Happiness is only real when shared” it’s a passage in the book Into the Wild (Jon Krakauer) wich is about Christopher McCandlessa who had given up everything and moved to Alaska to live by himself and took refuge in nature. However, Cristopher behavior’s is uncommon. As human being we company is needful, have friends is necessary to share the bad things and especially the good ones, like Cristopher figured out. But, what traits should have a person in order to be considered a real friend? How do recognize na inadequate person to avoid whatever relationship? In a perfect world, everyone should be a real friend. But, for these a list of traits should be reached and, unfortunatelly, most of the people don’t own the necessary characteristics.
Throughout the novel, Freak the Mighty, author Rodman Philbrick brings the two main characters, Max and Kevin nicknamed “Freak”, together through friendship between two completely different people. The two friends friendship made both Kevin and Max stronger in their own ways; whether it be Max and his self confidence or Kevin with his size. The friendship they had changed both the main characters and others around them for the better in the end. By using proper structure and organization, Krakauer is capable of using evidence from McCandless’s life in order to present the overall theme of the novel to the reader.
