Parents. Do you regret something in life? In order to learn teenagers need to recognize what they are doing wrong and apply the change in their life. The process of helping children take responsibility and make decisions is key task for parents. Parents have an important role to play in training and supporting your child to be ready for more responsibility. They should keep the age at 16 because teenagers need to learn responsibility. Parents will get tired of driving their children everywhere. Teenagers will gain independence. The age should be kept at 16 because teenagers need to learn responsibility.
Driving any type of vehicle is a big responsibility. The various laws and road safety rules are ones that need to be fully understood. While this is all very true there are some drivers who need to have time to learn and gain the experience to become good drivers. As the experience level of these people is still very low it is necessary for the teenage drivers to be careful as they begin to gain their experience. By letting the teenage drivers see the awesome responsibility that comes of driving any vehicle they may learn to be careful. This care will lead to more teenage drivers becoming

Single parents with more than one child that participate in different activities that are in different places across town will start to stress and have to put off plans in their life. As teens age, they become more active. School clubs, social functions, weekend activities and after-school jobs typically require transportation. Parents are usually first on deck to provide it, and if there is more than one teenager in the house, the coming and going can become chaotic. Letting teenagers drive gives mom and dad a break as the teens take on more responsibility for getting themselves around. This will also be helping with the transportation needs of younger
The article from Jay Evensen oppose the idea of lowering the age-limit for drinking to 18. He oppose the idea because he believe that by lowering the drinking age, there will be an increase in mortality for the youth (which in this case below 21). He believes that it is true that the 21-years-old drinking age creates lots of binge drinking activities, but it is not the solution to lower the drinking age because the cost that might happened will be even worse. He stated that “there really is no logical connection between being old enough to qualify as a fit and effective soldier and making mature drinking decisions. Rental car companies understand this, which is why they generally don’t trust their cars to anyone under 25”.
Working Thesis: Why the drinking age should be 18 in the United States Of America. The audience has a pretty good attitude about my topic. The survey seems to show that teens do feel like twenty one is too high of a drinking age.
There has been a debate on lowering the drinking age from twenty-one to eighteen. There are many reasons why this policy should not be passed. At the age of eighteen in the United States one is considered as an adult to make there own decisions, vote, and are allowed to buy Tabaco. Drinking is not one of them. Studies have shown that there are scientific reasons this should not happen. First drinking can be very harmful to the body, causing severe symptoms. Second the drinking and driving rate would increase. Finally, eighteen year olds are not as mature as twenty-one year olds. They are not as fully developed as twenty-one year olds. All of these are factors that contribute to why the drinking age should not be lowered.
The drinking age should be decreased from 19 to 18. Firstly, at 18 you are considered an adult; therefore, you are responsible for your own decision making. Secondly, people that are 18 drink anyways, whether its legal or not. Therefore, I think there would be less trouble with police activity and underage drinking fines. Next, if at 18 you were able to buy alcohol, I feel lots of young adults would and it would increase the tax dollars. In conclusion, I think lowering the age to 18 would be a good decision for our province.
Alcohol is considered to be a large problem in society today. Especially with young adults between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one. Which presents the question of whether or not the drinking age should be lowered. Lowering the legal drinking age to eighteen would have positive and negative influences on society. Positive through raising more government taxes and keep high school age and young college students out of trouble with the law for drinking. Negatively; students, both in high school and college, would drink during the week which could cause problems with education and crimes related to alcohol would be more likely to
What do you think the legal drinking age should be? For years the question, “What should be the legal drinking age,” has been in the air. Many people have been arguing whether or not the legal age to drink should be raised, stay the same, or lowered. Save Us from Youth talks about how there is not a consistency of laws for an eighteen-year-old. As a young adult you are given many rights to be certified as an adult, yet are held back as youth because drinking is prohibited. Different appeals to logic and red herring are used in Save Us from Youth, to give the authors view on consistency of laws and being an adult.
Drinking alcohol is a privilege. Many people abuse it, but that doesn’t mean we should get rid of it because that's unfair to the people that won’t abuse that opportunity. My brother graduated high school and is going to college, he’s 19 and he is in the United States Marine Corps, but it is illegal for him to consume alcohol. He’s considered an adult because he’s not in high school and he can get a tattoo if he pleases. He fights for his rights so shouldn’t he have some alcohol. I have a very strong belief that if you are 18 and you are considered an adult so shouldn’t we all be given the same rights?
Do you think the drinking age should be lowered to 18? Well I do because you should have the right to drink because once you turn eighteen you will be considered as a legal adult.
As many people know the age at which one can legally consume alcohol in the United States is 21. At one point alcohol itself became completely illegal but I am writing this paper to argue that it should be lowered to 18. It is 18 or lower in many other countries and I willing be presenting an argument as to why the United States should be next to lower the age.
Alcohol is a great way to suffer a slow and painful death, and sometimes a quick death in cases such as drunk driving, killing yourself and maybe another person. If the legal drinking age was lowered from 19 to 18 (the age that you become an “adult”), teens would acquire health problems, the suicide rate would increase, the families of the drinkers would become financially unstable, and crime rates would increase. By not lowering the drinking age to 18, there is one more year for teens to become mature and one more year to keep these teens and many other people around us safe.
The recommended option that is the most suited to the situation is to keep the legal drinking age at 18. This option is the best due to that there is strong evidence to suggest that there are other factors that influence young persons not to drink drive more so then increasing the legal drinking age. These factors are zero tolerance laws, general alcohol campaigns and legislations as well as having strict provisional licencing laws.
Risking one’s life to serve this country, having the responsibility to vote for this country’s next leader, having the freedom to gamble one’s savings away: these liberties become reality for every young adult at the age of eighteen. Why, then, is it that the government wants to hold on to the ability for eighteen year olds to drink alcohol? Since 1984 the U.S. law has held the drinking age at twenty-one years of age. Some people hold that the drinking age should remain the same, while others fight for change. The U.S. government should lower the age for drinking to 18 because all other rights are given to Americans by then, it would cause less underage drinking, and it would be economically beneficial.
Students in states with a minimum legal drinking age of 18 had a 13 times greater chance of dropping out of high school compared to states with a minimum legal drinking age of 21 (CDC). More than ninety percent of the alcohol consumed by those under the age of 21 are consumed by binge drinkers (CDC). There were 189,000 emergency department visits by teens under the age of 21 for injuries and other conditions linked with alcohol consumption (CDC). The list of facts and statistics goes on and on about underage drinking, although in neighboring countries with a lower legal drinking age theses statistics are way higher. Although some believe that the United States drinking age should be lowered to 18 when one is legally considered an adult, in
Teens need to be taught that driving is a task that is complex and demanding. Parents know how much experience a young driver has, and they know exactly how inconvenient it is when they have to drive with their teen everywhere while they have their permit. Teens tend to cause most traffic accidents in adults’ eyes. They are not experienced yet, and often fail to pay attention to others on the road. They often think of a car as being some type of toy, but they do not know how powerful it really is. The driver education programs must be strengthened in order to make sure that students really have safer habits, behind the wheel experience, and by having a better understanding of all the laws on the road.
Teenagers who are allowed to drive learn responsibility. When learning to drive there are so many rules and laws that have to be followed. In addition to this, there are certain things you must do to take care of the car. It takes responsibility to follow these laws and to take care of the car. Driving takes a certain level of accountability to ensure the safety of the one driving and all other passengers. This is how driving teaches teen responsibility. Also, driving helps the teenager start to become independent. The teenager will no longer have to rely on their parents to take them to places. In life, there will be times when everyone will have to be on their own. It is necessary that teenagers learn how to be independent. Driving forces the teen to grow-up and live on their own. This will better prepare the teen for the future. This is why teens should be allowed to learn how to
