free and courageous from our triumphs on the battlefield by other nation. Funny thing is that song was written in 1814, 195 years after slavery was established in the U.S and was still occurring. “the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” There are many problems with the pledge, not only is does it sound like a cult pledge but it is also forced upon people. You are shunned for not being patriotic enough and pridefully singing the national anthem. America, the birthplace of the hotdog, the first one the moon, and the runner
Any man or woman who goes to war to serve for our country should always remain recognized for their sacrificial decisions to protect all the people of the United States. That is why Veteran’s Day is so important to the not only the troops’ family, but to everyone. Individually we recognize the hard work that they do, the daily sacrifices they make, and putting their life on the line for our freedom and justice. Veteran’s day is for current troops who are serving and for former troops as a consequence to renounce their great doings. All veterans should always continue to obtain recognition for when they served no matter when or where it was. If it weren’t for our
While the pledge of allegiance is meant to enlist pride in students, people should have the right not to deal with this kind of patriotic ordeals. When we pledge “allegiance,” we are promising to be loyal and honest to our nation, the United States, and while these important ideas are beneficial, we should not be forced to pledge loyalty to a nation. The Declaration of Independence clearly says that people have the "right and duty" to go against an unfair as well as a corrupt government. While this should only be thought of when things go out of control done many do not approve of the government, and they should feel comfortable saying so. As things are, right now students and anyone for the matter should not be required to say the pledge of allegiance. There is, in some areas, pressure to "give in" and say it just because everyone one else is already doing so. People should be all for the educations of the nations students and the importance of voting in election polls to practice democracy, and student s should be well informed about the issues that the nation is
Most Republicans feel the players are, in fact, trying to show that disrespect to the flag. One reason for their believing that not standing for the flag is meant to be disrespect to the nation and its troops. Republicans such as Donald trump have voiced their opinion on what the NFL should do with players who refuse to stand the flag. President Donald Trump wants the NFL to fire anyone who would refuse. There was also the incident when Steph curry from the Defending NBA champs refused an offer to go to the white house while Trump was president. So the president felt disrespected and withdrew his offer and took shots at Steph.
There are many ways individuals show pride for the United States of America, one of which includes pledging themselves to the American flag. The Pledge of Allegiance was made for the purpose of showing the alliance a person has to the US, but some people have chosen to refute this statement. Most others choose to argue that this is incorrect because of the disrespect that is occurring when people don’t stand in regards to the fallen soldiers and those that fight for this country. However, it is clear to see that those individuals shouldn’t be forced to stand for the Pledge because this is impeding on those certain people’s belief systems and therefore intrudes on the First Amendment.
What is respect? Is the way people should be treated, how you would want to be treated, and should it come naturally or should it be taught? Respect is what are world is built on, I feel that the phrases like “reap what you sow” explain what respect works like. For example to when I am rude to someone they tend to be rude back, the same works with respect. When being disrespectful to someone you most likely will disrespect you right back. Not everyone follows these thoughts of respect. Actions like these can lead to dangerous places, people begin to break boundaries that were once built on respect.
leader should be obvious. If a war or conflict were to break out, it would
My fellow friends and Loyalists, we have been betrayed by our own. Patriots are what they call themselves. They do not believe in our king anymore. The king has supported us and fought for us and in return they cause a rebellion. King George once said, “A traitor is everyone who does not agree with me,“ and he is beyond correct. Anyone who sides beside them are committing treason and ought to be penalized. We shall stay with Britain because we are stronger than the Patriots, trade is successful, and the economy is sustainable.
